hey everyone! thank you all so much for being with me on this journey! the past 6 months have been super challenging, but this was a one-time commitment that I know will pay off for the rest of my life. the process itself was far from being smooth, and now it feels like all those years of hard work are finally paying off! I want to take a moment to thank everyone who supported me during this. your encouragement and support means so much to me! this year brought a lot of challenges. along the way I lost so many people I once loved and appreciated, I realised I didn’t have as many friends as I imagined, and even some fellow polyglots cut me off. it wasn’t easy to experience, but at the end it taught me a valuable lesson: you don’t need people in your life who won’t stand by you or who feel threatened by your success. the world is full of kind, ambitious, and supportive souls, and I’m beyond grateful to have some of them here cheering me on! for anyone feeling stuck or doubting themselves, I hope this reminds you that hard work pays off, even after years. I know it doesn’t feel easy, but keep trying, surround yourself with people who believe in you, and don’t let negativity and jealousy hold you back. thank you for being a part of this and I hope this video gave you a little boost of motivation as we head into 2025! ❤
Iclal You are such an inspo ❤ Congratulations on your certificates 🎉 And I know you would achieve so much more greater feats!!! Never give up We love you 😊
hi Iclal, I can't tell how much have you motivated me already.. I was in a very very long mental-breakdown and cut out studying the languages i used to, now I'm back again preparing for the IELTS test , never took it before but I aim for 7 at least.. ( it'll be in January ) my study again and taking action is first THANKS TO YOU, that's why i'm writing this.. I'm really willing to go back here and tell what score I'll have gotten.. Thanks Iclal💌
5 Language exams in a year... That is insane!!! I cannot even imagine how hard it was to keep focused all this time. You are such an inspiration. Greetings from Brazil.
I also noticed the frontal lobe explosion. Learning multiple languages speeds up your brain in ways you couldn’t imagine. Your achievements are truly incredible. You let us dream big. Polyglott-Queen!
Public law exam, diritto pubblico, the nightmare of all (native) Italian students, and you passed it with 26/30, right after a language exam! You are amazing girl ❤️
As a person who has learned 8 languages myself, I can guarantee you that taking 5 advanced exams in A SINGLE YEAR and passing all of them (hopefully) is a bigger achievement. I do not think I could possibly do it, to be honest. I was shocked when I saw you were actually going to do this and all I have to say is that you are a true inspiration pulling this through and documenting the whole process. I appreciate how you told the story thoroughly and talking about the ups and the downs, because not many people show the negative part of their success. Personally, I'm struggling a lot with my attention. Social media and other influences have really started to affect my cognitive skills and I remember my focus was much brighter when I took the English C1 exam back in 2020. The fact that you have done this really makes me get out of my conformism and study again, because language learning is a true passion of mine and I don't want it to gradually stop learning as intensively as I used to do. Life happens and as I get older, I tend to prioritize other stuff, but seeing your perspective, I'm simply throwing in the towel when I know I've been up for harder challenges in the past. Thank you very much, keep it up and no matter how big imposter syndrome can feel like sometimes, your achievements vouch for who you are and what you have done in life.
Me too languages learners just know how insane that achievement is especially in Russian and German C1 would probably take 10 years minimum…but maybe she doesn’t do anything else…no work or any career goals….. I‘m getting my degree in a STEM field and it’s killing me but if I didn’t I‘d probably find her progress reasonable…..I’m proud of her anyways
Yes, it is. Each such exam lasts about 5 hours, so it's huge physical effort. Plus they cost you. Many people do not do it this way just because a cumulative cost of taking them all in one year would amount to a very huge amount of money spent only for language exams. Maybe it's lower for students who get some exams for free but it costs universities too, so usually even at uni there is a limit of 2-3 exams per year per a single student. As for documenting all process, personally I wouldn't add so much work on the side to my own efforts since video editing takes time while learning so much takes a toll on one's time too. So yes, in this regard that's admirable and rare just because how time-consuming it is on the top preparing for exams alone.
@@cloudslady3400I think that she's a political science student, and I imagine she integrates her languages into her studies by watching and reading political news in her languages. That's what I would do, if there were Spanish language resources in the field I'm currently studying, a very specific form of herbal healing that has much more to do with China and India than the Spanish speaking world...
