Mastemon is the jogress of only the ultimate levels makes me wonder how powerful and amazing it would look if it was a jogress of the ultimates of Ophanimon + Lilithmon.

I'm playing Hackers memory....couldn't find the first one, I'll play it later. I'm in chapter 8, my starter botamon is now MetalSeadramon and I have Angewomon and Ladydevimon in the team. Angewomon at level 40.
Just 10 levels more, get 22% more of CAM with Lady D and a 1 stat she needs some work on...and I will be able to jogress her

To throw my own hat into the ring regarding Mastemon and Lucemon, I do agree that you have to be careful in comparing them. Yes, they have a lot of similarities on the surface, but they differ greatly at their core, with many of them coming from how they interact with the light and dark powers they command.
Mastemon is defined by how she interacts with the world, or worlds, as the case may be. If she heals or destroys something, it is not for the sake of healing or destroying, but because she seeks some form of balance in the situation at hand. Since the two Digimon that form her core are normally diametrically opposed, and a Jogress usually requires a unifying factor, then it's likely that the reason why a Jogress like this is possible is because both Digimon in question understand that the other is necessary, even if they don't truly get along and especially if both of them desire that the world keep on turning. Angelic mercy that heals wounds and brings succor, and demonic fury to punish the wicked and break destructive revelry. Balance for the sake of the self and the world. And it's that desire for balance that her...well, her.
But what does that mean for Lucemon? Lucemon is defined by his origins, an expy of the fallen angel, Lucifer. As a result, Lucemon inherits many of his inspiration's qualities, including his fixation on pride. Just take a look at his Digivolution line. In his Rookie form, he's still regarded as Lucemon, but he's a pure and untainted angel of light, but his Chaos Mode is listed as an Ultimate, and his Satan Mode (or Shadowlord Mode, if you prefer) is his Mega. This is clearly meant to mimic how Lucifer fell from grace, but it affects how Lucemon's Chaos Mode might be interpreted.
Lucemon is a prideful being. In his mind, he can do anything and everything, including wielding the opposing powers of light and darkness without drawback or restraint. In other words, while Lucemon Chaos Mode might hold the powers of light and darkness in balance within himself, it's not because he seeks balance. Rather, being able to wield the powers of light and darkness simultaneously is supposed to be the ultimate show of his own supremacy, especially in terms of power. The fact that he had take another Digimon's digicore to do this only exemplifies this, as it proves he's interested in his own gain over even the lives of others, and the fact that his Mega Form is almost entirely a dark and demonic entity, suggesting he fell OUT of balance, proves that true balance between light and dark doesn't really matter all that much to him.
So the comparison between Lucemon and Mastemon doesn't really mix. Mastemon holds light and darkness in balance in its own pursuit for proper equilibrium, while Lucemon holds them in balance, simply because he wants to prove he's awesome sauce. Mastemon seeks equilibrium because she's formed of two Digimon who don't really get along, but at least endeavor to accept each other. Lucemon wants to prove he's awesome sauce, because he's 1337, yu n00b haxors@! The two of them couldn't be more different, even with their aesthetic similarities.
And with that in mind, while Mastemon can be formed through a Jogress because of her nature, I doubt Lucemon's own self-serving nature would permit the same conditions. The guy's a jerk. I mean, it's possible Devimon could steal Angemon's core, but that doesn't necessarily guarantee he'd become Lucemon, now would it? It would just mean he did the same thing Lucemon did. And I'm not saying Angemon and Devimon can't Jogress with each other at all, either. After all, Angewomon and LadyDevimon were able to do it. But if they did, it most likely wouldn't become Lucemon. It would probably be some other yet unnamed, unseen Digimon instead.
I agree with most of Dragonpit's comment, but I'd like to add that I feel that Lucemon Chaos Mode is an embodiment of the Duality of Good and Evil, and how the beliefs of any Divine Being can lead to both Peaceful Unity or Zealous Persecution, depending on the way one Justifies it.
Take Lucemon CM's attack Dead or Alive, for instance. This move has Lucemon combining orbs of Light and Darkness Energy together and launching it at an opponent. If it envelops the target, there is a 50% Chance the unstable energies within the sphere will tear them apart, scattering their data around multiple dimensions - no matter _how powerful_ they are!
However, there is _also_ an exactly 50% Chance that the sphere will simply fade away, doing *absolutely nothing* to the opponent! And with the amount of energy and focus it takes to perform, a dud attack can be difficult to recover from.
Lucemon CM may be able to wield both Divine and Demonic energy, but he cannot fully control the unstable power created from the combination of those energies...
