  • I ran into Kelly again out in Baltimore. She goes more into her story and also tells what's been going on since the last time we spoke. She lost her glasses recently, and also had a serious scare with tranq. She thought they were going to have to amputate her right arm because of it. She details how people are now mixing stuff they get at CVS and selling it to people. She has hopes to get clean, but think she needs to go out of state somewhere and get away from Baltimore.

The KEY to getting FREE is to get away from the crowd you're hanging with. I know, some will disagree, saying the addict can go to any city and score within minutes. But I'm speaking from experience. You must cut all those ties to that dark world. Hope Kelly makes that choice. If she is truly willing, I would be willing to donate, even it's just a small amount. I pray she does take the help offered to her, as she admitted herself, she cannot do it on her own. But there is help out there. She is beautiful and has a true purpose in life. Maybe it's to help others after her recovery.

The key to personal freedom is by holding yourself to a higher personal standard, and regardless of the situation drugs and alcohol are not ever the solution, no matter what.

I know this to be true and it saved my life, moving away to a whole new place where I knew no one but my child hood friend who has never done drugs in her life. I packed my three kids, our clothes and the dog and drove 7 hours to a whole new state where I couldn't have copped if I wanted to. I went to a methadone clinic the very next morning at sunrise and it saved my life. This was 16 years ago when heroin was still heroin. I was a raging IV heroin addict. Functioning addict. I never had CPS involved in my life which was my biggest fear. I finally made the decision to leave everything behind because I knew I would never stay clean in the same environment. This past June 9th was my 16 year clean anniversary and I thank God for every single day. I am convinced I would be dead if I was still using now that it's Fentanyl and not real heroin. I pray for everyone still stuck in the life of addiction. But there is hope. We do recover. ❤

I speak from experience. Wherever you go, there you are. I moved five hundred miles from home to get off heroin, only to become a full blown alcoholic. I'm seven months sober from all of that.

She’s a diamond in the rough for sure. Godspeed Kelly. There’s so many programs in Maryland. Not BALTIMORE. Stop making excuses. I’ve been on and off what used to be Heroin for 30 yrs. It’s not Baltimore, it’s not being homeless, it’s not because we caught a bad hand in the game of life. It’s because of my thinking. It’s because I don’t want to stop getting high, and finally take responsibility for the mess I’ve made of my life. Happy to say I have finally did that. Where? East Baltimore. Where I grew up, got high, and ran wild. I’ve been to Cali, Florida, Mo, Pa, Tx, OH, WV. Maybe more. I took me and my defeated attitude with me. Kelly has the same opportunity as any of us. Recovery is not for people that need it, or even want it really bad. It’s for people that are willing to work for it. Love the channel man. I’m a new sub. Keep up the good work. Hopefully some follow ups will be a happy ending.

Im a high functioning addict. I have a two bed apartment, a nice car, a 750 credit score, money saved, I get paid $27 a hour but I am not too different. I have an open wound on my leg right now from using because of poor blood flow. I use to watch intervention as a kid idk how I ended up here. But I feel like our open wounds should be showin across every high school in America mandatory because if I would have seen the wound I have today, I would have NEVER tried dope. My body is disgusting. I hate myself. I use to be the most beautiful girl. It makes you never want to stop using because if I stop now, it doesn’t change anything.

Hi Marlene. What's "not as bad as methadone"?
The reason why I ask is because here in Nanny State Australia they're taking all patients off opiate medication.
I've been taking morphine for pain relief for over 24 years for chronic pain due to a 'terminal' vascular disease.
My only option for pain relief now is to be prescribed methadone.

I have 17 years clean I’ve lived in Baltimore my whole life I was homeless drug addict. There are more than enough resources for people who are trying to change their lives. I don’t care about the percentages. I know it’s possible.

@@user-wg9hd8tn8k I’m also in recovery and I think it’s really tough. I work in the recovery field, and many people have a lot of barriers to recovery, some of which may be internal, but many of which are tangible. That’s almost said besides the point, though, if you’ve studied the neurobiology of addiction. That’s the biggest reason people may want to recover, very badly, and struggle to do it.
