I have a wonderful tip if you are going to pound a nail on a wallpapered wall. Before you hammer the nail, take an exact knife and cut a small v into the wallpaper. Lift up the flap and pound your nail into the exposed wall. When you want to remove the picture at a later time, just pull out the nail, bring the wallpaper flap down, and add a small dab of glue to the paper. Your nail hole is covered without damaging the wallpaper! So simple and easy!
Sherry, another one of your decorative pieces of art. What a cozy and inviting room. The statement says, "you are welcomed in our home and we are glad you are here". Your guests may never want to leave😮. That wallpaper is beautiful and the armoire matches perfectly. A stunning success!
What an awesome makeover! Love the bedding, the wallpaper, (it’s so pretty), love the shelf and your styling of it and mostly the redo of the armoire, gorgeous and perfect color for the room. Like the people above, the armoire is too beautiful for the mirror and the other frame you hung on. I love the armoire as it was after finishing. Don’t mean to criticize, just my opinion….but it is your room and I know you will enjoy it so much! Like another said, leave the door open to enjoy and admire! Thanks for sharing with us.
I would have put the plates somewhere else and hung that mirror with the ribbon there. Seems like the perfect place to check your appearance before you leave the room. It’s very cozy and I like the decor ❤
I ABSOLUTELY love your guest room makeover. My husband of 50 years passed away unexpectedly 6 months ago. I’ve been trying to decorate some rooms in the house a little differently. Everything in my house reminded me of him. It wasn’t a bad thing but I’ve been so sad. Thanks for the inspiration.😊
My condolences for your loss. Understand - it's not a bad thing but a sad thing. It's nice to give things a nice cleaning for Spring, although I'm not looking forward to it the pollen.
My deepest sympathy. For me, it's been 12 years and I recently moved, but there are always memories that hurt and there and many that make me smile. I hoe you will continue those new projects. The memories will become more precious because he will always be with you.
So cozy, but in my humble opinion that armoire is much too pretty to be covered by a mirror and a pic. You did an excellent job painting it. The room is very adorable now💕
I love the room. I'd be interested to see it again in about a year. My guess is the drapes and mirror on the armoire will be different as you find something you like better or just can't help yourself wanting change. I grew up in the antique business, so my home has constantly evolved, as yours does. I think that's why I enjoy your channel so much. We both have a love of beautiful things but have limited budgets. This forces creativity and out of the box thinking. You often amaze me with your abilities. I'm at a point in life where I don't have the ability to make major changes to items I buy and have very limited space, so I really enjoy seeing what you create each week. You are always my first stop on Mondays. Keep up the good work, and God bless.
This room transformation is so very cozy and welcoming. The room looks like it's in a bed and breakfast inn from a historic location. I just love every single detail!
Sherry I watch scores of DYI's make overs on You tube, but you take the cake. You have the best ideas, and can transform anything into something more wonderful. Sometimes the pieces that you buy are perfect the way they are, but when you turn them into something else, I am never disappointed. You have real vision. Always a joy to watch🎉
That is such a lovely space now. Your guests will think they are staying at a high end Hotel or Inn. So warm and welcoming. Make over videos are always fun to watch, and you present ideas we can all achieve.
Girl!! You are the most clever decorator I know, just really and truly. Your ideas and the things you do always amaze me. This is now like the perfect extra bedroom and I'll tell you why that armoire never looked better than after you painted it. Just gorgeous Sherry
Lovely--I like how you don't hesitate to make things over. I would have debated for weeks over painting the armoire and wouldn't dream of putting a nail in the front of it--but you did and it turned out fabulous in every way. You give me the courage to "break" the rules and not hold things so sacred.
Thank you for posting. I get great ideas in the “finishing” details on makeovers but in full disclosure, many times I jump to the end of your video to see your amazing stying. I ALWAYS pick up little decor nuggets I can easily transform into my spaces. Keep it going. I’m a fan!
I love everything about this room. The colors, the decor, the arrangement of furniture…there’s nothing I don’t love. The wallpaper is beautiful. The window coverings are such a nice contrast with the more tailored look offset by the fringe trim. I can’t say enough good about this room. Any guest would be charmed to spend a night in this beautiful room!
Wowwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!! Sherry, you've outdone yourself. I LOVE the vintage side table and how you styled it.....the mirror behind the lamp...I never would have thought about that. I'm coming for a sleepover hahaha
It’s an amazing renovation! Others have addressed the things on the armoire. The only other thing that kind of bothered me were the rabbit and nonworking clock on the small table. I think the pitcher and peonies are gorgeous and enough for that table. When I’m a guest I always need room to lay my glasses, my book, and charge my phone when I settle down to sleep. I surely can’t be the only one?
You’ve done it again!! Simply beautiful and cozy. Great update of the armoire. The framed art within the wall shelf display added the perfect touch. So charming!!❤️ Can’t wait for the next room makeover 🙂
This lovely room says " oh, you are so welcome to be here with us in our home!" I learned so much from you in this makeover. I live in small living quarters and will be using your design principles to refresh my rooms. Thank you for your clear tutorials.
Sherry this is so beautiful. Clever you. William Morris wallpaper never fails to impress me. The wardrobe turned out fabulous. Love that square table too. You are a genius.
How exquisite! Soft creamy colors mixed with the rich accents of the dark furniture made for calming country charm. Any guest would be delighted to spend time in this room!
WOW!! I love, love, love what you did in this bedroom. So warm and welcoming and gorgeous!! I need to try out the peel and stick wall paper as wallpaper adds so much to a room. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful, I recently did the same thing. I changed to lighter colors, sage, dusty rose and creams, plaids, shear curtains. I was amazed at how much it lightened my bedroom. Your drapes are adorable. Thanks for sharing
I love the covered plug and light switch plates, understood your reluctance to paint the wardrobe but agree with your decision. I think the dark mirror was too heavy looking and think it wouldn’t have needed the frame on the other door to look balanced if the mirror had been lighter looking. Your small bedroom is lovely. I really appreciate you giving hints on making small rooms look larger.
This room is gorgeous, wish I had one like this , and you really got some wonderful deals on your Thrift finds, that picture for only $5 was a steal. It’s gorgeous with the pick flowers, and I love the little table, glade you redid it the way you did. The whole too is just gorgeous, should be in a magazine.♥️♥️♥️👍👍
Everything fit perfectly in the room and does not look clutter or crowded. I appreciate all the used items so much. I try to buy used whenever possible. They are truly special and unique.
I think you'll oh my goodness! That room is so incredibly cozy. Anyone would love to spend the night in your lovely home if they get to sleep in that room. I especially love the makeover of the armoire. What a difference and what a beautiful color you selected. Thanks for sharing this wonderful inspiration😊
I just adore all your decor and how you teach me to balance a room decor with your creativity , I learn so much , you are about my most favorite of decorator and unique crafter ..thank you so very much .
What a stunning makeover!! I love watching what you create every week and I always get inspired by you. I’m always hesitant to paint over wood furniture and you do it fearlessly and beautifully. The painted armoire is absolutely perfect for the room. I would have never thought that the black bed would look right with the wallpaper, but of course you were right. The black frames above the black bed really looked lovely. A TRICK I learned years ago when hanging art on a wallpapered wall- using an exacto knife, cut a small “V” in the wallpaper. Then carefully peel and fold the tip of the V up to expose the wall beneath. Be careful not to tear or remove the point. Just fold the V up. Then hammer your nail into the bare wall. This will allow you to remove the nail in the future without leaving a nail hole in the wallpaper. Just fold the V you cut back down to cover the hole, using a dab of glue if needed. You can move your art around later without leaving a bunch of holes in your wallpaper. 😊❤
The placement of the bed against the wallpaper, coupled with the placement of the pictures is just gorgeous! Such detailing...and those drapes are very pretty too!! Stunning small guest room. 😍
Sherry, your talent is beautifully outrageous!!!!. If I wanted to open a B&B I would only do it if you agreed to decorate it.....What a calm, peaceful and comfortable room. I have to stop now because I'm gushing!!!
Oh yes, absolutely beautiful. It wouldn’t bother me a bit to stay there night. So comfortable looking and peaceful…..❤ just love it. Keep them coming.❤
You transformed the "ironing" room into a beautiful retreat. I think the bed linens and accessories made this room come to life. Using the armoire to display art work and a mirror was a bold move. I did something similar to the small door leading to my basement. I visualize a softer fabric for the ribbon. I thought the solid green ribbon was a bit stiff, but that's just me. I really admire your creativity.