Mastemon on the other hand, is the perfect fusion of Light and Darkness in Total Balance: Two Equal and Opposite forces working together in the face of a Threat larger than either could handle individually, and when the conflicting nature of the Two would usually prevent them from working alongside each other. If you take this Interpretation of Mastemon's lore, you could justify this DNA Digivolution in situations that *aren't* Multiverse-Threatening End-of-Reality Scenarios, though this would only be a temporary fusion of the Two. A situation like this occurs in Digimon Re:Arise, over something as petty as Cake - I kid you not...
@@lianaverwood9810 You see, the big issue I have with this is that at least part of the argument you supplied assumes that Lucemon is in any way interested in doing his job as an angel. And he's not. He's no where near that deep. The jerk is egomaniacal. Interested in only in himself and his own gain. And that kind of shoots the symbolism in the foot.
Lucemon isn't an angel that takes the law to its logical extreme; if he does, it's less about the law and more about him and how he benefits above all else. And he only cares about the unity of the Digimon beneath him if it serves him. He's like the CEO of a company who constantly thinks about the next big way to wring money out of his customers while short-changing his employees, skirting and ignoring the rules when it serves him, and punishes those who do the same because it undercuts his own bottom line. At the end of the day, Lucemon only believes in himself. That's all that matters to him.
If you want to talk about a Digimon who is Divine and has beliefs that can lead to unity or persecution, Raguelmon and Ordinemon are better fits.
Raguelmon is a Fallen Angel Digimon, despite its bestial appearance, and was charged with keeping other Angel Digimon from falling...by destroying them. But it was shunned for its role, and eventually grew to presecute everything out of nihilism.
Ordinemon is a Fallen Angel Digimon who is formed from Ophanimon Falldown Mode (A Digimon known for her love and mercy, overwhelmed by pain and anger over the rejection of said love and mercy) and Raguelmon. Ordinemon, as a result, believes that the kindest thing she can do for the world is to end it and return it to nothingness.
Seraphimon can fill a similar role if it becomes ShadowSeraphimon. Seraphimon himself is defined as an Angelic Digimon that enforces the laws of the Digital World from on high. But if it becomes too resentful of others, it darkens and becomes ShadowSeraphimon, suggesting that it can't become too biased against offenders and and stop being fair, or it'll fall.
Interestingly, Ophanimon Falldown Mode and ShadowSeraphimon can also darken further and become Lilithmon (or Laylamon, if you prefer) and Daemon respectfully, both of which are also Demon Lords, like Lucemon, making for a better analysis of Divine Beliefs than Lucemon himself.
@@Dragonpit I am aware of those things, and yes, the premise of Justification does work better with Digimon like Ophanimon Falldown Mode and ShadowSeraphimon.
I do still feel however that while Lucemon does completely abandon all Angelic Ideals, he still began as a prodigy of an Angel - his Pride in his power and abilities is what led him to seek higher Dominion, using his charisma to lead a Hostile Takeover of the Divine Realms. This failed, and Lucemon fell from grace - only keeping some of his angelic powers because he tore the DigiCore out of one of his peers during the revolt and grafted it into himself.
Pride was Lucemon's Sin, and resulted in his descent into Evil. But he wasn't _born_ evil, just prideful, and his belief that he was a better choice to lead the Divine Realms only led to his downfall. While this isn't the _best_ example of Justification for an Angelic Being to perform Evil acts, it still is one.
Lucemon, as I mentioned, is more about the Duality of Good and Evil compared to Mastemon's Balance of those same things. Lucemon truly believes that he should be in full control of the other realms, and uses his ability to wield both Divine and Demonic Energy as proof of this - but that doesn't mean that he has complete control of those forces. He attempts to convince others that he does, and usually succeeds, but a true full-on battle would reveal the 50/50 nature of his abilities and reveal his deception - so he prefers to use his charismatic talking to turn others to his cause.
This means that Lucemon is doing Double-Duty lorewise as both the Fallen Angel Lucifer and the False Prophet in the texts of the Rapture, where Heaven and Hell's armies will have their final War on the Earth. This becomes Triple-Duty if you take into account that Lucemon's final Digivolution, Satan Mode, houses what could be the equivalent of the Anti-Christ, Lucemon Larva Mode.
Even in Digimon, no one is *truly* born Evil - even the Viral Baby-Stage Digimon have the capacity to evolve into a force for Good with appropriate care and discipline, just like how a poor upbringing will turn any Digimon into a corrupt and malicious being...
Watching this video made me think back to my time playing digimon world next order and Kuzuhamon and Sakuyamon and how they carry the yin yang symbols as part of them, their miko/maid modes and their ties to the gods of the digi world. In next order taomon (sakuyamons ultimate) talks about the balance of the digi world and not wanting to interefere, whereas we see Kuzuhamon actively trying to change it which plays to how mastemon and lucemon seem to be portrayed. That and they’re both members of the nightmare soldiers and virus busters. I’d love to know more if you can deep dive that.

