I've watched this many times both by myself and watching reactions. I too laugh and day "he's not done yet". then laugh more when he is done. Same thing in his/their other videos. Especially "my mother told me" and "the Dragonborn Come" . "Hoist The colours" I know that high note is coming so the reactions to that is funny as well. Have fun in the rabbit hole.
One of my favourite pastimes is watching people hear Geoff sing for the first time. Unfailingly, they say "Wow, that's low" and I laugh to myself and say "Oh no, this is quite normal" and then they hear him sing from what seems to be the core of the earth and it NEVER disappoints. Also, "a mixture of Fergie and Jesus" was not a description of him I have ever heard or even considered before and it absolutely sent me. Thank you for that! You should definitely watch some of Geoff's solo work on his own channel, I think you'd get a kick out of Misty Mountains in particular. Voiceplay are fantastic and always put on an incredible show, so you really can't go wrong with any of their videos. I suspect you might like their cover of "The Dragonborn Comes" from Skyrim and definitely "Hoist the Colours" as well, but really everything they do is amazing. Beware the rabbit holes and have fun!
Geoff describes himself as a baritone with a bass range. He isn’t really the main singer but he is for this song, and they do put emphasis on his parts a lot. They have so many amazing pieces, Warriors, Dream On, Little Mermaid Medley, We don’t talk about Bruno, and so many more. Every song is impressive. Geoff also does solo work on his only channel. Which is just his name, where he sings all parts “bass, baritone, tenor 2, tenor 1.)
I heard him describe himself as a tenor with a bass range 😂 That's even more impressive. Apparently, he used to sing tenor in his earlier days, and then discovered he could hit them low notes with ease as well. 😬
Geoff (Jeff) was lead here. The lead switches depending on the song. Often the parts are equally divided. Santa is just a guest - and I think Geoff's BIL. Geoff has a near 5 octave range and yes, his belts cover 3-4 octaves. VP has increased its quality, arrangements and performance, exponentially. Listen to their Warriors where the short bald guy (Eli - pronounced ELLY), he once fronted a rock band, had the lead there. He often does when Geoff does the arrangements. Beatboxer Layne used to be the VP bari-tenor, but their beatboxer went on to acting (he returned for their HALO theme tribute) and Layne took that over. He and Geoff have been friends since childhood and are the last 2 remaining original members of VP. Being old friends means Layne, the other main arranger with Geoff, often trys to crack Geoff up while filming. Earl (the tall guy with the beard) - the first tenor, left last year as did baritone J None. Earl's reason's were personal, but J None joined the US Navy and even came back to take the lead in their Halloween song, Friends on the Otherside. Cesar de la Rosa replaced J None, but they have left the high tenor slot open. I was offered to several singers, but all had conflicts and prior commitments. That actually seems to have turned out well as they take on guests based on the song needs rather than tailor arrangements to member voices. Of the big 3 a capella groups, Home Free, Pentatonix, and VoicePlay, they are considered 'the theater nerds' for their acting, sets, make-up, and general feel of doing a mini play. Friends on the Otherside is a great example. They blew away reactors with their Hoist the Colours (amazing) and just seem to keep getting better. They even tackle Aerosmith (Dream On) and manage a very memorable performance. All of the big 3 are amazing. I happen to like the panache of VP best.
Yeah, I think you're correct that Santa was his BIL, though I believe it's actually Eli's voice (you know he's the master of disguise when it comes to that stuff).
Santa is definitely played by Geoff's brother-in-law Pasquale. He's a professional magician so he's comfortable performing. I thought that was his voice in the recording. When VP has performed this live, they play parts of the video on the screen behind them so they can react to Santa's lines.
That's really interesting. I've become pretty obsessed with VP since discovering them a couple years ago, but I never knew Scott used to be the beatboxer and Layne just sang. I knew Scott to be a very good beatboxer, but I guess I had assumed that Layne had always filled that role.
I love watching people have an existential crisis hearing Voice Play for the first time. Geoff is awesome and the whole group are super talented and work so hard on their arrangements!
I love watching people react to VoicePlay for the first time. They are so crazy talented and I love watching the jaws drop and the heads explode when Geoff hits those low notes and then again when he reaches the clouds with his highs. I'm looking forward to seeing more VoicePlay reaction videos from you and I would love to see you react to Geoff's solo work too.
