I would also use a leaf blower to blast the excess water away and let the car sit for 24 hours before starting it. When I do this I park it in the sun with the hood popped to help dry things out. I would also say, if you aren't driving a show car....who cares if the engine bay is dirty. Just make sure it is free of debris and keep driving.

The proper way to detail an engine bay has been created a year or two ago. The main product that currently has no competitor, is Koch Chemie MotorPlast. Only engine bay Detailer that isn't just a plastic and rubber dressing, it creates a protective hydrophobic layer that also prevents metals from corroding. So far its the only dressing made specifically for engines, as it's made for all the materials, and it's heat resistant. It last at least 6 months, I can't remember exactly how long, but it's the only of its kind. And with these types of processes, it's best to stay within brands since it's a prep and protect process. Koch Chemie Greenstar is their All Purpose Cleaner (APC's are safer than degreasers yet act as one, whereas degreasers are not necessarily automotive safe, however they are still cost effective and get the job done so APC isn't absolutely necessary) and is not to he used at any less than 1:3. It's so concentrated that 1:5 is considered full strength, while every other degreaser or APC comes full strength. Anyways, GreenStar along with some brushes, Rags, or whatever else you may use to agitate the engine bay, cleans it, and right after rinsing, you spray MotorPlast to protect all engine bay materials from corrosion. Once MotorPlast is sprayed on the wet engine, it is simply rinsed off and ready to air dry. Again, it lasts for at least 6 months, and protects all materials unlike typical engine bay dressings, which are really just rubber or plastic dressings that don't smell really bad or smoke too much when the engine runs for the first time after being detailed (mostly from being on the metal, which they're not designed for). I hope this comment helps someone who wants better engine details than the industry standard

For those who don't know, the alternator isn't always in the open/risk of being sprayed, but if it is visible from the hood, it's basically a metal cage with a giant copper wire spool. That's the only thing you have to cover to properly and completely safely clean the engine bay, unless you have a cold air intake, the exposed filter media thats used for performance/tuning, rather than being buried in plastic tubing like regular cars come with from factory. The alternators the important part though, if anyone has questions, concerns, or confusions about whether their car has these to worry about, I'm happy and able to help through these comments. Degreaser is very harsh on connectors plastics and all other components on the engine and leaves it very dry. The best way is to use WD-40 to loosen up old grease and dust. That engine bay looks really nice, but I just can't stand front wheel drive!!! I don't like the transverse engine and transaxle setup, unless it's put over the rear wheels, like the old Toyota MR2, and I had a 1991 Turbo about ten years ago that I miss so bad that I still have the VIN memorized. It was so cool, how the one side intake had the intercooler for the turbocharger, and the other side intake was the actual engine air intake. The longitudinal engine with transmission, drive shaft and rear differential is so much better and easier to service! That's how my 1995 Mazda Miata is, that I've had for about the last seven years. It's so much easier to just start driving at stop signs or red lights, because I can basically just give it as much throttle as I want, because the weight shifting back just puts even more traction on the powered wheels. Plus, with the Torsen limited slip differential, I can legitimately drift and do donuts, when the ground is wet or snowy, and that's REALLY fun! Plus I just like the division of labor in my car. The rear wheels provide the power, while the front wheels do the steering and braking, since deceleration makes the weight shift forward, and the weight distribution is 50/50 in cars like mine, but cars like Civics are front heavy, since that's where all of the major parts are. The Prelude even had like a 65% front weight bias, and that's horrible! You want a slight rear bias, or 50/50. Sorry for the rant, but I think most people just don't know how much better rear wheel drive cars are. It's so frustrating to see how many cars were rear wheel drive at one point, but they changed them, like the Toyota Corolla, for example.

Asegurar las conexiones eléctricas para evitar fugas y corrosión
No usar tanta agua directamente
Yo recomendaría limpiar por partes, primero un lado sea izquierdo o derecho y ya después el otro, así considero mas seguro
I love this woman!!!
Idk y im so apprehensive about cleaning the engine bay. 25 year old woman with a few repairs under my belt (motor mounts, thermostats, coolant flushes, AC blower motor) and I still refuse to soap that engine bay up and put water on it lol it does look so pretty though. I love ur car girl! Very nice! I have a civic too 💁🏽♀️
You can use E-Z Off Oven Cleaner also
What about the electrical cables and connectors?
It's the happy beautiful racer chick
She did a great job washing that engine! Better than what most so called professionals do with their pressure washers.
Misfiring is laughing 😂at the corner
She is the prettiest woman I've ever seen, wow!
Cover all tire shine for end results last long and shine is amazing.
It is nice that you didn't use a presurized water washer, especially near the electrical connectors.
You can it'll be ok just bag your Aftermarket intake or inlet and your good
Honda is just beautiful
I could only say I like your work and I would like to be working with you.😂😊😊😊
I've been watching your videos for a year, it's incredible how long-lasting your shoes and jeans are, he always wears the same clothes.
One thing you should do that I swear by is to spray the entire engine bay afterwards with Meguiar's Supreme Shine protectant as a final touch. Makes everything look shiny, glossy, brand new. Trust me!
Honestly I always thought to couldn't ger your engine wet like that because you could damage your alternator. I have a 1995 Civic Coupe that a purchased in 1995 and I have never cleaned my engine. Smh! Thanks!
car looks great with that jdm kit
Nice front end 😅🔥
that wont damage any electrical components?
Your very good at the jobs. ❤
Question. What about the alternator.
Crees k es correcto con agua del grifo o agua destilada
Cat delete ? Did u keep regular exhaust resonator and muffler I need to get my old car off of there but wasn’t quite sure what the 2.4 sounded like hollowed out
Make sure you cover your carburetor as well
I love the first 2 seconds
Did you do this with a cold motor or slightly warm?
What about covering the alternator?
The most important part of that process is to make sure all of that degreaser is washed down the storm drain! It's not at all toxic! 😂😂
I'm doing that weekend should I cover the turbo
Looks really good from here great job come wash mine might have to stand on a ladder for the truck though it’s 4x4
"Going to go ahead" - 'Murican proverb