Supporting the multiverse theory, in Cyberslueths post game, Mirei tells us that if a demon lord (lucemon for example) is destroyed in one world, the lucemon in the other worlds gain a power boost making them stronger than before.
To me, mastemon seems to be the opposite equivalent to lucemon. Like how everything has an opposite, light, dark, order, chaos, mastemon is the opposite of lucemon. Like being two sides of the same coin, they are both being that are fusions of light and dark. But lucemon is male while mastemon is female. Lucemon was depicted in a villainous role while mastemon is depicted heroic. Lucemon is ancient, mastemon is futuristic. And lucemon is one being that gained both light and darkness, while mastemon is two beings coming together to create light and darkness
Yeah I agree. I can also see him being a fusion of Angemon and Devimon, especially since when two ‘mons of the same level fuse, they tend to go up a level.

Another explanation would be : If lucemon is the dark and the brightside of the coin then mastemon is the "height" the depth of the coin. They grey line in between

Just a thought but could Homeostasis have anything to do with Mastemon, if she were to represent balance in any way maybe it had a hand in Mastemons creation as Homeostasis is always striving for balance. 🤷♂️
Thanks for using my comment. Btw what I meant to say is that lucemon isn't a 50/50 split. If u look at his head u will see he has more black wings than white ones. This signifies his predisposition towards evil. Mastemon seems not to have this problem. Meaning she can use her angel and demon powers at 100%, unlike lucemon who is being hold back by his angel side. Maybe this is why mastemon can travel trough time and space and lucemon can't. A matter of proficiency rather than power.

Oh yeah Mastemon the Digimon I’m sure a certain group of twin masterminds would have. Was initially Sus, then I saw Masafumi Takada is the composer of the game and became more so. Things have Have multiple influences and I believe that maybe 1 of them.
Especially when their human partner makes a Monzaemon out the “Sins” of the 7 Demon lord as joke.

@@jumnei5159 What if the Angewomon and Lady Devimon where originally from a pair of twins like Terriermon & Lopmon. I think back to when we see Terriermon and Kokomon in the Digimon Movie belonging to Willis. In Tamers we also see a split of sorts with Henry's Terriermon and what comes to be Suzie's Lopmon though in this case there isn't the initial connection, but the state of for a time being an enemy is still there. In summarization perhaps either 1 or 2 character(s) had them but through something or other Lopmon is lost resulting in a more corrupt digivolution into L. Devimon while Terriermon became Angewomon, alternatively you could have them be two Nyaromon/Salamon being separated from each other instead. It's just that I personally like the Terriermon/Lopmon angle more given their twin nature.

seeing both mastemon & lucemon and also remembering a previous vid topic, lucemon is fallen mastemon is not all because of the mask/helm (& previous topic nostalgia covered) yet i suspect there is more to why mastemon hasn't fallen & lucemon has that we may never know.1 guess is that DNA-Evo leaves less room for outside forces to tamper with the mon during development than Exp/normal rookie-to-champ-Evo and so on.