The last note spans about a mixed B4 to a subharmonic E1 that's 3 octave right there in 5 seconds, and yes he can sing high and sing that low easily and he also has a channel outside of voiceplay where it focuses more on bass covers , and yes voiceplay was on the sing off same season as home free these guys are to me (my opinion) the best acapella group I've heard everything from the theatrics, arrangements and vocals are top notch!
Do check out Geoff's Halloween offering from this year - Jack's Lament. Marvelous. VoicePlay did Hellfire (Hunchback of Notre Dame). The Christmas stuff is a bit short this year. VoicePlay was up in New Jersey with Chicago in November. Eli (bald tenor) and his wife had a new baby (can be seen in the audience at 2 weeks). Geoff and family had covid in Sept. VoicePlay did Jingle Bell Rock (Mean Girls), and Geoff did Blue Christmas (Elvis).
Glad you liked the suggestion lol. Home Free and Voiceplay both have a bunch of good stuff. Also, both Bassist have been known to blow speakers with their voices at shows.
Sorry for the second comment, but I just about died laughing at "combination of Fergie and Jesus" and had to compliment you on that; that's one of the best descriptions I've heard in a good minute. And yeah, he really can go that high and that low that smoothly! Geoff is a legend. If you want to check out more VoicePlay, I would recommend either Hoist the Colours or My Mother Told Me. Geoff has his own channel too; he recently dropped a cover of Ain't No Sunshine that will blow your mind.
Welcome to the rabbit hole! One of the greatest talents VP has is fitting their arrangements to their voices, not forcing it. Earl (laser tenor) takes the lead in Queen In 5 Minutes, J.None came back from the Navy to do Friends On the Other Side. But usually they trade off during each song, letting each member shine.
Geoff is not considered the lead singer, they all sing their bits and pieces, he just had the main song on this one. He is the bass of this group but has a channel of his own where he uses instruments to back himself up but sings with himself and does both the low bass parts and the very high tenor parts, all him. You should check his channel out, he's insane. But the other members are Layne (beatboxer as well as he sings sometimes), Eli (tenor 2), and Caesar (most recent member of voiceplay, as some have come and gone, is the tenor 1). In this one, the tenor 1 was Earl (gray shirt), J. was the baritone (jacket and bone shirt), and Eli was the tenor 2 (red shirt). The guy who played Santa Clause is not part of Voiceplay.
I'm guessing Geoff's most recent release, his arrangement of Bill Withers "Ain't No Sunshine" will satisfy some of your curiosity about his voice. You get some gorgeous, buttery high baritone, some high tenor in his "backup group" (him) and a few low drops that'll rattle your insides. But it's going to take listening to a few songs before you begin to get a grip on what Geoff can do vocally. In other VoicePlay songs, listen for him singing the backup part of a 5 string bass guitar. He has the full range, and he sounds like a guitar, not a human.
Voiceplay was on The Sing Off show the same year as Home Free and the Filharmonic (Pitch Perfect and The Tonight Show). Voiceplay and Home Free have remained friends and have collaborated since then and even did a video together.
Don't you know that the secret to bass-ness is long hair 😂 It's running joke. Tim from HF and Geoff from VP are friends lol. Though there's no real 'lead' in this group, they all switch up depending on song choice. And Voiceplay competed on the Sing Off the same season that HF won, though they've had line up changes since. But yeah, almost every guy in this group has a good four octave range and the bass has five. They're awesome.
After the first reaction to his low and highs the grin on my face just kept growing waiting to see how you reacted to the end. Yes Geoff is a literal Dragon but simultaneously is an angel. His range is just insane.
Always love seeing people first react to Voiceplay and Geoff's vocal range. He hits even higher and lower notes than this in some of their other stuff as well as his solo stuff. You've just scratched the surface 😂
Great reaction, thanks! The VoicePlay and Geoff rabbit hole runs beautifully and harmoniously deep, they are second to none when covering Disney or show tunes but are just as awesome with straight up A Cappella. Their versatility and talent enables them to cross many different genres of music, so you can't go wrong with anything you might choose.