Being a native Russian speaker I was puzzled by the complexity of the Russian language test! It seems ridiculously hard! Kudos to you Iclal. I share your passion for language learning and specifically I am a fan of language exams ;) My language achievements are modest: I have "only" C1 in English, German and Spanish. I am hoping to obtain C1 in French in 2025. I am 32 y.o and I am thrilled that people like yourself could achieve a lot at a very young age. You are my role model for language learning. I hope to meet you one day and speak to you in a bunch of languages! Cheers!
lol im learning russian idc about any tests my end goal is to be able to speak to native russians and they wont be able to tell im not russian and im hoping less than 3 years i study on average like 2-3 hours a day mostly using comprehensible input. Also reason why i dont care is because as a native english speaker who btw i have a very above average level of english for a native (according to the tests ive done) and i barely got C2 but thats with over a decade of formal english study 😂
i just wanted to say that you are the most genuine and honest polyglot i've ever seen!! and i'm not exaggerating. you're so relatable to me as someone who watches your videos. As a polyglot, i also struggle with inconsistency and burnouts whenever i learn a language, and i'm glad that you show that the path to fluency has never been easy. keep going iclal!!! we love you!!
I’m 16 and speak 3 languages fluently, while learning 3 more simultaneously and honestly I’ve been slowly giving up because I was told to only do one at a time, and that I will mess up. Seeing this really helped me and reassured me that it’s actually more than possible, thank you lots :) Your consistency is INSANE 😭
@@BoboBobo-on7je I don’t have much to do today, so I’ll try explaining how I learnt and am learning all of them in as much detail as possible! (Excluding Greek since it’s my mother tongue) -I learnt english through immersion and some private english lessons and so I got the C2 (proficiency) at 14, I’d communicate with english people in games all the time when I was a kid so I got the hang of it really fast, and therefore as a teenager english felt so natural to me that I didn’t even study before the C2 exam. I can almost say that “it spawned in my head someday”. Also I want to add that, since english was my first foreign language, a mistake I’d make was that I’d translate everything in my head. Right when my teacher told me to not translate what I’m reading, it all became so much easier, this for me was the most significant moment when learning english. -Will be getting the DELE C1 (spanish) certificate in 2025, which is a language I learnt pretty much entirely on my own. (Started at 15 on and off) What I did was join servers where Hispanic people were interested in learning english, and I’d offer to teach them in exchange for them teaching me Spanish. And while it’s always good to have a native speaker as a helping hand, of course I had to put in some hours studying grammar, vocabulary etc. First I learnt the most commonly used irregular verbs, and I tried building sentences off of them (preferably trying to recall and use vocabulary I have learnt recently). I moved onto making essays, mostly on topics I was interested in to keep me motivated. I’d also learn a lot of new vocabulary, abbreviations, slang and idioms, (including regional) that I would normally never come across in a textbook, by watching people texting each other in servers. But for more formal and advanced words and sentences that you would normally not see in everyday conversation, I’d just use a translator (personally I use DeepL since it’s the most accurate one I’ve found so far) and write them down. Also weirdly while I’m not a big fan of A.I at all chatGPT has been pretty useful for me, since obviously my hispanic friends can’t be online 24/7. I’d look up whatever didn’t seem right to me, but generally it won’t make mistakes if the language is spoken by a huge amount of people (f.e. English, Spanish, French..) but it is expected to make mistakes in languages that are spoken less. I myself for instance have noticed a lot of mistakes in Greek. As my vocabulary grew and my essays got better and better, I’d look up samples of essays that are C1 level and study them, and then try to build an essay off of what I’ve learnt. The reason why I’ve not talked about speaking and pronunciation at all is because the phonetics in my language are the same, and the accent almost identical, so thats not something I needed to focus on. I’m planning to take some private Spanish lessons 2-3 months before the DELE C1 though, since someone who has good knowledge of what the exam will look like is incredibly useful. So thats 3 languages down, now the languages I’m learning range from A2 to B1-B2 (N4 for Japanese, where this measure doesn’t apply). For Italian and German, I’ve pretty much been using the same techniques I’ve mentioned above. Italian, being a romance language like Spanish, has had a TON of similarities which is why I’m having a much easier time learning. German could be considered something new to me compared to the other languages I know/am learning but I was taking it in school so I already knew the basics before I started taking it more seriously. Now Japanese is a whole different case and I won’t be getting into detail, unless you want me to cuz it’s way more specific than all the other languages I’ve listed above by far. Hope this was helpful, sorry for the enormous text, I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. Good luck with learning your target language(s) :) If we share a language of interest I’d be more than happy to help if you want
