Those 1996 Christmas specials really were special and it's lovely to see these places a relive those golden moments. I love looking up all the old filming locations, I'll to visit a few some day as I live in London.
I'm so torn! It's amazing to see the real life version of something we've watched for years, but i also still really want to believe it all actually happened in Peckham :)
The Bristol Episodes never had the same 'feel' as the London based ones imo. You could tell straight off that the Nelson Mandela house wasn't a London tower block.
My whole youth and now midle ages is attached to ofah ,me and my wife every winter have ritual and watch again again ofah .They ade LEGENDS in my country.Love and support from Bosnia 🇧🇦⚜️ to all OFAH fans and good ppl from UK .
Did you enjoy Minder too? That was shown during the 1980's same time as Only Fools and equally as brilliant! It's a bit extra special because Minder was filmed entirely on location only.
I live in Italy and with my family we watched all the episodes of Only Fools and Horses, this thanks to my mum Sheila from England! It is one of our favourites! We really thought it was all filmed in Peckam! Congratulations for your video, you’ve done a great job, thank you!!!!

I've loved this show since i was a kid in the mid 90s. I moved from the UK to the states several years ago and still watch these, which non of my US family and friends get I'm sure lol. One of the best comedies ever written. Great job finding the areas. Glad you found the entrance to the wine bar, "who's the tart" is one of my favourite lines haha.
well bugger me dead i watched originals with parents way back in the 80s,they were like my other family growing up with them, always reminds me of me mum now watching them on dvd, she used to shout me down from me bedroom to watch it, but i never knew it was filmed in bristol thank you
Great video. I live in the block of flats that the show was filmed in and we do get reguler fans visit as well as tours on the weekend. Wonderful show that I can watch again and again. Great to see the fandom still going strong and I hope that will always be the case.
I lived in bristol all my life, I know practically all locations of this amazing classic tv comedy There's so much more to see. Where you were stood showing where the wine bar was that was where rod met Cassandra. If you ever wanna look at more give me a shout il come along with ya.. great great video
Great video - I was at the flats and garages yesterday! Also check out Brunswick Square where Rodney takes Del to the dentist and then falls asleep in the van and the gerbil escapes!
Great video, loved it and the part the really struck a chord was when you said you’d love to bring your parents. I was the same with mine, we all watched them together - it just shows what a truly great show it was that it was so loved by every generation!
I've been to two locations in Bristol. In 'Fatal Extraction', when Del and Rodney emerge from the casino and are standing in the doorway. Me and my brother had a photo in that same doorway. The place in 'Heroes and Villains' where the van breaks down. Nowadays, it's right next to Cabot Circus.
Great video Ash. If you’re ever in London do check out the early series 1-5 locations in west London area, mostly in Acton & Ealing. These were before they moved to filming in Bristol from series 6 onwards, when the show got ginormous
Fascinating stuff. I work two streets away from where they filmed the Peckham market scenes and Sid’s Cafe in the episode ‘To Hull and Back’, both of which are not actually south London but in Hull itself, situated just round the corner from Hull New Theatre. The cafe, which did exist then, has now been ‘returned’ to residential use and the corner where they bump into Slater is now a pub, back then it was just derelict and boarded up.
Awesome watches mate, took down all the locations and went to look for ourselves. So thank you for that!! Your leg work has helped us make some (and relive some) great memories 💯👍🏼
Fantastic video, thanks. I'm a huge fan of OFAH. I had no idea alot was filmed in Bristol. Always thought London was the main place. Really interesting, top work 👍
@@FromTheAsh Thanks just saw it! I remember it was a wet mild Autumn midweek evening around 8.30 when i was passing the Parkside and saw the car park lit up- me being the nosey type I just had to see what was going on, so I turned round the car and drove into the car park. There was a big truck parked on the car park with the back open and inside it was filled with all sorts of props including the Reliant Robin! Immediately working out what was going on, I had a walk around and saw Nick Lyndhurst speaking with a crew member on the corner where that scene was shot. Incredible to think that back then there was no security and I just wandered around unnoticed and unmolested!
Great video, love OFAH! I live in the flats opposite whitemead and there more locations around here nags head pub , boycie car yard ( but it down for destruction soon) and stadium car park was the market place. Plus I got a garage too 4 down from Del Boys .
You missed Boycies car showroom, just around the corner from Mandela House & Peckham market which is the car park between Ashton Gate - Bristol City ground - and Halfords.
The memories I've got from only fools and horses, I grew up living with just my Mum but I remember my Dad visiting, as he did weekly, the same night that the bar fall episode was on TV for the first time, I'd be about 13, I just remember sitting with him on the settee watching and as the scene went on out of the corner of my eye I could see my Dad edging closer and closer to the edge of his seat, sensing that something was about to happen. and as Del fell through the bar my Dad fell off the settee, just sat on the floor on his hands and knees , couldn't get up for laughing, Also, I'm a wheelchair user, those Bristol cobbles would give my arse an 'aedache.....
Great video. Having grown up near Bristol I've always known the later series were filmed here but have only recently tried to visit the locations. Seems I have more to find. Cheers 👍