I love watching people react to Geoff's work. By the way, you missed the bass riff in the subharmonics underneath the lyric "a rolly-polly Santa Claus to add a little spice." I would highly recommend going back and listening for it (5:11)
Personally, I think these guys are so very talented and I love everything Voiceplay does, but as a first video, Oogie Boogie is not an accurate depiction of their beautiful voices, since they are in character. These guys are all so very talented. Check out their latest release Dream on. As far as comparing them to Home free or any other accapella group, well I hate that cuz I love watching their individual talents in performance, arrangement, and stuff like that, like how they used notes to create the harmonies ect... Voiceplay is awesome and I am in awe of them all past and present members. They are great!
The Charismatic Voice(Elizabeth) did an interview with Geoff. His normal voice is incredibly rich and deep also. Id say check that out on your free time. Another awesome reaction in the books.
I like that you appreciated the extreme character voices! Re confusing Geoff with Tim (Home Free); Geoff grew his hair long about 4 yrs ago, meanwhile Tim finally cut his short last year. So now Geoff is the "long hair". Re SingOff competition; VoicePlay competed against Home Free that final season, which Home Free won. (Pentatonix won the year before.) The judges loved Tim's bass performances, but Geoff was underutilized (IMO) until more recently. Now Geoff's breakout parts get plenty of attention, but he's not generally the lead singer. His solo videos (his own channel) make up for that!
This song is very often the gateway drug to Voiceplay. You’ll be hooked in no time if you aren’t already. If you like gaming, you should definitely check out Halo Theme and The Dragonborn Comes (from Skyrim). As others have said, VP doesn’t have an official lead. In most of their songs, everybody in the group gets to shine a little-and you’ll see that they’re all terrific. Anyway, great reaction! Please do check out more Voiceplay, and also Geoff’s solo channel. He just released a cover of Bill Withers’ Ain’t No Sunshine-top of my list until he tops that-which he will.
Welcome to the unnatural phenomenon that is Geoff Castellucci. I often call Geoff the gateway drug to VoicePlay, because his talents are so obvious you can't help but be amazed, and he tends to be what draws people into the group as a whole. However, once you start listening to VoicePlay you'll quickly realize that they are *all* similarly gifted- Eli, the bald tenor, can actually cover Geoff's basslines if he is soloing during a live performance. Layne, the beatboxer, has a range that is even broader than Geoff's 5 octaves. Oh, and did anyone mention that the videos are all completely put together by the VoicePlay members themselves? They do all the sourcing of sites, costumes, props etc, they do basic camera work (although they sometimes hire steadycam operators), video editing, lighting (that's Eli's specialty) and effects. Layne and Geoff also split the work of arranging 99% of VoicePlay's vocal arrangements. These guys are the full creative package. Geoff utilizes a technique called subharmonics to achieve his super-deep notes, although his chest range extends to at least an F1, I think, possibly a little lower. With subharmonics he has been able to go as low as a B0- that's two white keys from the low end of the piano keyboard.
"Geoff is the gateway drug to VoicePlay"! I love that! Certainly explains the 2yr obsession/addiction I've had with both since seeing Geoffs 16 Tons! 😁
Such a fun reaction! I love seeing people react to Voice Play for the 1st time.. What to check out next is wide open... anything they do is amazing... they range from Dream On by Aerosmith to We Don't Talk about Bruno from Disney and just about everything in between! Enjoy the awesomeness! And Geoff's solo channel is equally amazing!
In his latest cover of ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone by Bill Withers he doesn’t go as low consistently but he sings in a really breathy A1 that is absolutely astounding.
Geoff has five octaves range. He makes tutorial videos on his own youtube channel on how to sing very low. You should see the "Blackbird" cover by Beatles. Geoff goes incredible high and deep low. I really liked your reaction. Sorry for my english, it's not my native language.
Voiceplay is known as the "Theater Kids". They always put on a first class show. They always have fun doing their videos. Check out the most recent videos Geoff and Voiceplay did.
Love VoicePlay, Home Free and Pentatonix. The three original basses Geoff, Tim and Avi are adept at using their five octave ranges. They are all wonderful and very skilled.
Love your reaction Yes Geoff is a bass god with a range of 5 octaves. They all take turns for leads but to be fair they normally do songs and each take a part... I love Geoff's low notes in Hoist the colours. Which also show the talents of the others. They're all amazing. Sub so that i can see your amazement at the others.