@Zwologosss tyyy smm that was so helpful i hope you good luck, and i hope your journey of learning Japanese is good and joyful. and im actually trying to learn English. if u have and tips and advice I'd be so grateful for you. just knowing that you're as my age and you've learned all theses languages it's just shocking and stimulating، I'd be so happy if we can like know each other. *and my mother language is arabic i dunno if it one of ur language that you want to learn but I'd be soooo happy to help you out if you need too.
@@BoboBobo-on7je Np!! Standard Arabic is actually a language I’ve been meaning to learn a while now, and I’d love to help you out with english! Which platforms do you use?
I feel like crying watching this. I recently also had a thing with my best friend and it hurted me deeply... you transforming all of your pain into an achievement which seemed so impossible and like something unreachable, just shows how powerful you are. You had a goal, you sticked to it no matter what. What a tenacious spirit. I genuinely feel so proud of you. You did an amazing job🫶🏻 now not only your amazing language skills motivate me to be better at languages but your emotional intelligence makes me want to be better version of myself too Thank you for existing and being you, this video was so comforting💖
You know, if people hurt you when you focus too much on them and keep pouring all your energy into them it's sometimes better to re-focus on yourself and pour more energy into youself. Learning new skills and following your own interests is a great way of doing this. And foreign languages can be both a nice hobby to have and a useful skill to gain and develop.
@joob40 don’t come in here being snarky when the video is about learning languages. Unless you’re gonna tell them what it means and how it’s used, don’t mention it. They’re learning and trying and that’s what counts.
before watching the video, thank you so much. You motivated me to learn a new language (italian), it has been one year and I already can understand a lot of italian and I already read 8 books in this language. You are so amazing!
i remember when a year ago, i started learning russian and i wanted some tips on it. i checked on youtube and found you. since then, you are my biggest inspiration, and i even consider you my authority. you helped me with my russian a lot, and now i think im a solid A2. im so glad youre happy now and i hope youll never question your talent and work again.
Amazing accomplishment. I took a C1 exam in French and fell short by half a point. I did not prepare much at all, because I was very insecure about my oral production. It turns out I did well in that portion. I am much older than you, but your discipline shows and you have inspired me to try C1 in two of my languages next year. My head has not been in the right place for about three years, but learning languages has kept sane.
Im so glad i came across your channel a couple years ago because you have been my biggest inspiration when it comes to language learning(i also have been struggling with some personal problems and thus neglegting my language learning, but seeing you also struggled but instead focused on your goals is so inspiring). You are by far the best polyglot on youtube bc you are genuine and realistic. You dont give out meaningless, generic advice to people, you always mention that the most important thing is self discipline and hardwork which is so true, just look at how much youve achieved. Anyways, sorry for the long comment, just wanted to say that your content and journey is so inspiring to us and thank you for that
I speak 6 foreign languages to various degrees, I got my first two C2 certificates already, and I was planning to keep getting one a year. Passing 5 exams like this in one year is extremely impressive. I think you inspired me to consider increasing the pace a bit. Thank you for showing what's possible.
I've been learning Russian for the past year now and I'm currently doing my B1... it is such a struggle but thinking about what you have achieved inspires me every day and helps me to stay consistent with my studies! great work! love from Germany
i can't even begin to imagine the genius-ness that is your brain! girl! xoxo. i was feeling like, lately what is the point because i don't think i make any progress with language, but you have absolutely re-inspired me - it's alll about our effort and hard work that pays off in the end. it's hard for example, as i don't have time at the moment to put into the languages - as much as i want - because i have work and other exams to prepare for. but maybe its okay, after all languages are not going away and i'll be able to get back to them eventually!
Next week I have my toefl exam to take. You make me so motivated and give me so much inspiration despite being younger than me. Keep posting, keep doing what makes you happy even at the times of difficulty. You really do help people !🦋
I've studied eight languages and become fluent in four of them, but wow! You've taken it to a whole new level. Congrats! I'm somewhat intimidated, but also inspired to renew my efforts to push forward.

