In the last story OP is awful. Their mother has dementia and they're going to leave her to her own vices??? Would you hold a 4 year old accountable for being naive? This person doesn't understand dementia. They need to educate themselves. Yes, they are sick and having a hard time too, I'm not discounting that. If they understand the disease better that can alleviate a lot of the stress. A huge part of the stress of dealing with a dementia patient is expectations. The thing is, you can't have any. Everything changes constantly. You have to learn to deal with what is currently in front of you and roll with the punches. Getting to that point is a process. But if their health keeps them from giving direct care for her they need to at least arrange for care and take care of her finances. No excuse whatsoever to throw her to the wolves like that. Dishonorable conduct.
My God. That last story describes my (Former) MIL to a T! 🤬😭 She's a complete idiot and fallen for MULTIPLE scams but refuses help. I can relate to the Op's story but there is nothing I can do yet she calls 10 times a day demanding I help her. Or calls saying she fell etc. I'm so frustrated, exhausted, and drained. And we're not even related (by marriage) anymore but even her son won't deal with her shit anymore. And I'm stuck with her. 😔 plz just unalive me now. I can't do this anymore