@@RED_WIND. is true. 😊 His voice is natural baritone and bass... But he's worked very hard on his low range to include low growls and sub harmonics.. As he's got lower and lower. He's worked equally as hard to retain his baritone, so that he can keep both ranges.. He's produced videos on how to sing low..... He's good friends with Tim from home free... Tim has helped Geoff with learning Lower notes which he's expanded on with practice. Xx
He was just the lead for this song, they all share the lead. Voiceplay is theater kids of acappella so you'll see more costumes from them. Voiceplay was on the sing off. Santa is the bass's (geoff's) brother. If you have anymore question I can probably answer them. Been listening to them for a while
I’m a hardcore Voiceplay fan. I love me some Geoff, but as you fall down the rabbit hole, I can’t wait to watch you see how dynamic they ALL are. So excited!!!!!! Girthy Gang +1 Subscribed! ✅
Send1t- So in the A Cappella world, there is The Trifecta of A Cappella: Pentatonix-Won The Sing Off Season 3-technically PERFECT- The Cheerleaders and Jocks! Absolutely adored by everyone and rightly so-they paved the way Home Free-Won The Sing Off Season 4-The only A Cappella group claiming their “Country” but slay any genre. These are the guys you want to hang out with in The Back 80 having a Kegger and a bonfire!!! Voice play-Competed on The Sing Off Season 4…obviously didn’t win since Home Free did. Have collaborated with Home Free several times. They are The Theater Kids. Can hold there own against the 2 above groups, but VERY under-rated!!!! The main guys have been together longer than Home Free has been and longer than most of Pentatonix has been alive. Never ask us to compare or pick a favorite! They are like our children and we CAN’T and WON’T!!!
Loved, loved, loved your reaction! I have to say I was laughing the whole time, knowing that you hadn't seen it all. The lineup has changed in the last two years. Geoff, the bass, Layne, the beatboxer, and Earl, the bearded tenor were founding members of the group in 1997. The name of the group was changed about 10 years ago. Earl left two years ago for personal reasons, the black baritone left last year to join the US Navy and sing with them. Cesar de la Rosa joined them last year. One slot still open, they use featured singers to fill in. They've done that even before the changes in personnel. This piece, because of it's nature, showcases Geoff, but that is not standard. The most recent is Dream On, (Aerosmith), before that We Don't Talk About Bruno. You can get a feel for their ability to sing any genre with those and Hoist the Colours or The Dragonborn Comes (Skyrim). And they have another one coming in a few days. Welcome to the rabbit hole! Oh yeah, they go to Geoff Castellucci's solo channel he started during the pandemic - start with House of the Rising Sun!
The bass singer is Geoff Castelluci. He also does narrations & solo songs on his channel. He has a 4 or 5 octave range. Check out their cover of bridge over troubled waters & Dragonborn comes. Check out Geoff’s cover of ain’t no sunshine when she is gone & misty mountain cold. You can’t go wrong with any of their videos. They all can play instruments too.
Some of Voice Plays best cover songs are Mr. Blue Sky, Tennessee Whiskey, Carry On Wayward Son & Dream On. They always stay true to the original song but put their own twist on it at the same time.
So I pick a random spot in the video to show while I am speaking that shows like the gist of the video so people that just click on it can kind of see. Trust me, if I get the recommendation and I have seen it, I won't do a react to it
acapella groups dont really have lead singers. usually the baritone, tenor1 or tenor2 do most of the lead parts, but the bass also often gets lead parts. it's a mix of what fits the song best and trying to get everyone a moment to shine. in this particular song Geoff has the lead through most of the song (which is quite rare), but the song required it.
