    Perfect 👌 answered my question: Why we need an inverter when the supply power is already ac? And what a variable speed device has to do with an inverter?

    There's an error in the animation: You show the current flowing the wrong way through one of the transistors. I think what you meant was that the switch is engaged to allow current to flow down INSTEAD of through the diode that is in parallel with it the wrong way, and the current flows back up through the diode the correct way instead of the switch it is in parallel with.

    It’s important to note that these compressors vary the speed based off of load. These units must have smart equipment installed with it, it all communicates. If the load is great inside the house, the compressor will increase speed. Also there is humidity involved as well, but it’s all logic controlled by the boards. These boards from the outdoor, thermostat, relay panel, and indoor all communicate thru data wire. This data wire tells the indoor fan and outdoor compressor what speed to run at based off load (load is measured by the thermostat). Essentially, if the house is 74 and your setpoint is 72, your compressor and indoor fan will back off a bit. If it’s 78 inside and you set it to 72, you will potentially see your compressor and indoor running at full speed or close to it. There is humidity control as well that factors in I believe, correct me if I’m wrong. But to any of you who are confused on the determining factors that drive the speed, it’s the load which is communicating thru a data wire

    Finally, a clear explanation.
    It's similar to Pulse Width Modulation.
    Some manufacturer put on their comressors 100-360VDC and 40-120Hz. I would ask them to draw the graph for me, which would reflect 100VDC 100Hz.
    How a sine wave could be called a "direct current" or how the straight DC could have any frequency. As soon as DC gets any frequency, it becomes AC.

    • @solexxx8588
      @solexxx8588 5 днів тому

      It's DC still because it was rectified and flows in one direction as I understand it. AC alternates direction. Unrectified AC will not spin an inverter compressor for this reason.

    What has been the reliability of the electronics? Do you need some kind of environmental packs since they're outside in the weather? What about the compressor itself any history in terms of reliability?What would be the cost of this compressor if you had to replace it?

    Any chance I could use solar directly. 300+ volts isn’t a problem . It’s creating the frequency for speed control. I think it would be awesome to nit get involved with ac current at all .

    Thanks for the video Greg. Where can one find information about the programming of the board (specific to the Flexx) to understand the speed control and cold climate heating control for the purpose of troubleshooting operation? The service manuals are light on any helpful detail of the control strategy. Thanks!

      @@GREEComfort Thanks. My question was about how the compressor controls its speed. More details about what it's targeting, why it's ramping up, when it ramps down, how the various sensors play in to the control strategy, etc.. Need more information to support good troubleshooting. Thanks.

    • @GREEComfort
      @GREEComfort  Рік тому +2

      Some of the functionality is proprietary, but the FLEXX unit for example, has a pressure sensor (pressure transducer) that allows the unit to monitor head pressure in heating and suction pressure in cooling. This, along with the thermistor sensors in the condenser, can determine load on the system and adjust the speed of the compressor and condenser fan motor.

    I have question.
    When the room temperature reaches to a certain temperature 25 degree the inverter slows down the speed at a percentage, but much this percent of normal speed ? 10 % or less ? when the temperature goes up again to 30 degree the inverter accelerates to high speed and stay on it until the temperature goes down to 25 degree but the speed at this point rapidly deaccelerates or takes a few seconds or minutes to decelerates to reach the 10% of the normal speed ?

    So technically shouldn’t an inverter compressor technically be called a rectifier compressor?

    • @galporgy
      @galporgy 5 місяців тому

      No it’s AC (fixed Hz)-DC-AC (variable Hz). The rectifier’s DC output is inverted hence the name.
