It definitely made me rough around the edges and fearless as hell. I'll say that much and in no way do I claim to be a gangster.
No. Kids will NOT listen to what he SAYS but will emulate what he DOES. If he wanted to help them, he’d stop glorifying the flashy lifestyle that’s getting so many of our people killed.
Every gangster says that in every video “go to school” “this ain’t it” blah blah blah teach by example not by just talking. How you want kids in your neighborhood to change when you ain’t showing them a better way?

Rtan Barter- Deflection is a tactic used by the weak minded. You suggested he learn proper English while your English was quite poor. You need to start at home before you give other people advice.
What exactly does that mean? They can talk about getting out of the lifestyle but what are they doing? Talk is cheap. Start by dropping the N word from your vocabulary and dressing like trash. Pick up the trash, cut the grass. Stop loitering in the street and go to work.
We learn more by what we see than what were told. If people truly cared about the next generation, they would make the choice tonlive differently and show the next generation a better way. Much respect that people want kids to be better but we have to hold ourselves accountable as the older generation to show them a better way!
Honestly, not being judgmental or anything, but I don’t think people living In poverty should be having kids. It’s selfish to bring kids into poverty and suffering for selfish reasons.
The part w dude pulling up on the block and homie asking him “if his grandma cooked yet” definitely reminds me of me and my hood and just how it’s family oriented around there, like you can feel the love and tell lil homie ain’t bullshitt*n…

3:08 - I have so much respect for this dude. There are good people out there with a good moral compass's - there are many of us, we just need to start shining brighter...
I was born and raised in Detroit, pregnant at 19, and REFUSED to raise my child in the same environment and lack of opportunity. Before I knew it I was just another statistic - single mom with a minimum wage job, limited transportation, no college education. But I didn't let those barriers stop me - I just stepped over them. I wanted a better life. So, I had to trash the excuses and open the door to accountability. These seem like some really good people with amazing hearts! But living around all that nonsense and distraction will usually get in the way of a better way of life for us and our children. Now let's keep it real. One hundred thousand dollars on a car?? Jewels, grills, Cartier glasses, Louboutin shoes.....and still choosing not to move out and go where safety and education flourishes? No way in the world would I be doing justice to my child's future by depriving them of safety and a good education, yet blow hundreds of thousands on "that life" for clout. I could only tolerate hearing so many gunshots and witnessing senseless homicides take place before I knew it was time to go. Been out of the hood for almost 20 years and it's heartbreaking to see that not a damn thing has changed with the mindset. Living life with no plan is like driving a car without a destination. Eventually, the car is going to run out of gas and you'll find yourself stranded in the middle of nowhere...with your children in the back seat. To teach a better way is to show a better way. God bless you all and much love!
Snapp dogg been rich he probably stay in Rochester or grossepoint or some like that but yeah it is a culture Issue to be wearing luxury brands in the hood
I learned that high price name brand clothing has no real value..1 example during my traves in poor countries ..the people could careless about a name on a pair of pants or shoes they wear it for what it's used for that's it ..it's not a status symbol..2 I knew a Russian Jewish guy that owned a clothing store and I would always stop in during the off season to buy my clothes an I asked him one time how could u sell me a coogi shirt for 30 dollars but the tag say 90 dollars he said the summer is over an I'm still making a profit by selling it to u for 30 dollars.. I said how is that possible he said buy in bulk he getst it for way less than 30 dollars a shirt.. he said now imagine how many people brought it for 90 dollars ..once u learn the game u Learn not to play .. also I've met rich whyt people down on billionaire row in Manhattan dressed in old navy clothes ...
I’m Hispanic and grew up across the street from the projects in the inner city part of Miami. It’s true what they say, if you’re from the hood they take care of eachother. I was one of the only Hispanic kids living in the area and they treated me like I was one of their own. Old G’s always told us to stay in school and looked out for us, same as the guy in the video. I got a scholarship to play ball and moved to a nicer and safer area so to speak but it wasn’t the same. The family vibe, looking after eachother how we did all those years taught me a lot and made me the man I am today. Much respect to these dudes
This was so well done. These guys told their story about as real as you can. It wasn't all guns or drugs, they were able to share their thoughts on life, where they went to school, where you get the best food...loved it