Absolutely one of my favorite VoicePlay videos. They have covered 4 songs from The Nightmare Before Christmas and all are fantastic. Geoff Castellucci (Jeff) is the Bass and has a 5 octave range. You picked an epic song for your 1st VP experience. They all share the lead but most of the arrangements are made by Geoff and Layne (beatboxer). Most people focus on Geoff, I'm guilty of it too, but each member is exceptionally talented. You need to check out Carry On My Wayward Son, Halo theme song, My Mother Told Me, Queen in 5 Minutes... Honestly it's all fantastic 😊
Me at 3:11 - "Oh babe, just wait." I am SO glad you checked them out! Your face throughout this was priceless! Isn't Geoff amazing?! Thanks for taking a listen. ♥
Always saddens me that no one has heard of VoicePlay as they deserve so much more love and attention. They are amazing! Also pretty sure they have been around since the late 90s but were called something else in he beginning
Voiceplay was on The Sing-Off the same season that Home Free won it. VP finished 5th or 6th. Back then, they had a female lead singer in addition to the five guys. The personnel in this vid is their standard 2017 thru 2020 lineup: Earl Elkins Jr., high tenor. [Earl left the group in 2020 and his slot is still open. They're currently making vids with various guest artists.] Eli Jacobson, second tenor. JNone [Jesse Nunn III], baritone. [JNone left the group in 2021 and was replaced by Cesar De La Rosa.] Layne Stein, vocal percussion and backup baritone/bass. Geoff Castellucci, low bass. At the end of this song, Geoff drops 3 and 7/12 octaves in 10 seconds, down to an E1. He has some vids where he hits a B0 (the second lowest white key on a standard piano). On his personal YT channel, there are vids where he talks about techniques to sing low. He uses a mixture of growl (which he learned from his friend Tim Foust of Home Free), vocal fry, and subharmonics. He also has several cover songs on that channel where he multitracks and sings all the parts. He just started doing that in response to COVID.
Santa isn’t part of the group, but I do believe he’s Geoff’s brother. Geoff was Oogie Boogie in this. Also he isn’t the ‘main’ singer, Chris Daughtry (😂) has an amazing voice. They’ve got their runs and riffs on point. Actually, they’re all insanely talented. It’s gross. Lol
I was laughing so hard i had to pause multiple times watching you keep getting stunned by Mr. Oogie Boogie there and yet knowing what was about to drop on your head.
Oh Send1t.....I am LOVING your reactions to Home Free and now VoicePlay. Glad me and some others recommended them. Geoff and Tim (from Home Free and has a range like Geoff's or better) are 2 of the best in the business. You are in, according to the words of the famous song from Aladdin, 'A Whole New World'. Keep enjoying it! I can assure you that we are loving your reactions.
Avi Kaplan (formerly of Pentatonix), Tim Foust (of Home Free) & Geoff Castellucci (of VoicePlay) all have incredible range (roughly 5 octaves) the 3 are WELL KNOWN for hitting notes so low, they've fried Microphones, Stage Speakers & Subwoofers. It's a good thing they've all sworn to use their superpowers for "good". If they all hit their super Sub-harmonic at the same time, they'd likely be able to sink a Continent
Such a fun reaction. Please go down the VoicePlay rabbit hole. You can also check out Geoff's channel where he does more amazing things. You will not be disappointed!
This is a great starter video for Voiceplay. Geoff Castellucci (pronounced Jeff) is amazing in it. You will notice cast changes within the group as you get into the newer stuff. Santa isn’t in Voiceplay, but is a friend or neighbor or brother in law or something.
Voiceplay was on the same season of The Sing Off as Home Free, but Home Free was unique with their country twist on A Cappella along with more experienced members and Home Free won that season. Voiceplay has had some lineup changes, but has gained a lot of experience as well. Their more recent stuff really shines, but their older stuff is great too. They're currently down one fulltime member but have some amazing guests filling out the sound in various videos. There was a tour after the season of The Sing Off and all these groups know each other - Avi Kaplan (Pentatonix) was a guest singer in Home Free's cover of "Ring of Fire" - Geoff Castellucci (Voiceplay) did the bulk of the arranging for Home Free's collaboration with The Oak Ridge Boys covering "Elvira" - Tim Foust (Home Free) does a brief (but hilarious) appearance in Voiceplay's fundraising song "Just Sing" - Rob Lundquist (Home Free) is featured in Voiceplay's "ACA Top 10 | Movie Themes" mashup. Have fun.
