this is my mother, she may have not been the best mother but she was there. she was there when i got my period. she was there when i got my first bf. she was there when kids were bullying me. and she was there when i was graduating elementary. my mom has always been there. yes she may get lost for days, but shes always there. even if its a simple phone call. she may be struggling but my mom has been through a lot. she tried to give me and my siblings everything she didnt have, she may have failed many time but she tried. no matter what anyone thinks, i know deep down she will always be a good mother to me and my siblings.

Keep that attitude and don't give up on your mom. You're very brave for coming on here and speaking your mind. Don't give up hope, pray and support your mom if she needs it. Just know that you can't change her. She has to want to change. Stay safe and humble. I wish the best for you and your family.

I think she is a good person, so I disagree with her comments here. I think she is very lost & I think it come from things she had to experience. I am happy that she is trying to be a good mom - I don’t think she is yet - I am a mom & I live with my kids, don’t do drugs, don’t gamble & so I am there for them for everything, not just moments.
However, I pray, pray, pray that you don’t follow her & do drugs even once - once is all it takes & you will start drowning too. Take a higher road. Good luck ❤

@@wintering6 What gives you the moral high ground to tell a child on UA-cam who is expressing their emotions towards their mother in a very public, honest way that her Mom is actually not a good Mom? Because you live with yours and don't do drugs, gamble, etc. you're a great mom? A great mom would express the presence of what she's doing, not the negation of things she's not doing that another Mom is doing for the sole purpose of judging them. A great Mom wouldn't degrade another Mom to their children who love them, even through tough trials. Maybe try some helpful words of encouragement vs. subliminal messages that she'll end up just like her Mom? What are you afraid of? I hope you can gain some compassion while you're here.
I pray, pray, pray that your children don't learn the same mentality of choosing hate over love. Love and Peace to you

@S L GoGo that's not fair. When people can't find the strength to grow up, clean up and be productive citizens, then they may need a higher power to inspire them to change and pull them through it. There's nothing wrong with that. Some may see it as a defect or a crutch, and if it's not for you that's fine. God still loves you.

@@normaroman393 I'm sure her kids who know their mom chooses "men who look homeless with dirty shoes" and the thrill of "being in the streets" and "living in a tent" over the ability to be with them and actually be a mother feel the same as these judgemental people. How dare she call herself a good mom when there are mothers out there who give their everything for their kids?? She is delusional regarding that and just says it to make her feel better.

When you look at brain scans of how the connections to the prefrontal cortex (decision making/moral reasoning center) are destroyed and the loss of gray matter in that area, in active addiction, it’s a different picture. Without the full capacity to think rationally and morally, there is no choice. Many people are addicted after their first day or weekend on drugs. The brain is hijacked after that. I have seen people who have done the most damage in addiction help so many people in recovery. That’s their real character, without the addiction in control. If people say they were addicted and never did this or that, I suspect their addiction was not as severe. I used to think the same, but I had been using 2 years and those “bad people,” sometimes 30. It got worse before it got better, for me. I don’t think I ever would have felt ready to “choose” to quit, like a lot of people are waiting to be. I had to be facing prison. Today, I can’t imagine letting anything get that out of control and I can prevent that, as long as it’s not chemicals that change the brain. Then all bets are off…I would not be at the controls.

@sciencenotstigma9534 As a former multi-year hardcore polyaddict there is 100% a choice. To suggest otherwise creates even more stigma towards addicts as it's implied we have zero control over our actions and WILL stab others in the back to get a fix.
The only exception to this would be when there is other mental disorders or a personality disorder at play which already predisposes you to screwing people over for your own benefit as a sober lucid individual.
While people like you make excuses for people like us you enable many to continue to exist in this cycle where they can always shrug off accountability.

I used to live in a women’s residential & a lottt of the mother’s there got their kids taken from them at some point. I knew most of those women inside and out & I can tell you, 90% of them were amazing mothers. It’s a real life thing that happens to lots of women. It doesn’t automatically make you a bad mom, as long as you learn from it & make a big effort to make things right. It’s very situational. To say that you have to be there in person in order to be considered a good mom, is very broad and ignorant.

I stopped doing meth cold turkey last summer when i relapsed on it after having 6 years clean. I still attend an outpatient program [6+ years] I have a 2 and 4 year old who needed/need me. I did it for myself and my kids whether they realize it or not. I will have a year clean in September. So, if any parents are reading this & are struggling, it is possible to get clean.
The depression meth causes long term....is absolutely horrible & i don't think I could've handled losing my kids.

She is still saying she's functioning and it makes her a good mom and productive person. Everyone has a different level of what constitutes rock bottom. Some it takes very little. Others, like her, who think they're functioning and the exception to the rule it takes alot! This isn't a judgement, not even really a matter of opinion. It's a fact. You stop doing something when it becomes no longer desirable. It’s just because your child says mommy. It doesn’t make you a good mommy!
Play good mother is there every step of the way! Through the good times, and through the bad times.
The thought of losing my children, because I was not being responsible, would kill me!
Because they depend on me and I have to guide and direct them so that they know where to go in life.
I have to teach them right from wrong. I must teach and how to behave and how to be a child of God, to be honest, and hard-working. And I’m the one who has to show them not only tell them, but show them how to be this way most of all by me taking care of my responsibilities so that they can be responsible for their own lives their own lives be close and show, affection, love and appreciation, patience, and tolerance to them.
I must have a roof over their head. food in their tummies and pay the bill so that there are lights and water for them this is what a good mother is!
I’ve seen people who abuse meth and their are rotted out and their faces looking a skeleton. How does she still look like a beautiful woman! I’m really baffled on that!

Any woman who says she doesn’t associate with other women cause they’re jealous of them throws up red flags immediately. It’s usually something else boo. I’m in about 14 minutes so far, and she just said that she’s a bad girl but not like that, and that she’s embarrassed by her ankle monitor but she’s not embarrassed by the fact that she has lost custody of her entire family and Commits crime to earn money, it’s like she has never known anyone who lives a normal middle-class life, or doesn’t even know that that exists and can be for her as well. Somehow, when it’s all said and done, I don’t think her kids are going to think she’s a great mom.

Y'all are thinking that she's bragging and proud of what she's doing... What ur mistaking for self confidence is actually someone being honest and having the ability (out of necessity) to keep herself afloat while still being honest that she has a problem and is currently making bad choices but it's hard to stop. Especially when that's been her environment and lifestyle all of her life even as a child. She is trying to explain how she rationalizes and when. While also telling the story of how her life is going at this time without making it all about just beating herself up and turning it all into a sob story like woe is me. She is just telling her truth especially while still in the life. That's how she's surviving and that's what these expose's are about. If y'all could listen and learn and understand where this attitude comes from, u could actually benefit from these interviews maybe..as opposed to thinking she's proud of everything
She's just trying to tell the story. And she's still living the story. If she was telling it gr "hindsight" the attitude and tone would be way different.