Your not a "veteran" just because your In a gang and go and shoot at other gangs and survive, it makes you apart of the problem. It's disrespectful as fuck calling these idiots "veterans" when they put themselves in those situations compared to the men and women trying to defend our country... meanwhile these guys kill each other because they're from a different street or wear a different color, that shits wack as fuck and ain't nothing gangster about that, just a bunch of immature adults running around with guns thinking there badass

I'm from 7 mile in Detroit. Didn't expect HoodVlogs to pop up with a video of the city after following for so long. It's always interesting to get the perspective from the outside looking in.
I’m so impressed that you all are sharing all this. I’m from the west side since I was born….we couldn’t move because we didn’t have any money. I lived at 6 and greenfield. It wasn’t unusual for my mom to be about to leave to go to focus hope and her car was up on cinder blocks and all her tires gone. It took me a long time to learn how to sleep without hearing gunshots and yelling in the street. I watched my dad get shot in the back so he could be robbed. He only had $1.47 on him to get milk from the corner store. The shit is real, no joke. But growing up, I didn’t know any different. I felt that this was just how it was and this is how it will always be.
I can dig the positive message that he’s directing to the youth. We don’t have enough hood guys willing to go the extra mile and be involved. It’s one thing to talk it but, it’s another to actually do and stand on it. Salute to these brothers
If you pay attention there's really nothing that scary about Detroit in comparison to some other places. Everybody is just trying to keep afloat in an environment thats sinking around them. Common sense keeps you safe here.
Most people from The D are cool, laid-back individuals trying to make it. When it's time to handle business, it's time to handle business but as long as you're relaxed, you're good.
If these fellas keep pushing that positive attitude with a message of listening to your parents and trying to do what’s right…. Before you know it, that won’t be a “hood” it’ll be a shining light and a great example how the people can make a difference and change thing for the better!!! I’m super happy to hear what they have to say and by their body language, you can tell they mean it!!! Loved this video!
That will never happen. Lol. Life isn't a fairytale fella. You see how the government just abandons the people and the homes up there? They don't even have street lights. Lol. This is real life bro with lots of ignorant ass people who want to kill other and give no shits.

thats the whole point for me! many people come here criticize because they lack of understanding of things that u talking about. besides, HoodVlogs is there like a cientist in the middle of the wild, just observing, recording, showing us the reality of it, without judgement.
Most of these guys have undiagnosed lead poisoning from lead paint / lead contamination in their water supply. It’s clear based on the way they’re talking that they should be medically evaluated ASAP
While I hate the glorification of the hood life, I have so much respect for guys like Snap Dogg. Young people only see the flash (money, jewelry, cars etc.), but not the heartache that comes with it. Thank you for being honest about what it's really like to be in the hood, and trying to be an example for the young men and woman in the community.
I didn't catch any glorification in this. I caught that these folks are telling it like it is, straight talk. BTW, Grand Nationals are not hood cars, that is a racist statement. GNs are sought after by many hot rod people of all races and are worth a lot of money stock.
@@noel8930 what makes you think him putting money into that car is not going to eventually be his way out? If you are into cars you know it takes buying parts and fixing them up over time. I am sure he didn't drop 100k all at once.
What’s crazy about this video is that you can tell by the architecture of the houses is that Detroit used to have money and a great economy. The collapse of the steel industry wrecked a lot of these midwestern cities
Sad to see my kin folk repeating the same cycle that I was apart of bacc in the 90s out here in Cali instead of breaking it and wanting better in life. I left Long Beach years ago and never looked bacc moved to the burbs and did better for myself and my fams. Hope y’all make it out. 🙏🏽
Right, don't nobody wants to continue to live in a neighborhood where you work hard for your things by working. And you have to worry about getting robbed or someone breaking in your house. Or have to worry about crime and gangbamg activity. I'm glad you made it out 🎉🎉
8:56 I really enjoyed how he managed to give his back story without getting into details (without snitching) I felt the pain in his tone...his friends really let him down
If everyone I just saw in this video decided to pool their resources, they could legit buy the hoods they lived in and make it better than "the burbs". All those buildings & "bando's" are just new hustles waiting to be exploited. Imagine you get your kids & the other kids in your hood to focus on school and the young men & women in HS to focus on law & real-estate. Within half a generation that money generated in the hood could buy up the block legally and Brothers & Sisters could have their own "burbs" how they want it and generate wealth to make your own corner stores and fund street lights. It can be done. Peace, blessings & continued success to that whole area.
🎯Peace king and appreciate those words of inspiration. Hope my people in Houston can come together because the white folks are attempting to take our historic black neighborhoods (4th Ward, 3rd Ward, 5th ward etc.)🤦🏽♂️🖤💯

