People can shit on Yngwie all they want but the fact remains that his place in rock guitar history is secure and NO opinion of him will change that...

Actually in 100 or 1000 years time Yngwie will not be remembered as a player or for his music, I mean NO CHANCE! But I guarantee Hendrix, EVH, etc will be remembered and obviously the music of Queen (Brian May), Led Zeppelin (Jimmy Page), etc will be remembered too. Was Yngwie influential when he emerged in the 80's mainly to metalheads in to technical playing? Yes but so what that influence and impact is nothing compared to that of Hendrix, EVH, etc. Yngwie's music and compositions SUCK there is no getting around that even his better stuff is garbage compared to Led Zeppelin, Queen, Deep Purple, etc compositions. Great songs universally acclaimed as classics up there with Smoke On The Water, Stairway To Heaven, etc by Yngwie? NONE! Great riffs up there with Whole Lotta Love, Smoke On The Water, Layla, etc by Yngwie? NONE! The rock/metal market is huge all types (speed, thrash, aor, etc) yet very few now have an interest in what Yngwie does which says it all really.

I think Yngwie’s issue is his production

@@CloudsBeyond Smoke On The Water...are you serious, 6 yo can play it, Ma;msteen has written dozens of killer songs, he is not to blame that there were great musicians before him. Unlike musicians you mentioned who were MAINSTREAM, Yng has always been outside of mainstream, he has never had support from media and record business. You are just another hater, your number is 9,258,147

@@sergeykras4599 Deep Purple - Smoke On The Water, The Beatles, Hendrix, etc are by real musicians and songwriters. Try learn the difference between real musicians/songwriters and stunt guitarists like Yngwie, Michael Angelo Batio, Chris Impellitteri, etc, it is actually deeply offensive to compare such people to Clapton, Hendrix, Led Zeppelin/Jimmy Page, The Beatles, etc. The reality is with the exception of die hard Yngwie fans nobody is interested in the garbage he is knocking out these days, the rock/metal market is huge all types but few are interested in what he does because they know his live band sucks, Yngwie cannot sing well and studio albums are incompetently produced homemade efforts. As for outside the mainstream - Yngwie tried hard especially in 80's early 90's for commercial success but failed badly in Europe and US could have/should have/would have - dropped the silly YJM's Rising Force and just called it e.g. Rising Force, been less self indulgent, hire co songwriters, etc. Guitarists like e.g. Joe Satriani is best selling rock instrumental player ever and people are still interested in what he does and he works with top notch musicians and records in the best studios, he is still relevant whilst Yngwie now is totally irrelevant. In 100 or 1000 years from now there is NO WAY Yngwie will be remembered alongside Hendrix, EVH, Clapton, etc and that says it all really. Even Ritchie Blackmore said decades ago Yngwie needs to calm down and focus on songwriting but he never listened! Nobody is hating I'm just pointing out reality.
Would you much rather Yngwie hire a top singer or do a project like Timo Tolkki, Magnus Karlsson, etc with several singers, instead of singing himself (or Marino)? YES. Well you must be a hater then.
Would you much rather Yngwie hire top notch musicians instead of that Spinal Tap Mark II live band he has now? YES. Well you must be a hater then.
Would you much rather Yngwie hire a top producer or co producer? YES. Well you must be a hater. Compare the AWFUL production & sound quality on World On Fire, Blue Lightning, etc to Fire & Ice, The Seventh Sign, etc.

I have all Y.M. albums, even a YJM Fender (2008 model). My favorite guitar players are YJM, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Joe Satriani, Ritchie Blackmore, Steve Vai, Gary Moore, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Brian May and Jimi Hendrix. Yngwie is fantastic, long live to the Maestro! I liked the Blue Lighting album, cool versions. My favorite cover by Yngwie is Keep Yourself Alive (Queen cover). I like Speed King and Lazy (D. Purple), Light Up the Sky (EVH), MR. Crowley (OZZY), Beat it (Michael) and some other covers (variations , new versions) by Malmsteen like Spanish Castle Magic (Jimi).