In digimon world: next order, Mastemon can digivolve from MayCrackmon VM, maybe because they are the in between of salamons holy and dark lines so they have the needed data
While similar, I don't think Lucemon and Mastemon are supposed to be equivalents/reflections of each other. Lucemon follows more the story of Lucifer's fall; he was one of teh highest ranking angels before he led heaven to war and was cast out. Lucemon's appearance seems to reflect that; The angelic side as what it was and the demonic as what it is becoming; again showing how it transitions through it's digivolution line. With Lucemon fallen, its no longer considered an angel, which is why Seraphimon is considered the highest rank for angel digimon.
With Mastemon, I agree with it being a result of two total opposites becoming one and having that total balance. Her appearance would be more to reflect this perfect balance; which is why she is split directly in half, unlike Lucemon who's main body only has the head wings and the tattoo on one side to differ the sides.
I think she would fall more with the story of Mastema when comparing the natures of both Angewomon/Lady Devimon and their respective Megas (Ophanimon is loving, merciful, and forgiving, while Lilithmon is a cruel temptress; Mastema can play either role). Mastemon could likely act in both manners and would be the only one likely to gather both sides to fight as one.
I was also interested in why this form uses these two rather than Lilithmon and Ophanimon. I speculated because the ultimates aren't at the complete ends of their spectrums (we've seen Angewomon be somewhat petty/catty when she fought Lady Devimon). Perhaps the ultimates have a bit of the other sides nature (so the little ying in yang and vice versa) which allows them to be stable, as opposed to being purely light and purely dark (as their megas) and likely be an unstable fusion or yield something along the lines of Ordinemon. As a result, Mastemon probably has power that surpasses Lilithmon or Ophanimon but is a stable combination (unlike Rafflesimon for example)
In the cybersleuth games both angemon and devimon can be de-digivolved into the rookie lucemon. So the theory may hold more weight

It could be that even though they may hate eachother they can still put their differences aside to complete their task. It’s not about the struggle for control like Paildramon or dinobeemon. They know the threat will wipe them out if they don’t do everything they can so they merge perfectly. Think of it like twins. They split apart as embryos but at one time were the same being. What if a maestemon is just twin Digimon who were able to fuse together again

Mastemon would be my partner evolution line but by bio merging w. Angewomon n lady devimon.
I would start off w. The twin digimon terriermon n lopmon. Then they would digivolve into gatomons black n white then into their ultimates.
If we don't bio merge they would evolve to. Lilithmon n Venusmon respectively.
Mastemon is like the shining darkness that shines with the light darkness isn't truly evil it's just misused by evil digimon to bring together both holy and unholy digimon together means to bring light and darkness as a whole and fight as one cause one can not live without the other where there is light there is darkness and for a Digimon like Mastemon to unify them in a great crisis means she holds more power and more understanding of both light and darkness since Angewomon and Ladydevimon are basically sisters and what do siblings do they fight which probably makes their DNA digivolve more complete to understanding one another and that's very scary powerful if you think about it
And yeah i love Ladydevimon she's my favorite besides terriermon lol and that's the kind of understanding i have with the character so if i was a chosen one i would want blackgatomon as my partner and hell give me a crest of darkness and we would punish those who misuses Darkness for power and to hurt others in their place and to keep the balance the equilibrium between the dark and the light