Just as in most acapella groups, the best ones, at least, there really IS no "lead singer", per se. Who leads a song depends on who's voice best fits the lead part, and there are times the lead switches between several people in any given arrangement. The bass singer of this group, Geoff Casetllucci, has a 5 octave range to his voice, with a few scattered notes thrown in from a 6th, of course. That's the reason he's able to cover the heights as well as the depths. The technique he uses at the end of this cover is called Subharmonics. It involves a lot of relaxation, a ton of air movement, and a lot of production to get it to sound that forceful. It's a technique that Geoff learned from Tim Foust, actually, of Home Free. You asked weather or not Voice Play was on the Sing Off as well, and the answer is yes, twice. Once on the season Home Free won. Which is how they met and befriended Tim Foust. As you'll no doubt discover if you continue reacting to Voice Play their membership has changed over time. They've lost some members due to prior commitments, family concerns, or other opportunities coming up. However, they've always been able to find super talented people to step in when a member has gone elsewhere. Voice Play also, as you'll see, have a number of very talented friends who come in and help them with songs from time to time, the most notable of which, I would say, is Mrs. Rachel Potter. One last thing before I end comment on this very fine, fun reaction: In order to round out the trifecta of the acapella world you should also check out Pentatonix if you haven't already. Pick any song, either cover, medley, or original of theirs and you can't go wrong.
Yes, Voiceplay were on the same Sing Off series as Home Free but hadn't really settled on their sound yet. They had a female lead. Like Pentatonix and Home Free you have at least 10 years back catalogue to explore. Go back to Queen in 5 mins, Carry On Wayward Son, Moana Medley, and recently, My Mother Told Me. By the way, if you know Home Free, you know bass Tim Faust, try his new album of early 60's stuff and his higher range. Or My Maria with Austin Brown
If you haven't yet, you need to do Voiceplay's version of Valhalla Calling. It is the most badass kind of magic, and shows the other members pushing their talents more.
Yes they were on the same season of The Sing Off as Home Free. They have been good friends ever since. Welcome to the awesome Geoff Castelucci. You need to check out his solo channel. They have great covers of Carry On My Wayward Son, Dream On, Hoist The Colors, Queen in 5 Minutes then a series of Trapped and Panic in the Disco part 1&2.
They have miniature glow sticks in their mouths. You can buy them in novelty stores around Halloween, usually. They were popular at raves, back in the day.
I love people reacting to Geoff for the first time. The Fergie and Jesus comment SENT ME. I laughed so hard I snorted and couldn't breathe. Me patiently waiting for him to hear the ending 😈😈😈
My favorite thing is watching reactors on this song go, "How does he sing that low?"...on the first low note lol. Hang on, you're going for a ride.
Mine too 😂
I've watched this many times both by myself and watching reactions.
@@jackyfriedman1963 it amazes me how many people don't realise that it's Geoff going high... 🤔
Hello Sandita how's it going with you over there?
LOL-right? And then they go hear Halo Theme, and it really breaks them.
@Howling Wolf Studios yes
@Howling Wolf Studios I’m very aware, I’ve listened to Geoff for hours everyday since I found Voiceplay
Geoff Castellucci is a great singer. Geoff does and amazing job, both with VoicePlay and on his own.
I heard him describe himself as a tenor with a bass range 😂 That's even more impressive. Apparently, he used to sing tenor in his earlier days, and then discovered he could hit them low notes with ease as well. 😬
I dont get how someone who has the thickest F#1 chest ive ever heard can call himself a baritone but im not disagreeing ig
Geoff (Jeff) was lead here. The lead switches depending on the song. Often the parts are equally divided. Santa is just a guest - and I think Geoff's BIL. Geoff has a near 5 octave range and yes, his belts cover 3-4 octaves.

@@Z-LightfulMemories Yes, Santa is Pasquale Palazzolo, brother of Geoff's wife Kathy, and he lipsyncs Eli's singing.
Santa is definitely played by Geoff's brother-in-law Pasquale. He's a professional magician so he's comfortable performing. I thought that was his voice in the recording. When VP has performed this live, they play parts of the video on the screen behind them so they can react to Santa's lines.

I keep thinking that there should be a warning for first timers that says warning could be hazardous to your sanity.

I FLIPPIN LOVE VOICEPLAY/GEOFF.
Welcome to VoicePlay. Geoff has a great range and the rest of the group are equally as talented.
Hello Amanda how's it going with you over there?
