Been working in heath insurance since I was 19 starting as a admin assistant and never in a million would I have guessed I’d actually be working from home and I love it. I don’t have to deal with micro aggression previously dealt with my Texan very white supervisor, I started at $20 and I’m able to be here when my baby gets off his school bus. Now if only I can get past this 20 hourly I’m in there! Lol *still very thankful Lord!* 🙏🏽☺️😁
I work in housing law and just left Texas after the big freeze. The homeless problem was so bad. Remote work can help people to stay housed and employed which is a great option

Kiki is on point, the job market is super hot with competitive offers. I was in the job market in June/July 2020 and had 4 remote job offers. Companies are offering huge sign on bonuses too. I'm in tech recruiting and the hiring process is super quick right now. I love working remotely since I can travel without taking PTO.
@Liz K Can I ask the best way to connect with recruiters? I have 19 years of experience in the Healthcare/Healthcare Insurance field. But I would like to pivot to tech. I'm currently looking for something remote- not sure where to start.
@@Looknside Hi! The best way to get into tech is to search for tech companies related to your field. There is plenty of tech companies in the healthcare sector. I would also suggest tailoring your resume to the job description (what they're looking for). The market is competitive overall so make sure you showcase any transferrable skills.
This is real good stuff, thank you for being consistent in uploading this type of content! I work remotely as a HR professional and am looking to find a second remote job in the same field. This remote work life has definitely opened up more opportunities for financial wealth and overall freedom!!
I’m working so hard at this. It’s stressing me out and I’m really trying my best but it’s been months and everyone wants to hire me “in office” it’s frustrating but there no ways I will stop . I’ll be 30 soon and I’ve never traveled out side of California for the most part. So I’ll keep going until it happens.

Some years ago I worked from home. Although at first I thought, this is great, in time I came to hate it. I began to see my home as my place of work, and found I could never just relax in my own home. Anyone else experience this?
Angela R. talked about this too. I can totally see how this can become a huge problem. I personally need some better guidance on how to create a separate work space and schedule so work doesn't take over my day and my whole living space. 💗
Yes, I agree. It was unexpected. It got even worse when my kid had to do virtual school. I think we have gotten used to it now, but it's definitely something to consider.
I have worked from home for over a decade. It works better when you have a separate work space, preferably with a door. I’ve had a home office and at the end of the day I close that office door and “go home”.
Before the pandemic I'd worked from home twice a week. I always said that was probably ideal for me. March 2020 we went full time from home. While I appreciate being able to stay safe, I don't love being at home every day! I miss the social aspects, I miss leaving home, going downtown, etc.
I knew about house sitting back in the 80’s because I wanted to live in NYC BUT, look for alternative housing while going to school out there and enjoying the city! I also been advocating working from home for 25 yrs b4 the Pandemic. I’m glad companies are finding value this now.

There is a difference between remote and working from home. My employer has both types. The first woman that was talking had a work from home position. She still has to be in a specific location. Either her home state or a location where that company has a location, like she said, Canada. Remote workers can bop around unless there is a conflict with the location , for example certain countries in the Middle East, or Russia, China.

I retired at 53 thanks to my husband . It wouldn't have been possible without his company stock plan because it far exceeded the 401k we both have. He is six years older than me and was sick of the day to day grind but we had no clue if our savings and investments would be sufficient, we finally went to a financial management meeting and we make all decisions for a profitable Investment and prepared a plan for our early retirement. We should have done this years ago but never considered that we might ever have enough to retire early and I thank God and my husband for the ability to do investment . We are now financially stable with everything paid for and we have a good health insurance ! Don't wait time is something we have in short supply and no amount of money will buy you more.

