    Was the plug to the connector oily? My 99 is having cc issues and the plug is wet from what I would assume is brake fluid.

      @Soladaddy  Рік тому +1

      Mine was wet from a booster leak, but the internal part of the plug was dry.

    Is yours an EARLY '99? I just replaced mine on my LATE '99 w/o removing anything. The old switch takes a 9/16" wrench and the new one a 7/8" which I didn't have so I got a medium/large adjustable wrench in no problem.

      Yes, it is an early 99. I probably could have replaced it without moving anything,.

    Did the light still come on when you hit the cruise on button?

    Did you have to rebleed brakes after changing?

    • @Soladaddy
      @Soladaddy  Рік тому

      I did bleed the brakes a few months later as the fluid was very old. Made a huge difference in braking power.

    Recently bought my 2000 SD. Ordered sensor but found new sensor had been installed and found an old work order where the sensor and fuse had been replaced. I checked the larger fuse in the harness but it was good. I found a second smaller taped up 2A fuse in the harness which was blown. R&R fuse fixed CC.

    • @Soladaddy
      @Soladaddy  3 роки тому

      Good find. That fuse harness was a recall "fix" for some sensors overheating and causing fires.

      Hey man, i don’t know much about the harness and wanted to know if you had a way to share what you did for me? i already tired what the video did and i don’t want to replace the buttons yet. Anything will help! Thank you

      @@chasethompson2097 A recall added a fuse in the line to the sensor and Ford made a small harness to house the fuse with connectors to connect into the existing harness. I didn't change that, just replaced the sensor. There are other items that can mess with cruise control and I've heard the brake pedal switch is a common issue. The way my cruise control stopped working led me the the sensor and my hunch was correct.

    Did your lights on the dash not light up for the cruise control when that sensor went out?

    My horn, cruise control switches don’t work on my 02 f-250, I have been told it could be the clock spring? I don’t know much about it. Any input?

    • @Soladaddy
      @Soladaddy  2 роки тому

      I've heard about the clockspring causing that, but have never seen that issue myself.

    • @dev-debug
      @dev-debug 2 роки тому

      I had same symptoms but it was 2 different issues on my 95 F150. I replaced the clockspring but it did nothing so trouble shoot first. My horn issue was simple corrosion at the horn itself. Have not fixed cruise control yet but did eliminate the pressure switch and fuses being the issue. Will have to dig into wiring further before I go hunting for a working CC actuator.

    I have a expedition 1999 xlt v8. The cruiser doesn’t work, but i don’t know which piece i have to change. Maybe a fuse or this piece what we watched in this tutorial. help me please ! ✌️

    • @Soladaddy

      The Exp may have the recall too. I checked the fuses first and found nothing wrong anywhere. Just took an educated guess that the sensor was bad so replaced it and so happened to correct the issue. Check for the correct part number on rock auto, then shop around for the best price and if its not too much $$$ maybe try the parts swap. I'd try to buy from a place that has a good return policy.

      @Soladaddy  3 роки тому

      Some claim in the superdutys that the brake pedal switch can go bad. I haven't been down that road, but was the next item I was planning on checking.

      Yes, it can be changed with it in place.. Had a better view to see with it out of the way.

    • @Soladaddy
      @Soladaddy  6 місяців тому

      The buttons on the steering wheel can stop working. Sometimes I have to hold the "On" button for 2-3 seconds to activate cruise control. Others have had issues with the brake pedal switch that disengages cruise control.

    • @PTTrue-mu5rq
      @PTTrue-mu5rq 6 місяців тому

      Ya I tried replace circuit breaker and the brake pedal release sensor checked all my fuses, wires. It's probably the buttons or something in the steering wheel. Hoping it'll be something fast and easy but nothing I've looked up on UA-cam has been helpful. Had a problem with the truck not building boost and all it was is vacum line that hooks to fire wall, really simple fix but no one talks about that potentially being an issue. So if you ever have a problem with boost check your vacuum line that hooks to the fire wall I think it's for the wast gate mine was not plugged in. at the time i didn't know any better, Felt really stupid because of how simple it was😅. Truck is 1997 f250 heavy duty
