    Lead single from the 3rd album, Error. Song came out May 2021, album dropped in 2022.
    Their music videos are great, their live performances are awesome. Check out this song live at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 2022 and you will see and hear a unicorn, Ale (bass) sings lead vocals on a couple lines. an extreme rarity. she prefers backing vocals.
    No that wasn't sic, lol, "S!ck" is a song from the 4th album.😁 oooo, you haven't heard the drummer, Pau ,sing lead yet, try "Dust to Dust" or "23", live at the above mentioned Teatro concert.

    This was my first exposure to the grown up version of The Warning a few years ago. Hit me like a sledgehammer. Dany’s soul piercing stares, Ale’s snarling sneers, Pau absolutely hammering her kit, the dark lyrics, the soaring vocals. This… this was what those teeny tykes covering Metallica had become? Became a member of TWA on the spot.

    Live performance is where they are at. Scroll down to live performances on their channel and pick ANY SONG from the Teatro Metropolitan concert. They don't write any bad songs. That's not an exaggeration at all. They simply don't. The Warning is their own genre. You'll be very surprised of the variety of rock songs they write and perform. It's always surprising. But live is where they really excel. There are also two song from the Pepsi Center concert that are very recent and quite excellent. "Hell You Call a Dream" at Pepsi Center is one I think you'll enjoy. You wanna hear an exceptional cover of "Enter Sandman"? Check out the one at the Teatro Metropolitan.

    Dany has the best vocal talents found in the hard rock genre since Ronnie James Dio. Keep on reacting to The Warning!

      I might argue that Lzzy Hale might have the best natural voice, but Dany’s worked really hard to train her voice, and you can hear the work she’s put in on the last couple of albums.

      @@gerstelb That may be true, but it is not just her voice I am talking about - although it is indeed excellent and continues to improve. It is her phrasing & dynamics, combined with her passion, attitude and swagger that puts Dany at the top, IMO. There is a reason that the term "Dany face" exists, as she portrays a confidence that I have not seen since RJD.

    They have just started dropping the live performances from the biggest headlining show to date, from the Pepsi Centre in Mexico City, on their UA-cam channel, so keep an eye out for those, as they will be all pro shot 4k videos with an amazing audio mix also.

    At the time only the third song I’ve heard from The Warning. Dany’s eyes had me transfixed, held in place, until that first shock wave nearly knocked me out of my chair! Then her voice just kept getting louder, stronger, like there was no limit. I could not wait to hear what more they could do. The other day my son was playing around with AI, covering mostly Eminem songs. I asked him to do Choke. We both ended up laughing as the AI choked! It could not replicate Dany’s vocal range!

    Subbed for more of The Warning! Live is definitely their superpower. Danys voice is getting more powerful by the day, just amazing.

    I had found the "choke me 'til I drown" lyric a bit strange until I discovered that both the words choke and drown translate to the same word in Spanish, The Warning's native language. With this in mind, the lyrics are more understandable to me.

    • @MrJest2
      @MrJest2 18 днів тому

      Spanish sometimes is *extremely* contextual, so a lot of words have multiple meanings depending on the rest of the sentence. Most languages do the same thing, of course including English (although in English the same sounding words usually are differently spelled, but not always).

    The great thing about TW lyrics is they always leave a lot of room for interpretation... but I believe they wrote this song about dealing with loss and death.... Needing to choke and drown in the feelings of grief.

    one of the amazing things about these ladies is that they don't make bad music. so you're just getting your feet wet when it comes to their catalog. wait until you hear their second album, Queen of the Murder Scene, which is a concept album. In my opinion one of the best, if not the best, concept albums ever, and they created it as young teenagers. good news is that TWA will be here as you journey through all their material. that includes vlogs, documentaries, interviews, etc.

  • @MrJest2
    @MrJest2 18 днів тому +3

    It's not obvious in the video, but the kind of haunting "let me drown" lyrics in the middle are sung by Ale, the bass player. The interesting thing about this tune is that it became so popular because of this video. It was far from the band's favorite song on the album, but since their label put up the money for it, that's what they went with for the OMV kicking off the album, despite the ladies preferences. So, I guess that just shows that marketing people sometimes know what they are doing. 😋

    • @torresilk4277
      @torresilk4277 14 днів тому

      In the studio it was Dany, not Ale.
      For live Ale sings it so that Dany doesn’t have to go to the basement just to raise the roof right after.

    When they were first putting this song together, Pau wanted to rewrite the chorus to lower that high note to make it easier for Dany, but Dany insisted on keeping it as it was, and trained and practiced until she could nail it every time. (You can kind of hear her working to get there in the live version at the Teatro Metropolitan, but that’s kind of understandable, since Mexico City is at an elevation of about 7300 feet.)

    As someone who has dealt with overwhelming bouts of anxiety at times, this song represents to me the surrender to the metaphorical "drowning," with the understanding of the peace and recovery that will (probably) follow. Another song that works this way for me is Tatiana from Jinger singing "Dead Hands Feel No Pain," which feels like belligerent defiance against the overwhelming pressure.
    I remember an interview with a discussion of their writing this song, and Dany relayed how Pau had asked her if she should lower the vocal register a little bit, and Dany was like meh, I'll give it a shot (and of course she kills it).

    Solution: Do a "First Time Reaction" video for everything. Keep them off to the side until you want to release them. That way you can listen to the music without limits. 🙂