OMG Sherry you have created a warm and cozy new room. It just makes you want to curl up and read a book or take a Cozy nap. You should have been a decorator. I love your room transformations. ❤😊
My favorite part is the odd, skinny shelf. Absolutely something that I would swoop on or have cart envy over in a thrift shop! My favorite items to decorate with are always the ones that people say ,"Oooh, I love that! What was it originally?" and I can jump in excitedly with, "Who knows, but I got it for only $2.99 at the thrift store!"😂🤣
Yes! Ever since seeing a couple of pieces I’ve turned into other pieces, my preacher’s wife and her mother love to go thrifting and find “challenge items” for me to make over! 😁
Oh Sherry…your guest room is so sweet, the wallpaper is stunning and I really love the armoire painted. You did a great job. But what I really thought was charming was the picture and mirror you hung on the armoire… I would have never thought to do anything like that… I love it !!! You have such a talent for decorating. Thanks for sharing Karen from Florida 🌴💕
I have just bought a new house and have a couple of spare bedrooms. I want to replicate what you have done here in one of them. Absolutely love this. Thank you for your time
You are amazing and quite the designer. I could just fall into dreams in that perfect bedroom. I love the wallpaper. Now that's something I haven't done in over 40 years. The armoire came out gorgeous. All the while I kept thinking to myself how proud your husband must be. The first time I ever wallpapered was one wall in the master bedroom of my first home way back in 1979. My husband was so proud because it was the first time and it came out so well. Thank you Sherry for sharing this makeover with some added tips..♥️♥️♥️
I love the trick of hanging a picture on the wall just above the shelf. I have an old shelf that I want to paint and distress for my bedroom and I am going to use your hack for something directly above my shelf.
I’m no longer surprised at anything Sherry does. I simply watch in rapt fascination as she creates beautiful spaces then perfectly explains her process. Then I look around my house to see where I can copy her design… yeah I said it… imitation is the most sincere form of flattery!! Side note…. The wardrobe makeover was stunning and hanging the mirror on it was creative genius!
What a beautiful room! I love the William Morris wallpaper, and I really appreciate all the excellent tips to make a small room seem larger and brighter. I was thrilled to see your lovely bird lamp in the room. I love the way you refinished the armoire, and actually -- every single detail of your re-do. ❤
I am totally blown away....This room looks crazy good. It has to be the best makeover that you have ever done. Magazine worthy for sure....Great job!!!!
I love that color of William Morris paper. It really makes that room pop. And that trick with the paper in the light switches was genius. I love the entire makeover. Thanks for sharing.
I would never have said this was my style, but goodness me,you made it look amazing. Cosy but not cluttered looking, so inviting. And your tips for making the room look brighter and bigger are terrific. Thank you so much I really enjoyed this one.
I have a wonderful tip if you are going to pound a nail on a wallpapered wall. Before you hammer the nail, take an exact knife and cut a small v into the wallpaper. Wow, great tip!
Thank you for this tip!
Great idea!!
It works great too!
I’d keep the door propped open, from now on, to give yourself a smile of satisfaction every time you walk past it!
I’m sure she kept the door shut just for video purposes. So it would be an amazing reveal… and it was !!!
I just want to say your sons are very handsome! I have 3 handsome sons myself.
She can support u from now on get he ass home
Absolutely beautiful!! Congratulations.❤❤
Sherry, another one of your decorative pieces of art. What a cozy and inviting room. The statement says, "you are welcomed in our home and we are glad you are here". Your guests may never want to leave😮. That wallpaper is beautiful and the armoire matches perfectly. A stunning success!
What paint color is this please? I love this channel.
Love the paper and the wooden cabinet you painted but I think it is much prettier without the mirror and picture, love everything else so beautiful
I didn’t like the mirror on the door either. I thought the mirror would look better where the plates were.
Agreed!
The mirror and picture don't sit right with me either.
I can’t agree more
Loved how you turned that skinny shelf into such an attractive display feature
Can it be passed safely without knocking things off in that narrow walkway?