Congratulations İclal ! the languages that you learned are really not easy , they need a long process. and also a motivation of course .

Total respect to you iclal ! from a fellow language lerner, you are a real polyglot! you inspire me now to take this step as well. I even thought about returning to youtube and post more videos in the languages i speak. You are young and you have done so much you should be proad of yourself .

try to learn Georgian language!🇬🇪 I would love to listen you speaking Georgian ! I just came accros your video and it really made my day! I can feel you, I’m in the same situationship going through some life difficulties. It’s funny that I have started learning German language days ago. I don’t have friends so I try to overcome my loneliness with productive activities, but it’s still overwhelming knowing that social support can enhance my brain work and productivity on another level... It was nice to be aware of your interesting journey! I think it was a sign. thank you, sending love from Georgia.
you are incredibly enchanting. something about you is so beautiful, so confident, so out of this world. ilysm. may Allah succeed in you in whatever path you take in life!!
Reminder folks, this is 5 C levels IN ADDITION to speaking English at basically native level and her actual native language. Iclal is the most underrated polyglot UA-camr, hands down.
Awesome video - I'm taking the DALF C1 exam next week - and this is pretty inspiring. I agree with you in that the exams serve as a good milestone or "finish line" to definitely say "I speak this language" without the imposter syndrome. I hope the results from your other exams are good - thanks again for the video!
Wow, this is amazing, you did a great job! thank you for sharing with us and for the motivation. I'm probably going to take HSK 4 intermediate chinese exam next year!!!
the expression on your face when you say ''please attempt b2, you dont need a c1🥶'' got me lol, and also congratulations with all my heart. its amazing that you can do this and its incredible that you are determined enough to do this. you are such an amazing inspiration.
Iclal, hi, thank you for sharing your journey with us! First of all, congratulations on passing 5 C level exams, it's truly impressing!! I really love your content and your determination, you set an example for many of us. Keep it going, you're doing great! Wish you all the best with other languages you're eager to learn and can't wait for more of your videos here in the future ❤

this video honestly gives me so much encouragement. i’ve wanted to learn multiple different languages but didn’t think it’d be possible to be very proficient in so many. now i really need to continue my spanish and take portuguese and french more seriously 😭 i also wanna learn swedish, ASL, some chinese, and tagalog

I think this is admirable. Congratulations 🎊. As a Spaniard, I looked for some DELE C1 example tests and I can tell you they are difficult, even for native speakers, so you did an amazing work 👏
I am in awe. I mean seems impossible and you did it. This video actually came right on time as I have been aiming to learn French and German and trying to reach at least B1. I started this also after I just graduated from high school (in Istanbul) and yeah had heartbreaks from my favourite people and the similar story of anxiety even panic disorder

