As much as I admire John and his ability in music I can’t agree. He’s sings on a lower subject here, possibly because he’s got trouble reaching the high notes as he did when he was young. That’s absolutely natural but you would be lying to yourself and everyone else here if you would claim that his voice has improved compared to back then. If you like his voice more in this version that’s simply because of taste and perhaps admiration.
He got a surgery in his throat around the late 80s early 90s. He had something I think his vocal chords area that could cause cancer so he got it removed and his vocals were afectes by this that’s why.

Recently i have seen my friends from work losing their fathers, and i immediately think about mine: unfortunately this day will come. And suddenly. And regardless of whether I'm prepared or not, it's going to hurt a lot.
I love this song! One of the best artists ever!!! Tomorrow I will have a great honor to watch Sir Elton John live for the first time in my life... thank You God for this opportunity! So so Happy!!!

Such a tragedy that his producer died in a car accident with his wife just 5 months before this concert. Elton is a great humanbeing, so considerate and caring and this shows in his great appreciation of his producer and friend.