I would have put the plates somewhere else and hung that mirror with the ribbon there. Seems like the perfect place to check your appearance before you leave the room. It’s very cozy and I like the decor ❤
Yes, I agree. I just wanted to try something different, but I will probably move the mirror.
Ditto
Agree totally!

Thinking of you & hoping you find some happiness from all the love you shared!! You and your husband are an inspiration.
I also like it all apart from the mirror and picture hanging on the wardrobe. The wardrobe is so pretty, it doesn't need the distraction
Nothing soothes my soul more than seeing buttery cream going over prison drab gray. 😊
I know! How did I ever convince myself that I liked gray?! I think we were brainwashed!
I believe you are correct. The black anchors the room and balances the femininity in the room.
I am with you can't stand gray walls or cabinets. But I surely like the buttery creams. I hope gray has run its course.
@@nancyevans5502 Gray walls always looked so gloomy to me.
Grey should be banned, never understood how to took off
So cozy, but in my humble opinion that armoire is much too pretty to be covered by a mirror and a pic. You did an excellent job painting it. The room is very adorable now💕
Agree. If anything needed to be on it, I would have hung the plates on it, two on each side, and the mirror where the plates are.
I love the armoire and was amazed at how it enhanced the wallpaper upon completion. Not a fan of adding stuff to the armoire.
I agree, love what she did with it. Looks expensive $
I agree and think it was just too busy. And the mirror became difficult to use because of the big floppy ribbon.
Love the room but there’s no room on the side table for a guest to put anything!
I love the room. I'd be interested to see it again in about a year. My guess is the drapes and mirror on the armoire will be different as you find something you like better or just can't help yourself wanting change. What a gorgeous bedroom, I would never want to leave it! The armoire is STUNNING and I love the wallpaper! You did a beautiful job, Sherry!

That is such a lovely space now. Your guests will think they are staying at a high end Hotel or Inn. So warm and welcoming. Make over videos are always fun to watch, and you present ideas we can all achieve.
Now, that's a bedroom designed for sweet dreams!
How pretty! I wouldn't mind being a guest in that room at all. It feels like a hug to your soul.
That "orange" Armoire, over powered the room. That pretty green helped it to visually sink, and fits the room much better. ❤
You are SO right! I wish I had thought of that (to say in the video)!
I loved everything you did in this room. Your guest may not want to leave. Its such a wonderful and soothing color scheme.
Girl!!
You are the most clever decorator I know, just really and truly.
Your ideas and the things you do always amaze me.
This is now like the perfect extra bedroom and I'll tell you why that armoire never looked better than after you painted it.
Just gorgeous Sherry
Love everything about this cozy, calming, inviting bedroom. If I were a guest, I might never leave!
Lovely--I like how you don't hesitate to make things over. This might be my favorite of all your room makeovers! I love to see how you use thrifted finds to create a cohesive space. ❤
I’ve watched you since your very 1st video. When I win the lottery I’m going to pay you half to come decorate my house!!
🤣🤣🤣 I had that very same thought, not even 5 minutes ago!! Great minds, and all that. 😉😁
I love it all except the pieces hanging on the beautiful armoire.
Me too 👍
Yes. Spoils the facade of the beautiful armoire.
That’s exactly what I said!
Agree! It was better before
@@mimime9968…but good to have a mirror there…so maybe a less bulky one?..☺️
Wowwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!! Sherry, you've outdone yourself. I LOVE the vintage side table and how you styled it.....the mirror behind the lamp...I never would have thought about that. I'm coming for a sleepover hahaha
It’s an amazing renovation! Others have addressed the things on the armoire. The only other thing that kind of bothered me were the rabbit and nonworking clock on the small table. Simply beautiful and cozy. Great update of the armoire. The framed art within the wall shelf display added the perfect touch.
So charming!!❤️
Can’t wait for the next room makeover 🙂
You can’t go wrong with William Morris 👍🏻❤️👍🏻❤️ anything. I also just love that odd shelf and the paint technique on the wardrobe, too.
A lovely restful place.
I could watch you decorate all day! Its just beautiful.
What a beautiful space! You are so talented.
This lovely room says " oh, you are so welcome to be here with us in our home!" I learned so much from you in this makeover. I live in small living quarters and will be using your design principles to refresh my rooms. Thank you for your clear tutorials.
