Thanks again, Jeff, for these helpful videos. I researched windows for about a year before actually talking to any dealers. But when I was ready I spoke with about 7 dealers over two weeks. I had a 4 page list of questions I typed up and had on a clipboard as I was talking with them. Didn't necessarily ask them every question on my list, but it was nice to have it written out so I wouldn't forget.
I'm pleased to say most of their quotes seemed very reasonable. Only one played the pricing game. Started off at 44k and got him down to 28k before he left, and a week later he called back with 24k. But I had already signed a contract with another dealer for a less expensive window I felt better about.
Another thing to be aware of is that sometimes salesmen don't come with a sample unit, or they come with a different window than the one you were interested in. One thing I would recommend is make a list of several companies with windows you are interested in and find out if they have a showroom. If they have a showroom, ask to visit their showroom before having them out at your home. That way you can be sure that you get to see the windows in person before you buy.
I'm real excited about the windows I did ultimately order, and looking forward to installation in a couple months!

We(us, our contractor and the supply company rep)made a mistake with several of our window measurements when we ordered from Windsor over a week ago and didn’t realize it until today. Panicked, we called the supply house to see if we could stop the initial order and correct our mistake, but were told that we couldn’t make changes after 24 hours from order. This would’ve cost us in the range of 7k, but we called Windsor and was able to speak to a regional sales manager who canceled the initial wrong order and let us reorder the correct sizes without penalty. It was important to him that we got the right windows. I’m a Windsor fan.

Love your videos. Watched a ton of them. Thanks for doing them.
We had three guys out for quotes here in Phoenix. Our little cracker box home was built in 1998 and has typical builder grade dual pane window aluminum or steel framed windows.
We are looking to replace them with more energy efficient and quieter windows. 1400 sq ft 3 bedroom 2 bath stucco home. 11 windows and 1 5' sliding glass door.
First guy quoted about $12,350 for Simonton Daylight max. Retrofit installation. It looked like a nice enough window. The miter corners could have been a little cleaner. Glass had a little green tint that was a bit concerning.
Another guy quoted one of your favorites Anlin, Del Mar at 14,000. Seems like a much nicer window for not too much more. The Anlin more of a normal grey shade to the glass and way cleaner corners.
Both prices seem high to us but like your videos states can't compare to the cheaper windows.
Do you think 14,000 for 11 Anlin windows and 1 Anlin Malibu slider is an Ok price?
PS you so right..I think we made two new friends with these windows guys. They should bring Pizza with them if they stay that long.. LOL

I think they both sound quite fair at their pricing. I would definitely select the Anlin product any day. In fact, it's the best value of those two products even though it cost more money.

I asked this one place that called me up. Where is your showroom? They first asked me for my info. I asked again and I haven't heard from them again.

Jeff I sell Andersons full line as well as Simonton. Could you please advise in the future towards Simonton as it is with Plygem the largest vinyl manufacturer in North America.

Hi Jeff. Do you know anything about the Addison series single hung window. Quoted a price of 19,000 for 17 windows. Most are about 70” tall. With extreme 2 pane low E and argon gas. Virgin vinyl. Would appreciate your advice on this. Thank you

Is double strength glass the same as impact glass?

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  Рік тому +1

No, double strength glass means it is 1/8" thick or greater. Impact glass is double strength glass with a liner in the middle of the glass that prevents penetration.