IIRC, in Digimon World Dawn/Dusk, you could, in fact, Jogress Angemon and Devimon into LucemonFM.
I think it would be interesting, if Lady Devimon also have a human Partner in the series
I mean she is partnered with Merei and can be partnered with any player in a digimon game but yeah, it would be awesome for her to be partnered with a human and put in a position to be a hero in the anime. Maybe if we ever get a series with a female goggle head lead for a double twist.
Mastemon has always been in my top 3 mons and it is sad that it never plays a major role plot wise in the anime or games as far as I know. It also slightly bothers me that Mastemon is considered a Mega and not an Ultra in Cyber Sleuth but she was my first lvl 99 and is definitely my most used mon
I think i know who digivolves to reapermon (the final boss in that one digimon fighting game you made a video about a while back) in digmon adventure 2020 episode 31, about 15 and a half miunets in a metalphantomon digivolves into a digimon that looks JUST like it

Let's not forget, in Digimon Adventure 02 the Digimon Emperor created Chimeramon, a synthetic Digimon created from data particles of various different Digimon. This is a bit different than other Digimon that have humans as part of their origins that state they were primarily created by altering their core data. Some people would say Chimeramon is a high-level threat to the Digital World. Obviously, this origin might be retconned in the future, like maybe Chimeramon could be a creation of Milleniamon's power in the future.
Given Chimeramon is half of Milleniamons origin and Ken was under the effect of Milleniamons spore, Milleniamon may have ensured its origin data was created via time shennanigans.
@@SpaceRodan But there are a lot of logistical problems with time travel, most of which are power demands and navigational control. Some Digimon, like Clockmon, are said to have the ability to manipulate time around them but I'm not aware of any Digimon with the power to travel in time or with the ability to develop working time travel technology.
Also, given how the timeline is set up in the Digimon Adventure 2020 series, that would also mean Milleniamon would need to find a way to ensure Chimeramon travels back far enough in the future, assuming Ken as the Digimon Emperor is responsible for the creation of Chimeramon again in the new follow-up series, so that it can reach the point of evolving into Milleniamon again and start the ancient war. Of course, that would also mean it would have to set to trigger the series of events that allowed for Chimeramon's creation, to begin with, which would include the Chosen Children/Digidestined to come to the digital world as well as the kids that follow in their footsteps because of how linked the origins of the two groups seem to be. This means, in a way, Milleniamon needs to arrange for the series of events that result in its own defeat. Kind of funny when you think about it.
@@dracone4370 It ties into one of the earlier games. The one starring Ryo. He nearly wiped out the entire multiverse. Ryo had to fuse it with his partner to contain his power, thus creating the cyberdramon we see in tamers.
As for time travel, at full strength thats essentially effortless for Zeedmilleniamon. He can already blast his opponents across time and space, and even cause paradoxes. Doing so to himself is easier. Zeed exists at such an absurd level, that only one of it can exist in the multiverse at once.
And this if one is somehow defeated, a Milleniamon or Moon=Milleniamon elsewhere is eligible to take the Zeed mantle.
@@SpaceRodan even though a lot of what you are saying contains a lot of hyperbole. Zeedmilleniummon spends just as much getting yoinked around not having any real control as much as Ryo. The conflict there also really wasn't about multiversal destruction or capabilities (the guy created and destroyed a pocket dimension, and took over/threatened an old and pretty much dead server I think. That's pretty much it for his capabilities) but instead centered on the concept of a self fulfilling prophecy with how Ryo would be his end and Zeedmilleniummon spent the entire time trying to avoid and/or prevent this. The claim that he took control of the future and past is not only dubious but also an oxymoron. To have control of what will and what was but has no impact or influence on what is means that he is ephemeral and has no real power. Furthermore he had no impact on the human world whatsoever which puts a massive damper on any multiversal claims and is completely eclipsed and buried by the D-reaper which did have a massive impact on the human world (mainly because of idiocy on both human and digimon sides allowing it to grow to such a point) and whom Justimon a biomerge digimon which also contains Zeedmilleniummon's power and data aided and faught against the D-reaper and wasn't even a major factor in the end. Zeedmilleniummon's fanfare and popular perception is mostly due to complete hyperbole and conflation with the Millenniumon from the Digimon fusion (or cross) manga which is outright a separate existence that has nothing in common with the original Zeedmilleniummon that Ryo had to deal with.

