Voiceplay on a NORMAL day are amazing... When they get into their Halloween mood, it's 1000 times better. The members have history working for/with Disney and the theatrics are definitely showcased. "This is Halloween" is another great one - and even MORE characterful.
Yep. That's VoicePlay in all their line-ups (this is an older song by them), they are the Theatre Kids of the Acappella Trinity of UA-cam! They don't need it though, they can sing so grandly that they're entertaining as heck just sitting on stools!💙
For the rest of the (main) songs from TNBC, VP has done What's This?, This is Halloween, and Kidnap the Sandy Claws. Geoff did Jack's Lament on his solo channel. Every one of them is just *chef's kiss*
Love this one! It was my introduction to VoicePlay and Geoff... needless to say, I became an instant fan! I've never seen the movie either, but can still enjoy and appreciate the songs.
This was the song that introduced me to VoicePlay. I love the Nightmare Before Christmas and UA-cam ended up recommending this after I'd watched a video of a NBC light show someone did on their house for Halloween. I have never looked back! They hooked me with this amazing video. The crazy vocal talent, the theatricality, the amazing arrangement and just the fun! This is one rabbit hole I'm never climbing out of! ❤
This was the first Voiceplay vid I saw years ago now. I bruised my chin from my mouth hitting the floor so hard! :) As a suggestion; if Voiceplay does a cover from a movie you haven't seen, I'd recommend watching a youtube of the original song - either as a 'double reaction' or before you react to Voiceplay so you don't miss any wizardry the group may perform with their rendition. Now you probably know Geoff has a solo channel, so, for instance, you may want to watch his cover of Jack's Lament also from _Nightmare..._ and watch a vid from the movie so you can see just how Geoff blew this away in his rendition.
Geoff would love your gramophone. It's his logo on his channel. He has one in many of his videos. Sandy Claws is played by Geoff's brother-in-law but voiced by Eli. This is why I gave them the #TheatreKidsOfACapella.
I just watched all your VoicePlay content. You might think about making a VoicePlay playlist. VoicePlay fans are very loyal and will watch lots and lots of ppl reacting to VoicePlay. I have loved you reactions😊 I recommend you check out Geoff’s solo work on his own channel. It’ll blow your mind!
It was my 3rd music find on UA-cam 3yrs ago. It started with Geoff doing The Monster Mash (a favorite song from my childhood), Hoist the Colours and this one. most of VoicePlay have done vocal work at the theme parks in Orlando over the years, between Disney and Universal and others they gained major insights into what the audience loves. As a result, they ARE the theatre kids. They also know a lot of the vocalists that they can call on to flesh out their newest videos. In this one, Eli (who is also a character voice actor) did the voice for Santa. Santa is Geoff's brother-in-law. I fell so far and fast down the rabbit hole that my day isn't right if people like you aren't watching and reacting to VoicePlay and/or Geoff's solos. If you want to see them do a couple of LIVE videos - check out Road Trip (on the Sing-Off tour), and the full Chicken Song (a old song written up within a book of Campfire Songs used by Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts) while camping or just sitting around a fire in the backyard.)
This video served as a 'gateway drug' to VoicePlay and Geoff's work for a lot of us! A really quick summary of The Nightmare Before Christmas is that the residents of Halloween Town discover Christmas and decide to get involved, and the results are predictably disastrous😆 I agree with other commenters that this cover is superior to the original, but not everyone thinks so; the movie has its own charms, and is well worth checking out if the spirit ever moves you (no pun intended.) Great reaction! - ETA: You may find the new cover VP will be dropping soon to be of interest, keep an eye out for it!
They are the kings of Halloween - and Halloween is fast approaching! Layne arranged most of them, and they're all excellent and silly. There are 3 more from Nightmare before Christmas. You are about to have so much fun! (They have them all grouped as a list by holiday on their channel.)
Santa was played by Geoff's BIL, and his voice was done by Eli. This was the first VoicePlay video for many of us, making us immediate fans. That lowest note is an E1, if I remember right.
There were parts in this where you forgot he is the base singer of the group where he was singing very high range and with great voice too then there were a few parts he reminded you again
I have never seen Nightmare Before Christmas, but it doesn't matter. Voiceplay can make me understand the story and I absolutely love them!! And you will love the next one in the pipeline!!
Subscribed for your reactions to VoicePlay. Hoping that you will also do some reactions to Geoff Castellucci's UA-cam solo channel. His incredible vocal range is showcased there. Not a cappella, his arrangements on his solo channel are stellar. All of the vocals and instrumentation there are all Geoff.
I’m still holding out hope of a Voiceplay broadway show haha I don’t care what it’s about as long as we get great songs and fun acting I’d fly from 🇦🇺 to see it haha Or being based in Orlando just go whole hog and open up a Voiceplay world like universal haha
They do love their theatrics! I think this is one of the first ones that I watched and listened to and I was blown away. As I recall, this is the first time that they had used subharmonics, that last really low note, on a recorded video. If you love the theatrics, they’ve done a lot in full costume. The one coming up soon is amazing. If you’re a gamer, one of my favorites is their Dragonborn/ Skyrim cover they are in full cosplay. I don’t play video games, but I have discovered a lot of the music is truly spectacular.
I hadn't watched the movie before seeing this. I watched it later and found it a disappointment. Voiceplays arrangements are far superior. They are known as the theatre kids of a capella.. They are in a league of their own when it comes to their more theatrical videos. No-one, but no-one, can outdo them. Geoff often has fun on his own videos on his own channel of low bass covers. Some of them have worked for Disney and Warner Bros when younger, so they are accomplished actors.
If I may make a suggestion, please, check out Geoff’s channel and, in particular, his covers of Shenandoah and Sound of Silence. I don’t believe you’ll be disappointed. Thank you. Michael in Tennessee.

VoicePlay is known as the Theater Kids of a cappella. They got their start on stage at the Florida theme parks, like Disney.

They've also done a lot of Disney stuff. If your daughter has a favorite Disney movie, see if it's in the Voiceplay catalog and watch it together.
Their next video coming up is a Disney one - something people have been requesting for a while….

There is also a live stage version of Oogie but I believe it was taken with a cell phone. Santa‘s picture and footage is on the screen behind them.
@@janetdw I had forgotten that although I've seen it. Phones aren't my favorite thing to watch. Glad you mentioned it!

The second VP song I ever saw and I still remember Geoff's final bone-rattling note. Never tire of their theatrics. Thanks for the reaction.
Some other good theatrical videos with them are The dragonborn comes, Hoist the colours and Valhalla calling

Geoffs Monster Mash, 16 Tonnes and Ghost Riders in the Sky are great, also VoicePlays Vahalla Calling, Chaos and Hall of the Mountain King
Damn the main guy's voice is so cool !! I'm going to add that to my list of listening songs 😊
He has a solo YT channel with some amazing songs. You should check them out!
His name is Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci.
Santa was played by Geoff's BIL, and his voice was done by Eli. This was the first VoicePlay video for many of us, making us immediate fans. That lowest note is an E1, if I remember right.

They have some amazing videos, you’re in for a treat 😄
You can't go wrong with Voiceplay (or Geoff's solo stuff), but for straight up fun videos, I'd suggest Drunken Sailor and The Lions Sleeps Tonight

Yes! It's one of the (many) addictive VoicePlay creations that set them apart from all of the rest.

You’ll probably fall in love with “What Do We Do With A Drunkin Sailor”
You really should watch the movie. It's one of my favorites 😂😂
This is Halloween shows the progression of them Turing into the movie characters
Hallowe'en must be on it's way..
😱😂 That was so good. Well done 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
❤️❤️
