I hate airline passengers who don't plan according to what they need/want then get upset when other passengers won't switch with them. As OP called out, premium seats have premium fees. So obviously no one is gonna switch to a worse seat for someone else's pure convenience.
Where i'm from stealing others lunch is treated as theft and grounds for termination, dosen't matter your position.

I did the laxative prank on my girlfriends lunch because her lunches kept getting stolen at work. Plus, i added extremely hot sauce in her sandwich the next week. It burns twice, once going down. Second time when it comes out the next morning. Basically started delivering her lunch in person to stop the daily theft of her lunches.
With the first story, I think it was mislabeled. I think we can firmly put story one into the nuclear revenge category. not only did Mr. lunch thief get an absolutely epic case of Montezuma’s revenge, but he essentially got arrested by the bloody cops for prescription theft.

Last story: the savior was either former cop or military veteran, both are given similar training when you are by yourself and dealing with a hostile individual you are keeping in place till backup arrives. I know of the latter case given I am a US Navy veteran with some training received when one of the bases I was stationed at need assistance with patrolling the gates during a furlough for the civilian workers.

About the first story: I had lunch theives too. And chip theives. So the laxative remedy not likely to work, nor convenient.
Also had theives who didn’t eat the food, but throw it all away without telling me.
The big taped sign with my name and expiration date wasn’t visible to these theives! 😢 or so they claim.
So I purchased a lunch bag with a zipper and put a luggage lock. That was for the refrigerator.
. For the nonrefrigerated items at my work, a book bag or small knapsack, also with a zipper and luggage lock. The only way to secure my privacy and food.
Was thinking of getting a bike chain either a lock and securing that to the pole or something heavy that would be difficult to move, like the handle of the filing cabinet, if the thieves decide to “accidentally “ misplace the knapsack or lunch bag.
I wrote my name on a luggage tag (like one does when one travels by bus or plane) to make it clear I didn’t abandon or forget it was my bag. That wasn’t necessary. But I didn’t put past these scum bags.

I thought small claims court in the USA is under $10,000. And you are your own lawyer. Maybe that's only for rental court??