Milleniumon's mere birth created a time slip that created the Anode and Cathode game timelines. And his birth is very much a paradox. The Mugendramon and Chimeramon that form him are the same ones fought by Wargreymon and Magnamon. They didn't actually kill them they just critically wounded them. Gennai confirms it in the game.

i have two questions for one if you remember in the first digimon adventure series at one point they mention how your nothing but data in the digital world so therefore if you were to die your physical body would return to the human world except in digimon adventure tri loss and or future mister Nishigima dies in the digital world and does not return do you have any entail on why this is oh and can you do a video on tareriarmons amour forms because in digimon adventure 02 the movie tareiarmon was able to digivolve with the egg of miracles i believe it was.
If you die in the digital world you're pretty much dead. You are data so anything that goes on can and will kill you.

I'm not going over the games and manga as those are filled with multiversals.
Where does it say that lucemon ismore powerful than mastemon? We dont actually know that as we dont even canonically know mastemoms power. Outliers such as lucemon and mastemon dont follow normal power scales or indications.
I also dont like how it appears that once holy digimon or any other good digimon upon losing their grace, holy rings or whatever else, suddenly become evil. I get that their form may change but it ahouldnt mean they turn inherently evil. Its like they dont have their own personality or principles as they change with their form. Surely a good digimon could be capable of manipulation and doing bad deeds. Likewise there should be dark digimon that have their own outlook on the world and dont just exist to kill and destroy. This is precisely why my favourite is BKWargeymon. He was virus and a dark version of the original but he had his own personality, he questioned his own meaning and everything he was doing. He wasnt just mindlessly evil because he is a “Black” variant. This is a reason why I think the digimon lore is largely one dimensional at times.
I agree that it's weird all digimon of a certain species are seen as having the same personality rather then being individuals. Though both times Beelzemon show's up in the anime, he ultimately ended up being a good guy (I'm aware it took him longer in Tamers then the second series he was in to do so but he did ultimately do the right thing) and he's considered a demon lord so maybe it's just the rule rather then the exception.
My personal belief is that BlackGatomon turns into LadyDevimon and BlackGatomon is the result of a Salamon or Lopmon or whatever Rookie you get her from, being attacked by a virus as an egg and while the egg stopped too much damage being done, it did slightly corrupt the data which is why it's a virus attribute but it doesn't have to be evil. It's just a bit harsher and aggressive then it should be. Given the right enviroment it can do just as much good as it's holy counterpart.
Same with LadyDevimon, since she's considered and evil she-demon, she gets treated like one until she decides to act the part. But if she comes from a place where she's not treated any differently, I don't see why a LadyDevimon can't be good, just a bit more ruthless and end justifies the means then an Angewomon would be. But I'm biased because I LOVE LadyDevimon. Then again, there are other virus digimon that can be good guys and in the original season 1, at least early on, I think it's pretty much stated that all virus digimon are evil even though we know that's not the case now (Guilmon - Gallantmon for example).
Maybe it's just harder for virus digimon to be seen as the good guys because you have to consider they are creatures made of digital data and viruses corrupt or destroy data so it's natural other data based creatures would be wary of them.
- There is an evil organization in Digimon World 1. Most of the members are agumons.
- Guilmon in Tamers : He is a virus type who becomes good by growing up with Takato
- Gallantmon and Omegamon in anything involving the royal knights : Gallantmon is a virus type who in a lot of alternative universes disagree with or betray his god ( Yggdrasil ) and still he protect the innocent digimons at all cost. Omegamon is a holy being who struggle when he has to choose between obeying his master or doing what he thinks is right.