I would have never thought to hang things on an armoire. Thanks for sharing your creativity. The room is beautiful.
The bird lamp is my favorite thing in the room - sooo cute. I also love the needlepoint pillow. Beautiful room!
Sherry this is so beautiful. Clever you. William Morris wallpaper never fails to impress me. The wardrobe turned out fabulous. Love that square table too. You are a genius.
This room is actually one of my favorite rooms, that you have done. It has just the right amount of decor and knickknacks.❤❤❤
Makes me want to start redecorating my "bunk and junk" room. :)
Oh that looks like a perfect getaway it’s lovely
It’s absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤
How exquisite! Soft creamy colors mixed with the rich accents of the dark furniture made for calming country charm. Any guest would be delighted to spend time in this room!
What a beautiful transformation ❤❤❤ You have such good taste and vision in your decor!!!
It is amazing that you do everything yourself without any Helper.
It's so peaceful in the room. Everything flows gracefully & lovely.
Absolutely love the wallpaper and the way you painted the armoire
This demonstration and narrative was excellent, in my opinion. I felt I was so well informed, I could do the same thing myself.
Sherry, the room is so pretty and cozy, everything works so good together! I love your room makeovers! ❤
Thank you so much, Libby!
Great job and I love the educational info on your decision s
Happy Day! A new Canterbury Cottage video!
Hope you enjoyed it, Kira!
All I can say is WOW!!!! it's so cozy if I were to sleep there, I would not want to leave the room. Lol. Love it!!!
I love the cabinet color. Very nice makeover.
Very inspiring. I love the busy patterns of William Morris myself. They make it very cosy.
What a lovely, welcoming room! Your guests won't want to leave-

What a great job you did refreshing this room! One suggestion: leave the armoire doors alone (don't hang anything on them).
Everything fit perfectly in the room and does not look clutter or crowded. I appreciate all the used items so much. I try to buy used whenever possible. They are truly special and unique.
That is a Precious room❤❤❤😊
I think that is the most beautiful room in your house! The armoire is perfect.
Beautiful
Thank you, Nancy!

Any guest lucky enough to slumber in this beautiful bedroom will be enchanted. Sweet dreams are guaranteed. 😊
Looks like my small pillow rm, going to get busy fixing it, thank you so much
Every time you remake a room, it never ceases to amaze me. I just love William Morris so much, the mirror on the hutch is so clever and interesting. ❤
The black frames above the black bed really looked
lovely. A TRICK I learned years ago when hanging art on a wallpapered wall- using an exacto knife, cut a small “V” in the wallpaper. Had to jump back on as I forget to say your bird lamp DIY with the rattan lampshade against the Wm Morris wallpaper is perfection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It turned out gorgeous! I usually don’t like wallpaper, but that is absolutely gorgeous!!!
The room looks beautiful. I love the floral design. I think the armoire is the star of the show. It doesn’t even look like the same piece. Stunning.
Just absolutely warm & inviting 😊
The placement of the bed against the wallpaper, coupled with the placement of the pictures is just gorgeous! Such detailing...and those drapes are very pretty too!! Stunning small guest room. 😍
What a stunning result! I love the dark bed with the lighter tones. The room has real character!🥰

OMGoodness the armoire just transformed that room. It seems to melt into the wall. Perfect match. Amazing
What a big difference the green made on the Armoire. It now looks like a Paris flea market fine Beautiful. Well done Sherry.
I love the trick of hanging a picture on the wall just above the shelf. I have an old shelf that I want to paint and distress for my bedroom and I am going to use your hack for something directly above my shelf.
I like that bed too. It’s a four poster. Works for me.

I love that color of William Morris paper. It really makes that room pop. And that trick with the paper in the light switches was genius. I love the entire makeover. Thanks for sharing.
You broke my heart when you painted that beautiful wardrobe.
20:55 And hung stuff on the front! Just too much "decoration".
Another beautiful room. I love your sense of style. You’ve created an inviting harmonious space. Thank you for sharing this video
I would never have said this was my style, but goodness me,you made it look amazing. Cosy but not cluttered looking, so inviting. And your tips for making the room look brighter and bigger are terrific. Thank you so much I really enjoyed this one.