Listening to you ladies sound promising! I have been in payroll for 20 years. I want to try my hand at Accounting but can't seem to find something starting out or finding a good employer. I 4 hour commute a day is taking a toll on me and I feel like there is no work life balance and there is no time for myself. I am really searching for something remote. Thanks for your great stories!
Start with agency work. Those contracts a way in the door with higher pay. Many are temp to hire also. And most of them are remote when you have experience in any kind of HR functions
@shugg881 Yes, what V.A.L. said....my undergrad was in psych in Cali... couldn't get a job so I moved to Denver and started working as an accounting assistant and worked my way up through agencies... 6 years later... still no accounting degree, just moved to Dallas, staff accountant.... maybe start with accounts payable/accounts receivable roles and then find what element of accounting works for you
I agree with the other 2 ladies. Start with AP or accounting assistant, then work your way up. My background was in payroll, and that helped me get my first job in accounting. But I also had additional coursework in accounting so that may have helped my resume stand out... also while still in payroll, maybe ask your current employer to give you different accounting type task that way you can add that to your resume. And look at smaller firms that may be willing to give you a chance
My job switched to wfh when quarantine started, and then I switched to a position that’s permanently wfh, and now I want to travel more. I’m also considering moving to a less densely populated area with more space for my plants.
@@angelar.5683 I know it does. I love AZ. I was just out there 4 months ago. The only problem is the heat. Have you been there for the summer and if so how do you handle it? That heat has nothing on LA's beautiful weather, or even Vegas' heat. That heat in the summer is like an inferno. That is the only thing that scares me. All of the Black business owners and people that I talked to from CA about the move said, "the heat...blah, blah, blah." LOL
@@angelar.5683 When I get there, I will hit you up and say hi. I just have to figure out the weather. I am going back this summer to see if I can bear it.
@@truthseeker5941 I moved in March, so yeah - I've been here in the summer. I dealt with it by being inside or leaving. Lol.. during the day I'm in the house working and I go out in the morning or at night when the heat is not as bad. And when I didn't want to deal with the heat, I left town. Went and visited friends and family in Denver and Long Beach... people complain about the heat, but that really shouldn't be a deterent. Unless you HAVE to be outside, you don't have to be outside. And unless you HAVE to stay here, you don't have to stay here. Lol. Just like people leave cold places in the winter, you can leave a hot place in the summer.
@@angelar.5683 Well, you have it going on like that you can rock and roll like that. I am looking to work from home too so I don't HAVE to be anywhere that I don't want to be. I'm in the UK, an Accountant and wfh two days a week. My boss sees no reason for us to be in the office, but to please the Directors' we wfh two days and can work any three days in the office. What additions do you need, i.e. ring light, adapters, etc. What are the best cell phones for remote work, particularly if working abroad. I'm not a techy and my laptop has pretty much seen its best days, so I'd like to know what's best to invest in going forward. Thanks. :)

I really enjoyed this presentation. Would it be possible for you to have someone in the insurance industry but non sales. I currently do remote health care sales and just burnt out. I only come across insurance sales jobs. I've been remote since 2016 and have absolutely no interest in working in anyone's office. Love your channel.
Great interview. I would like a remote position as an administrative assistant/data entry/customer service. Maybe p/t to begin then transition to a f/t position.
Analysts take some years because you need that experience before you can analyze the systems. Definitely not an easy thing to just apply for. They usually hire within the company most times at least in my experience. For people looking for entry level then look into customer support that’s usually remote.
I work remotely in Texas it’s customer service and they service different big name companies. Like the First Lady I found it on Indeed. Not only is it remote you get full benefits and company perks, fast promotion and good pay. I love working from home,

