- A test of the Fuji XT2 autofocus with the newly revamped Firmware 3.0! Overall it's still a bit jittery with a bit of hunting in the background - but it's an improvement.

The tests were performed with the multi (wide area zone) autofocus paired with setting 1 (multi) and setting 3 (accelerating/decelerating) AFC setting.
The hunting seems to be drastically improved over the previous firmware and dependant on the setting seems to be quite accurate. I still think there's a still bit of hunting, even if the subject is stationary which may be an issue for some. Biggest improvement seems to be when the you go from near to far focus, it seems snappy and 'rolls over' quite nicely.

Thanks for the vid Matt. I'm still finding my X-T2 hunts way too much on a stationary subject and I think it may even be worse now after the 3.0 Firmware update :( Not sure if it's just mine though as yours didn't seem to hunt anywhere near as much.

Ha ha kind of Nick..... I bought an X-H1 LOL :P Honestly I haven't been using the X-T2 in continuous focus lately. Just either manual or single AF and then just locking it off. I've only had the X-H1 a couple of days so still in testing phase but so far it's a lot better for continuous AF.
I tried the XH1 the other day actually! Shot some slow mo video and 4k and the footage looks super good! The continuous autofocus as well actually has a really smooth roll over that looks quite professional. Good pickup on the XH1 - how are you finding the ibis?
Also the hunting i've found gets erratically worse depending on what type of AF algorithm you have it set to.
It's not good. It's not on par with the Panasonic GH5.