After watching this video, I feel motivated to learn French along with Spanish, which I have been dreaming of for a long time. Two weeks ago, I took my DELE A2 exam and scored 90% as well. I am totally agree with you about the fact -"hardwork always pay off " It has always an amazing journey with you. By the way, congratulations on passing the C1 level in your target language exams!
Just wanted to say that this is absolutely insane. I wish I could be C1 in French & Spanish. On that note, thank you for sharing your struggles and your drive to change this situation. Life is not easy and I hope you are doing okay now.
You’re a true polyglot. A C1 level or higher is what truly qualifies someone as mastering a language. Some people who call themselves polyglots don’t even have a B2 level in some of the language they claim to speak.
May God keep blessing you and may He be with you until your very last breath ! Friendships and relationships can be challenging as a young adult, and it can be even more challenging as a young immigrant BUT I promise you that 3 years from now you will laugh at it. We all went through this period of painful adulting and with God you always come back the other side loaded with blessings and confidence. Take care love, it's going to be okay.😁✝️

@@agatastaniak7459 You're right Private law is way harder than Public law in Italy as well. Administrative law is not that difficult but boring...
IS a big lie bro )) TOTTAL BULLSHIT))
Me too languages learners just know how insane that achievement is especially in Russian and German C1 would probably take 10 years minimum…but maybe she doesn’t do anything else…no work or any career goals…..
I‘m getting my degree in a STEM field and it’s killing me but if I didn’t I‘d probably find her progress reasonable…..I’m proud of her anyways
@@HeyNormies jealous alert
Honestly me too!
@@BoboBobo-on7je I don’t have much to do today, so I’ll try explaining how I learnt and am learning all of them in as much detail as possible! (Excluding Greek since it’s my mother tongue)
-I learnt english through immersion and some private english lessons and so I got the C2 (proficiency) at 14, I’d communicate with english people in games all the time when I was a kid so I got the hang of it really fast, and therefore as a teenager english felt so natural to me that I didn’t even study before the C2 exam.
@Zwologosss tyyy smm that was so helpful
i hope you good luck, and i hope your journey of learning Japanese is good and joyful.
and im actually trying to learn English. if u have and tips and advice I'd be so grateful for you.
just knowing that you're as my age and you've learned all theses languages it's just shocking and stimulating، I'd be so happy if we can like know each other.

You did an amazing job🫶🏻 now not only your amazing language skills motivate me to be better at languages but your emotional intelligence makes me want to be better version of myself too
Thank you for existing and being you, this video was so comforting💖
You know, if people hurt you when you focus too much on them and keep pouring all your energy into them it's sometimes better to re-focus on yourself and pour more energy into youself. Learning new skills and following your own interests is a great way of doing this. And foreign languages can be both a nice hobby to have and a useful skill to gain and develop.
Finally a polytuber showing prophency in languages without vanity and discipline!
I think you meant ‘proficiency’ :) but also, I disagree! She definitely has discipline!
@@ariellev9185I think you mean ‘I agree’. But yes, she is absolutely evident in learning languages.
It's the phrase what I looking for hahahah
Without discipline? Not sure you know what that word means.
You are so amazing!
i remember when a year ago, i started learning russian and i wanted some tips on it. i checked on youtube and found you. since then, you are my biggest inspiration, and i even consider you my authority. you helped me with my russian a lot, and now i think im a solid A2. im so glad youre happy now and i hope youll never question your talent and work again.
i fucking cried all along the video, because of my pure empathy and proudness of you.
i wish you the best
How much do u study per day? And are you using comprehensible input method?
Sana helal olsun İclal! Sözlerin çok etkileyiciydi. Bana büyük bir motivasyon verdin!!

It is incredibly funny that you don't even consider English a foreign language to get a c1 certificate.

the expression on your face when you say ''please attempt b2, you dont need a c1🥶'' got me lol, and also congratulations with all my heart. its amazing that you can do this and its incredible that you are determined enough to do this. you are such an amazing inspiration.
You are the most inspiring person on UA-cam!!! We are so proud of you!!! 🥳👏👏
