Passing topik 1 with only 6mths of self studying is very inspiring! How did you practice speaking and listening? How about the basic grammar before jumping into intermediate?
thank you for your kind words! 😊 for listening, i listened to a lot of korean videos with subtitles (english + korean), i tried to listen for at least for 5-10mins per day. as for grammar, when you study intermediate level stuff, basic grammar will be covered as well so i personally think you can pick it up naturally as long as you're consistently studying! speaking was not tested during the TOPIK 1 exam, so it wasn't my primary concern at that time. hope this helps!
Saying it's easy is completely relative since it depends on your background. For someone who speaks Spanish for instance, it's not easy in any way. With many efforts, I managed to get 162/200. I can't say it was a piece of cake tho. I only studied during 5 months in the Sejong Institute in Ecuador from scratch as I even didn't know Hangul. Long story short, I'd like you to not comment it was easy cuz there are those who despite their studies, couldn't get at least level 1.
Unnie thank you very much for this amazing video.....it really helping me ...I have 6months in my hand for my first TOPIK exam....and I am very tense ....Thank you so much I am gonna follow all your advice 🤗🤗🤗Thank you for the video unnie....🤗감사합니다
This was really helpful. I want to try and take the exam later this year or early next year. I have been self-studying for a long time - and have made some progress but I am not where I want to be. Taking an exam is very different from communicating freely. This is where I struggle so much. But it just takes time. I am so fortunate that my husband is Korean. But you would be surprised how much English we speak! I am now forcing myself to speak more in Korean - every day. I guess I am just a slow learner.
Really helpful! I'm waiting for my TOPIK I scores after ~8 months of self-studying. Hope I could pass the exam and have wonderful results like yours 🤩🤩
Another question if you don’t mind :) What method did you use for memorising vocabulary? Saying and Writing it again and again? Any Spaced repetition app ( like anki, Memrise ) ?
hi subashree, i wrote a whole list of vocabulary once through (korean and english translation) while repeating it out loud in my head. then i copied it multiple times on a notebook :)
How many words do you have to memorize for this level? I'm thinking of learning the language too... By the way, as someone who has passed the Japanese language exam in around a year of studying (Intermediate level, with around 2000+ words and 700 kanji characters) what I do to memorize words and characters is use flashcards and read passages so you expose yourself to the words as often as you can, just sharing some tips.
Me being into korean culture since 2012 but unable to learn korean and lived in korea for almost 2 years… maybe i am traumatized for studying a science career for 7 years.. it took me 3 years to read a book again. I was exhausted

Hiii! I have a question, if TOPIK 1 takes you around 6 months, how many months do you think it can take me to pass TOPIK 2? thank you, your video it's really helpful!
Hiii! Hmm, to be honest topik 2 is a lot more difficult than topik 1. There are also 4 levels in topik 2 (3-6급) and only 2 levels in topik 1 (1-2급), so I’m not really sure. I’m guessing I would need at least double of the time so maybe 1year of proper studying... I’m planning to take topik 2 in Oct, so hopefully I can give u a more accurate reply after I take the exam. :)

Like did you jumped to the inter grammar directly after the vocab list, or did you did it together ??? Also, what about basic grammar ?? Like... verbs, and tenses ??? I'm so confused. Thanks a lot.
Hi, thank you for the kind comment ☺️ yes, I learnt grammar and vocabulary together. I definitely recommend starting with the basic grammar and basic vocabulary together so you can form simple sentences first. As you get more confident, you can build up and move on to more complex ones. Hope this helps and all the best!!

I am wondering why you decided to learn Korean via English (e.g. your vocab list has the English definition) instead of Chinese since you are in Singapore? I would have thought it would be easier to learn Korean using Chinese because much of the vocab and measure words etc translate directly into Chinese whereas they often don"t in English

hello! if you signed up for the TOPIK 1 exam & your score is 80/200, you will still pass with 1급 (lower-beginner level). if you scored 140 and above, then it will be 2급 (upper-beginner level). they look at the overall score :) you can have a look at the grading table here ➡️ www.topik.go.kr/usr/cmm/subLocation.do?menuSeq=2210101#none
Hi!! I think it’s important to learn the Korean alphabet/Hangul first, and then focus on learning the top 100-200 most common vocabulary! That’s what I’d personally do if I was a beginner again 😊
Yes, you have to pay for the exam. It costs $100 SGD for the TOPIK 1 exams and $120 SGD for the TOPIK 2 exams, but this differs from country to country so please do check with your local examination board :)