This was so good. I really enjoyed learning about all of these ladies.
Glad you enjoyed it Regina! 💗
Thanks for this. I've been applying to many wfh jobs, however finding one that pays well is just now paying more that I've come across.
My job switched to wfh when quarantine started, and then I switched to a position that’s permanently wfh, and now I want to travel more. I’m also considering moving to a less densely populated area with more space for my plants.
What is wfh?
@@rhondabooker7652 Work from home.
Angela reminds me of me. I am from LA and want to move to Arizona this year and then move to Mexico eventually. You go girl.
Do it!! Especially if you can work remote. LA money goes very far out here... And if you decide to come to AZ, feel free to hit me up!
You have a good system going and it makes sense to me. You are such a smart young lady. Your people did a good job raising you, Beautiful. Thanks for the tips.
I'm in the UK, an Accountant and wfh two days a week. My boss sees no reason for us to be in the office, but to please the Directors' we wfh two days and can work any three days in the office. I love my job, but my preference would be to wfh full time. I saved so much money during the pandemic and that is my motivation😀
Accounting and Finance are the best for remote positions.
I’ve visited Toronto, Ontario and it was like being in a Chicago with the lake on the opposite side, I really liked it!
"it's good to have options but not if we don't exercise them" ---- a word!
So true. I and so many can relate to not working within their major. Life happens. SMH
Stephanie your hair and natural beauty is screaming goddess. Lakisha your backdrop is everything!
Thanks Dama. 💗
This is how you Dream Awake 💎
your hair is EVERYTHING Queen!
I just started a remote job last year and I’m very thankful for it.
Can you tell what type of work you do? I’m searching for ideas as I’m having anxiety thinking about going back in an office
@@sscaneel Hello sscaneel! I am battling depression and now out of a job after working more than 20 years with mentally challenge children(Down Syndrome and Autism). Depression is the devil! now I am learning Front end development on W3school it is HARD but doable even for someone like me. To you this is my best suggestion when you wanna live the real nomad life.
Loved this @Stephanie Perry! I’m currently looking for something remote as a therapist outside of the US. Thanks for sharing this.
Yes it can be done! I do import/export. You must have an entrepreneurial spirit, creativity and be willing to travel and live in different countries. I work with the people in different communities to market their products abroad.
HOW??!?!?
This is one of the most useful and informative channels that I subscribe to.
Mahalo,

Good morning from the West-coast. Thank you for all the information you give us all. I just have to say you look great, I love your Afro and your skin is flawless. Fellow expat and your content has been inspirational in keeping me moving toward moving abroad next year. Blessings.
This was very informative and helpful. Thankyou for this video.
Girl you are so right about degrees in accounting. Experience in accounting is way more important.
Hi. Could you do a brief video on what type of technical equipment one would need to work remotely? So for example, laptop, but which are the best brands for remote work. What additions do you need, i.e. ring light, adapters, etc. What are the best cell phones for remote work, particularly if working abroad. I'm not a techy and my laptop has pretty much seen its best days, so I'd like to know what's best to invest in going forward. Thanks. :)
I'm in the UK 🇬🇧 I was offered 2 remote jobs last week. 1 for a bank and the other for a large public sector body. I have to say we're it not for p-demic I don't think I'd have these opportunities. Love your channel.
The video was so motivational/inspiring. Thank you 👑
I really enjoyed this presentation.
Yes!!! Thank you Stephanie!!!
You're welcome Deborah! 💗
Hey Stephanie, Ladies and Chat.. Awesome Video 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks so much Chocolate Rose! 💗
@@StephaniePerry You're Welcome 🥰
Such a wealth of information. Thanks Stephanie!!
So glad it was helpful Tania! 💗
Great interviews and information from all the ladies. Thank you!
Analysts take some years because you need that experience before you can analyze the systems. Definitely not an easy thing to just apply for. They usually hire within the company most times at least in my experience. For people looking for entry level then look into customer support that’s usually remote.
Excellent content Steph! Thank you to all your guests...esp.Rock Shimmies! Her field as a Healthcare professional really resonated with me.
love the hair!!!!!!!
Thank you! 💗
I work remotely in Texas it’s customer service and they service different big name companies. Like the First Lady I found it on Indeed. Not only is it remote you get full benefits and company perks, fast promotion and good pay. I love working from home,
Hi, I also live in Texas & I’m looking for a remote position. Do you mind telling me the name of the company? (You can message it if you like)
Loved! Hubs and I are leaving the country and currently looking for remote work
Liked and subscribed!! Can’t believe I’m just finding this!! Thank you Stephanie for this essential information.
Welcome! 💗
Yes, I am a Health Consultant with a health insurance provider and my unit tt doctor offices and facilities remotely. I love it because it's M-F. No weekends. The requirements were a Health License or medical background.
What company?
@brendaj.carpenter this sounds along the lines of my experience. Would you be willing to discuss the company and your status today? Thank you.
Thank u Stephanie..may the blessings on the Lord be with u
Great customer service means everything. Customer Service permeates from bottom to top management.