Yes, Voiceplay was on Sing-off
I'm guessing Geoff's most recent release, his arrangement of Bill Withers "Ain't No Sunshine" will satisfy some of your curiosity about his voice. He has the full range, and he sounds like a guitar, not a human.
totally agree, Geoff has his own page on YT, and you'll see and hear how good he is, Monster Mash
Hoist the colours by voice play is outstanding
Hello Sharon how's it going with you over there?
@@stefandieter4044 good how are you doing?

Voiceplay was on The Sing Off show the same year as Home Free and the Filharmonic (Pitch Perfect and The Tonight Show). Voiceplay and Home Free have remained friends and have collaborated since then and even did a video together.
Zombies vs Hillbillies!!
Dude, you really need to check out more VoicePlay and even Geoff Castelucci on his own. His range is phenomenal and man, what a voice!
Always love seeing people first react to Voiceplay and Geoff's vocal range. He hits even higher and lower notes than this in some of their other stuff as well as his solo stuff. You've just scratched the surface 😂
AND VOICE PLAY? WHAT lol dude r u trying to make my whole week 😂 ur awsome
I loooooove watching people's first time with VoicePlay. It will take you months to get thru their catalog and they ALL are fantastic.
"how'd he get that deep and make it seem effortless"
me: grabs popcorn
I would like to recommend Dragonborn Comes or Hoist the Colors, they are both quite good.
My mother told me is also great
"Queen in 5 Minutes" is also great. :-)
@@suzybailey5501 Yep, and I speak from personal experience! 16 Tons was an eye-opening experience in so many ways.
Geoff's lowest chest note so far is an F#1
@@huldradraco Thanks. I knew it was somewhere in that neighborhood.
He is and I can't get enough of his videos and voiceplay. I love acapella groups.
Hello Lisa how's it going with you over there?
My favorite Voice Play video is "Hoist the Colours". But Geoff solo work of "Over the Misty Mountains Cold" will show you how low Geoff can go.
In his latest cover of ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone by Bill Withers he doesn’t go as low consistently but he sings in a really breathy A1 that is absolutely astounding.
that was jaw dropping omg the ending, thanks for sharing
Love your reaction
Yes Geoff is a bass god with a range of 5 octaves. They all take turns for leads but to be fair they normally do songs and each take a part... I love Geoff's low notes in Hoist the colours. Which also show the talents of the others. They're all amazing. Sub so that i can see your amazement at the others.
5 octaves? Is not true.
@@RED_WIND.
Been listening to them for a while
Hello Michael how's it going with you over there?
I believe Santa was Geoff's brother in-law.
I’m a hardcore Voiceplay fan. I love me some Geoff, but as you fall down the rabbit hole, I can’t wait to watch you see how dynamic they ALL are. So excited!!!!!! Girthy Gang +1 Subscribed! ✅
Geoff Castellucci is the name of him :D Amazing dude, def react to more of his stuff!
Send1t-
So in the A Cappella world, there is The Trifecta of A Cappella:
Pentatonix-Won The Sing Off Season 3-technically PERFECT- The Cheerleaders and Jocks! Absolutely adored by everyone and rightly so-they paved the way
Home Free-Won The Sing Off Season 4-The only A Cappella group claiming their “Country” but slay any genre.
Geoffs expanded his range the last few months to 4 octaves. Dudes insane.
As a gamer and a capella enjoyer, you'll probably love both Dragonborn Comes (yes, dovah speach included) and the Halo theme by VoicePlay
You should watch Geoff's version of aint no sunshine! The highs and lows in that are incredible! Unbelievable
LOL I never get tired of seeing people react to that ULTIMATE low note at the end.
I'm new because of voice play welcome to the VP family
Yes!!! This is even the song I wanted you to check out!
How did he get that deep and it look so effortless… I’m here like, wait for it lol
8:30 there it is 😂🤣
That's geoff castellucci he's got a lot of good solo work
Try "MY MOTHER TOLD ME", from them. They truly have a BUNCH of jaw droppers, but Geoff is truly insane when he does his parts!
Geoff isn’t the lead singer per se, he was just the lead for this song. They tend to switch up across projects
I love how ot shows he watched 43 seconds of the video but still acts amazed at whats happening. 🤣🤣🤣
Yes, VoicePlay was on The Sing Off too. They’re awesome. Watch their video of Tennessee Whisky! 😊
I loved this reaction! Your reaction was so hilarious! Thanks for this. Can't wait to see more!