We do know actually. Mastemon took on two Royal Knights at once(multiversals) and almost sent one to oblivion in ReArise. Lucemon Child played around with Dynasmon,Lordknightmon and Mastemon in ReArise.
Well isn't this a treat. I have been itching for a long video like this one. Though I am surprised that most of my comments didn't make it, particularly how Mastemon perfectly represents the final stage of human development Gemini.
I don't think Mastemon would try to convince a person to kill 100 people simply because it shows up before potential armageddon and such a direction would be counterintuitive for the most part. I can however see Mastemon being hit with the digital version of a de-aging ray and being forced into the rookie stage, thus creating a unique line to herself. I do not believe that there are multiple of her or others like her, the royal knights, Olympus 12, and such because not only is digivolution incredibly individual specific but these entities are quite singular existences. You are not going to have multiple Imperialdramon paladin modes, multiple Omnimons, multiple Susanoomon, or multiple Shoutmons outside of game mechanics, especially since a good majority came about through digi destined and digivice shenanigans.
You do have to keep in mind Nostalgia that the "multiverse" for digimon only consists of three to four worlds. The human world, the digital world, the spirit world, and if one counts the eaters' place of origin as another dimension then there is the Eaters world. Furthermore three of the worlds (digital, human, and spirit) are in different realms of existence which funnily enough can be labelled or described as pertaining to mind (quantum realm which the digital world exists within), body (the material realm which includes the human world), and spirit (which of course houses the spirit world among countless others on the other side of eternity) which is quite cute. For the digital world any sufficient accumulation of data such as a jump drive's worth is a digital world. So it isn't anything like the Marvel or DC or even the Pokemon multiverses at all and structured completely different. How this confusion came about I am fairly sure is that the writers (especially that guy) have no clue or knowledge on what they are writing about and constantly tries to retroactively impose the laws that govern our world on a world that operates on a completely different rulebook. There are many, many, domains and principalities. The bible outright tells us that. The digital world is only such one such principality. If that doesn't give you a sense of scale, I don't know what does.
As to what that threat which created Mastemon is? I like to joke and think that it is Necrozma which probably isn't the case but it is also a reality that can easily be done given Necrozma's nature. The interactions and relationships between Necrozma, Mastemon, and Lucemon would be very nuanced and interesting. To put it at the most simplistic: Mastemon is raising a massive army to get Necrozma to bugger off, Necrozma sees Lucemon as an 'all you can eat' buffet topped with whipped cream and cherries, and Lucemon is constantly scheming to deal with the both of them. All three parallel and mirror each other in multiple ways and quite exceedingly at that.

Couldn't the ordeal with Sayo be considered as the og cyber sleuth game she had her digimon taken from her but she was from Digimon dusk and dawn could it not be considered that the seven deadly sin mons could be that dangerous. Also another point of view on this digimon is that it is meant to represent not balance but the concept that at times opposing forces need to work together to stop a common enemy. While angels and demon digimon see each other as threats there is at times consenting stances between the two when a threat pops up that neither can defeat alone. Mastemon could be seen as a representation of that resolve as both ladydevimon and angewoman agree to fuse together to stop a common threat similar to how goku and vegita in dragon ball z who dislike one another and see themselves as rivals are willing to put aside those differences in order to fight something they can not fight alone.
Also it can be see that there are connections for lucemon with angemon and devimon as if you play cyber sleuth and digivolve lucemon the child version it can not only go to its fighter form but can digivolve into devimon or angemon.

When I first saw mastemon I originally thought it was the last royal knight. A new female member and a contrast to lucemon. Obviously I’m wrong the last member goes to jesmon (Jesus)
JESmon actually means "Justice Edge Saber" and doesn't have any ties to Jesus. Confusing I know considering that the previous stage had savior in the name but this confusion arouse because they forgot to capitalize the JES in JESmon. It is supposed to be an anagram just like the doru in dorumon.

Bizarrely or really not so bizarrely, due to the misunderstanding being so pervasive and old, a mythology has aroused surrounding it to justify its existence. This is exactly what happens with actual mythology. Makes you wonder about these franchises a few millennium down the line. The war between pokemon and digimon written down in holy texts, placed in the stars for all eternity, and told through numerous stories.
