Great series Justin! I'm watching your series to learn how to create a scale model of my house and property. The idea is to model what exists today, and then get creative inside and out. Would love to see this shed modeled into a landscape with some rocks, shrubs, trees, and uneven ground to simulate a real-world environment. Then maybe move on to rendering it?

Is it right to say that once you confirm a scene in SketchUp for layout, and it's all set in layout, then you would not want to amend that scene in SketchUp, right?

Excellent! Great organization - the basic steps in the right order and the right information for a quick start. I wish I'd seen this when I started using layout.

    Another excellent tutorial.
I would love to see you develop this model into a full set of documentation to a DA level.
I bought the 2021 version and I am very happy with it.
My skill level is at a stage now I need to look at more in depth training programs.
I would like to eventually use Sketch up pro as my primary documentation and design tool.

How to speed up my layout? Layout is my go to presentation creation software. But the notation and dimensions is just perfect. But its took a long time to get the scale right, and if i insert a medium size images, it immediately runs so laggy

scale everything in raster mode first, working in raster mode is always the way to go so its less laggy. When it comes to a point where you need more clarity when working, seperate the higher poly objects like furniture into a seperate scene, then switch the existing scene of lineworks into vector/hybrid.
So it will look like this, two scenes stacked on each other:
      Raster Scene (Furniture/highpoly objects only)
      Vector/Hybrid Scene (Wall/Slab/Floor/FixedCabinets/Doors)
The main issue of lag is caused by High poly objects/ Furniture trying to create all the large number of lines into vector mode, causing the lag. Easy solution is to not use vector mode for these group.

What's the advantage of doing dimensions in layout rather than doing dimensions in the model on it's own layer?

    Why does a 3D
model go first before getting into the layout?? opposite to the traditional ways. Floor plan before 3D