i have just seen the vocabulary list and i wonder why there is two verbs to do here?. It's exactly the same.
the word no.2 and no.5
Hey! Yeah, it’s the same word. You can ignore the repeated one… there are some duplicates in this list and I’m not sure why!
@@BellasDiary13 hehee thank you
I’m having trouble downloading the vocabulary pdf. Can you kindly guide me?
Thank you
Hope you found this helpful! 😁
Eonnie? I'm a little bit confused what if the Level 1 in Topik 1 didn't get 80pts am I failed in that or the Level 1 and 2 both scores are combine?
hello! if you signed up for the TOPIK 1 exam & your score is 80/200, you will still pass with 1급 (lower-beginner level).
if you scored 140 and above, then it will be 2급 (upper-beginner level).
they look at the overall score :) you can have a look at the grading table here ➡️ www.topik.go.kr/usr/cmm/subLocation.do?menuSeq=2210101#none
@@BellasDiary13 감사합니다 언니! 😇😇
im applying for korean unis but they require topik level 3 and i know very little korean:(
All the best… a little more hard work will pay off ☺️
So beautiful very nice video thanks for sharing friend
Before I prepare for this, can you please tell me how to learn Korean🥺❤️
Hi!! I think it’s important to learn the Korean alphabet/Hangul first, and then focus on learning the top 100-200 most common vocabulary! That’s what I’d personally do if I was a beginner again 😊
@@BellasDiary13 Thank you so much!!! 🥰🥰😃
Did you pay fo the TOPIK Exam and if the answer is Yes ..can i know how much it is ?
Yes, you have to pay for the exam. It costs $100 SGD for the TOPIK 1 exams and $120 SGD for the TOPIK 2 exams, but this differs from country to country so please do check with your local examination board :)
Been studying 3 weeks and still can't remember Hanguel 😩. Well, back to studying 😞
Keep going! Once you start reading simple words in Hangul, it’ll be much easier to remember
I have 1 month to pass the Topik 1, wish me luck

Are 6000 vocabularies enough to pass the Topik 1?? ( I am now starting to prepare for the test, so if you reply that would be a huge help for me) thanks
Hello! Yes I think 6000 vocab will be enough for TOPIK 1, I only studied about 3000 and I was able to pass 😊
Hi unnie! I am going to follow your plan till 5 months with my high school and my art UA-cam channel(Arty Crafty Creativity)its gonna be really challenging as its gonna be really tiring but i hope to pass the topik this year
Lots of love 💕

All the best for your scholarship application! I think it depends on what level you’re currently at… but nonetheless just do your best and don’t stress!

Hello I am beginner and not much have that time of 6 months just because of topik exam which is scheduled on 10 July 2022. So my question is that if I have roughly around 2 months in hand can I still be able to make it or not. I am targetting level 2 score for sure. Please help me if you got it what I am going to say isn'it
Hi, I think it depends on how much time you can dedicate within these 2 months. If you’re consistent, I think it should be fine :) all the best
@@BellasDiary13hello can I know how much time you spend studying Korean each day for topik
how to pass topik test in 1 month ?
Hey I'm just a beginner and topik is only 2 months away this year and i hot to know that they are not conducti the exam on October instead it will be held in July. So can i pass topik 1 in 2 months or should I wait till the next year. And hiw much time it takes to declare the results??
Hey I think you should try a test paper to see whether you’re comfortable or not :) everyone’s learning speed is different so it really depends on yourself…. I can’t really advice 😅
@@BellasDiary13 ok I'll try some tests by my one first💜
How you pick 3000 word over 6000 word??
Please reply..
I just studied from the start of the list till the middle… no specific method. Even better, please finish all 6000 words if you can!
Hey, i want to ask you something. Can i do it online, the exam? And do they accept it? Or i have to do it physically and take the certificate physically? I need it for something, that's why. :))
Hey if you’re talking about the official TOPIK, I dont think you can take it online (pls check with your local test provider tho!). There are lots of practice test papers you can take online tho :)
HI,
can you provide your notes. Please......
Hi, sorry it’s has been 3 years I’m not sure if I have the notes you want. Which ones do you need?
@@BellasDiary13 Actually I am pretty lost where should I start learning Korean. So if I get your notes it's very helpful for me to make my study plan.