This. Was fantastic! I can’t wait to see more!!! I vote for !!! hoist the colors!!! One of my favorites!
Hello Cynthia how's it going with you over there?
Welcome to the world of VoicePlay and Geof!! This is one of my favorites that they did!
Geoff has a magnificent voice range! Voice play was on the show! Santa is a neighbor of one of the guys.
hold on to your seat! this is gonna be one heck of a ride down the rabbit hole!
this song always gives me goosebumps 😂
Me at 3:11 - "Oh babe, just wait." I am SO glad you checked them out! Your face throughout this was priceless! Isn't Geoff amazing?! Thanks for taking a listen. ♥
Always saddens me that no one has heard of VoicePlay as they deserve so much more love and attention. They are amazing! Also pretty sure they have been around since the late 90s but were called something else in he beginning
1997. I think first they were four2five.
Both geoff and Tim ( home free) are the bass singers for their respective groups and both groups were on the show " the sing off"
Always amazing to see someone experiencing voiceplay for the first time. You been missing out!
Voiceplay was on The Sing-Off the same season that Home Free won it. VP finished 5th or 6th. Back then, they had a female lead singer in addition to the five guys.
The personnel in this vid is their standard 2017 thru 2020 lineup:
Earl Elkins Jr., high tenor. [Earl left the group in 2020 and his slot is still open. They're currently making vids with various guest artists.]
Eli Jacobson, second tenor.
JNone [Jesse Nunn III], baritone. [JNone left the group in 2021 and was replaced by Cesar De La Rosa.]
Layne Stein, vocal percussion and backup baritone/bass.
Home Free and Voiceplay have both been on 'The Sing Off'!!!
Subscribed! I love a capella, and I am so here for all of it. And I dig your style. Great reaction!
It’s gross. Lol
Santa is Geoff's brother-in-law
Yes that's his brother in law Pasquale, who is a very talented man in his own right, and his daughter is in the Just Sing video
Please do some of Geoffs solo work! Blackbird is a great place to start, I would be so stoked!
First time VP reactions are the best. Definitely keep down the rabbit hole. Check out their cover of Dragonborn Comes.
Coldplay - Champion Of The World (Official Video)
Avi Kaplan (formerly of Pentatonix), Tim Foust (of Home Free) & Geoff Castellucci (of VoicePlay) all have incredible range (roughly 5 octaves) the 3 are WELL KNOWN for hitting notes so low, they've fried Microphones, Stage Speakers & Subwoofers.
It's a good thing they've all sworn to use their superpowers for "good".
If they all hit their super Sub-harmonic at the same time, they'd likely be able to sink a Continent
Geoff is a crazy bass singer. Another crazy one: check Michael Mills on the day that the world breaks down. He has a range of 4.5 octaves 👍👍
I watched this before and now that I see you watching it makes me smile even more it’s so goooood!!
Such a fun reaction. Please go down the VoicePlay rabbit hole. You can also check out Geoff's channel where he does more amazing things. You will not be disappointed!
I loved your reaction! Yes more reactions!!!
You have to watch Just Sing w/ captions on. It's a must. You'll love it.
You should check out voiceplay doing my mother told me or Geoff singing sixteen tons
thanks for cheeking out the song
This is a great starter video for Voiceplay. Geoff Castellucci (pronounced Jeff) is amazing in it. You will notice cast changes within the group as you get into the newer stuff. Santa isn’t in Voiceplay, but is a friend or neighbor or brother in law or something.
He is Geoff’s brother-in-law, Kathy’s brother. If you watch Just Sing, Santas daughter, Kristen, is the first singer.
This is the best reaction to this song I have seen.
Have fun.
The Chris Daughtry comment made me shoot beer out my nose, and across the room. lol.
Tim worked with Geoff on the growl technique, but Jeff credits David Larsen with teaching him subharmonics.
Hello Kathryn how's it going with you over there?
@@stefandieter4044 Fine and well in Stratford Upon Avon, thanks.
How's the weather conditions over there?
they switch leads and the main group is the face painted guys, but theyll bring other ppl in with them, so the santa is a guest type of thing