@@williammorse8330 Political leadership is but a small factor in all of this. Education plays a pivotal role in the path that is paved. Hell, Henry Ford Community college is offering FREE tuition to Detroit high school graduates. I wish as kids we learned how to buy stock in these brands we advertise through fashion all day long in the streets. No matter where you are ,one thing we all agree on is take care of our kids. Make a better life than what we have.
We learn more by what we see than what were told. If people truly cared about the next generation, they would make the choice tonlive differently and show the next generation a better way. Much respect that people want kids to be better but we have to hold ourselves accountable as the older generation to show them a better way!

Good luck

I said how is that possible he said buy in bulk he getst it for way less than 30 dollars a shirt.. he said now imagine how many people brought it for 90 dollars ..once u learn the game u Learn not to play .. also I've met rich whyt people down on billionaire row in Manhattan dressed in old navy clothes ...

I came from the south side of Chicago.
I survived to get out.
I saw it change through out my lifetime.
I feel sorry for the good people who didn't live to make it out and for the good people who are still trapped there.
I wish we would have taken all the $ wasted in Afghanistan and Iraq and invested it in the worst communities in America. Imagine what kind of world we could have. Of course change wouldn't come overnight but still.
Yeah, Chicago is a different animal. I mean we got gangs in Detroit, but Chicago got gangs gangs.

@@j.baldwin3012 cartels should be the ones putting money in the hood. Who's making them rich? Drug dealers can do the same if they stop competing with one another. You don't see those rich wall street bankers doing that shit, do you? They need to learn wisdom & common sense.
Wheelchair boy got the point, "It's cheap to live here because it's so dangerous." That's how real estate determines its value. As long as they stay put there, we're good

Honestly that neighborhood looks pretty clean aside from the few abandoned houses etc!
Exactly my thoughts, lawns are cut, no trash and children on the street, hope they are safe.
There's more bandos than Occupied residence.. it's like you may see one block of houses lived in, then the next 6 blocks be damn near vacant... So I wouldn't judge the neighborhood on what you see in this video... He obviously stayed extremely close to where he was at and didn't venture out.. smart move on his part

Its not like you couldn’t live in Rosedale Park or any of the other beautiful neighborhoods and not be surrounded by hatred like you are in a place like Dallas. Out of control music across multiple genre’s and and art everywhere too. Never seen a confederate flag or a maga hat in the D. They know what would happen.
Dallas hoods no better ..watched a man get gunned down in the middle of the day while I was feeding the homeless ..night prior a 14yr killed three and injured one ..night before that house got shot up

God bless you and stay safe to everyone in the United States that lives in the hood. I used to live in Bushwick back in Brooklyn New York for 25 years, and I lived a wild life. However, I decided to change my lifestyle and now I'm pretty much into politics and become more religious, and to be a better person.
The only ones in my life that matter to me since my Mother passed, are my grown children and my grand-babies; that's my life right there.
After losing my mother a couple of years ago, it was the hardest thing ever that I've had to go through in life. When I saw that I was falling I said I had enough andI just up and left New York City and I'm doing my best to get back on top but in a positive atmosphere.
Life is a struggle, and I've been struggling since I was 6 years old, but I refuse to let anything or anyone bring me down.
I love the new me and if I can do it everybody else can do it. Some thing that I realized from living in New York City in the hood, for 25 years is "AIN'T NO ONE GONNA DO SHIT FOR YOU & PEOPLE THAT YOU THINK ARE YOUR FRIENDS, THEY ARE YOUR ENEMIES DEEP DOWN... AIN'T NO ONE REALLY GIVE A SHIT ABOUT YOU EITHER, ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THEMSELVES, THE ONE THAT HAS TO CARE ABOUT YOU, IS YA SELF" I'm an older woman yeah, but in my lifetime; I've seen things that no one should ever have to endure.
Do you know what his @is he is fine asf I seen him befoe I just don't remember where ❤
