    What limited me most last time I wanted to make a night-time time-lapse with my X-T3 was that it didn't allow for the duration of exposure time I would've needed. Thus, the whole time-lapse was way to dim.
    I'll probably have to get a remote that allows for longer manual trigger times or a gimbal that supports that functionality over my Weebill S.

    When you shoot, does the X-t4 make a movie in camera? Also does it save the images as stills in a separate folder?

    Sorry I have maybe a stupid question.
    So after shooting I then have something like 1000 photos, but how do I turn them into a movie?
    Thanks for your video and information.

      You can import photos as individual frames in most video editing software like Davinci Resolve. Depending on your "frame rate" 24 or 30 frames will make up 1 second of moving images. Look up "time lapse" tutorials for further info

    Great video, tx! I own two XT-3's but never done any timelapses. This june I will go on a 4-day trekking trip in the alps and will try timelapses for the first time. One question, when I set image to RAW, auto WB is not a problem right? In PP is wil adjust the WB to alle photos.

      Hi Bart. Theoretically, yes. But, you're adding in an additional step to rely on. I'm not a photography purist at all, but my thinking would be to always aim for consistent recordings to begin with. I still regularly f*ck up my settings when in a rush and that's the biggest cause of disappointment for me.

    I have a question. When a cloud covers light condition change. So what do you do to overcome this. Do you use aperture priority mode to keep the exposure constant?

    • @DieterVanHolder
      @DieterVanHolder  2 роки тому +1

      That is always a difficult one. My advice is to keep everything set at manual with a guesstimate of what the clouds will do or you will get weird flickering.
      Coincidentally I just uploaded a video on how to get cloud cover forecasts

      @@DieterVanHolder What I thought was not going for a manual. Go for aperture priority. We set the aperture. ISO fixed, then the camera will decide the shutter speed to keep the same exposure. Will it not work?

    • @DieterVanHolder
      @DieterVanHolder  2 роки тому +2

      @@HarshaPerera in all likelihood your camera will make changes that will unfortunately be visible in the final results

    how would you do the settings for day/night timelapses?

    • @DieterVanHolder
      @DieterVanHolder  Рік тому +1

      This is a difficult one that I've often misjudged. Depending on what type of light you get, you need to aim ait or below your day values. I found (this summer) that for Golden Hour in the morning I was best off setting it for daylight and then starting off with near black images while still dark. It goes FAST. I'd rather have a bit longer of too dark than having my images burnt out when the beautiful light hits.
