Bill, thank you so much for the cutting. I love lemon scented geraniums and I'm impressed how strong the scent is even on the cutting. I can hardly wait for it to grow into a nature plant.
These grow all year round in your garden, aaaach so jealous...love these plants. Also have started to collect the many different flavours and types that are coming through from the growers.
So nice of you to share your pelargonium with Elona. The cuttings look very nice, and these lemon scented pelargoniums are very nice.
Such a FANTASTIC vid Bill :-) I love Pelagoniums the flowers on them are so wonderful and so varied with all of their different colors :-) thanks so much for sharing how to propagate these from cuttings, your amaryllis bloom is wonderful too :-) sending heap of love and happy growing from Ireland and have a FANTASTIC Sunday XXXXXX
I love these scented Geraniums!! My mosquito plant is getting so big this year, from a dead twig last year. Thank you for these propagating tips!! Great information! 🦋
Stacey Here we grow again you are so beautiful 😍 Stacey. Have my kids please 🙏🏼
Great video. Thank you for the information concerning not using to much rooting hormone as it could actually hamper root production. I never heard that before. Thank you.
I would have thought more is better in the beginning... funny how things work
nice thank you God bless you great video I like the white flower that you show too.
I love scented geraniums & have plenty on my windowsill in my house
I love Geraniums as they'r such cool plants
They are cool... and there are so many different types that I had no idea existed
I have the citrus scent, they love the woody type of potting soil for flowers and vegis. I get it at lowes its called sta green and geraniums love it. My plant is 2 ft by 2ft and very very bushy, not straggly. And i even have it in mostly shade. I've grown many flowers in this soil and mix in extra peat moss and my plants go nuts!
@Postman Pat yes, you have to rub or bump the leaves to get it to release its scent. Mine ended up nearly 3ft tall and 2 ft around. I took cuttings and stuck them in a seed starter, and I ended up with 6 lovely plants.
More would be great to see,and how your scented geranium been growing
Thank You for the tip about the rooting hormone
감사합니다
thanks for sharing the video. I got a Pelargoniums from florist store in March, now they are growing much bigger but no flowers yet. now it's mid of june, I passed by the same store and i saw all the Pelargoniums in the store has flowers. Is my Pelargoniums going well? thanks.
Love love your videos! Can't wait to see your garden this year! I posted a video of the home and garden show! Did you end up going?
Good time to take cuttings :)
hey mr bill, you forgot to finish the process. (firstly, that it not a little bit of water on that cutting). cutting in pot, now where do you put it? under grow light? how far from the light? using a warming mat under it? thank you
Should it sit in that tray of water (the one you put the pot in) or is that too much and you'd remove the pot from that circular tray after watering?
Btw can you grow tropical house plants in mini green houses ?
Thanks!
Hi Bill, love your video series! For this case, after successfully cutting and propagation of it in the fall, how would you help them to go through the winter? and what will you do in the next spring for their sprout?
+Monica Liao I usually keep them under lights in my grow room over winter... but there are a lot of other methods that I have not tried. I keep them on the dry side all winter inside as I don't want them to put on too much growth. when it gets warmer outside I move them out and let them adjust to the higher light in a shady spot. gradually increasing the watering. I have been getting more interested in growing pelargoniums this past fall... I will gave many more videos on them.
You should grow ivy seeds. There is boston ivy that you could do but as long as you don't have a basement or else the roots will damage your basement completely.
I'm probably gonna get a light some time this week :)
Please tell how many days after it roots ????? Thanks
Thanks for the video. BTW, the joint near the leaf is called a "Node". The water thing is called a "sprayer" or a pump sprayer in your case. Please also tell us what USDA zone you are in.
Haha
Hey bill love your videos. Btw I have a green house in my room and it's not at all warm in it, It doesn't have a light so what should I do
+Tanner Merwin I would first get a light... when you say "greenhouse" do you mean a mini greenhouse for seed starting?
Love your videos, thank you for them!
I have a random question, how do you keep pests (especially aphids) away?
+zummi mwaheed I am currently battling aphids, mealie bugs and scale.... at the moment I am using a mix of 1/2 rubbing alcohol, 1/2 water and a squirt of unscented liquid soft soap.... I mix it in a spray bottle and got to town on the plants... remember to get the undersides too...
+PlantzNThings Thanks! I will try that. :)
Are you going to hold to your commitment of working the boxwood bonsai? Would really enjoy watching how you would trim being three years without attention. Please, please!
+Tony Veltri yes I will... bonsais take time.
+PlantzNThings thanks for your response. I'm a rookie and need to remember this hobby is one of patience and focus. Thanks. Tony
Yes it's a 2 teier
What does it smell like ?
When you give it to Elona don't forget to tell her to keep it by her side when she goes outside, hopefully it is big enough to keep the mosquitoes away, anyway they grow superfast. I am going to tag you in a post on the PATWGP like you told us to, I got a white Amaryllis and I will be caring for her according to YOUR videos :) .
geranium is for mosquitoes repellent right?
Indra Yudha Kusuma yes especially the citronella geranium
Hey what’s the exact name of this geranium ?. The closest I could find is citronella and it doesn’t look like this. The leaves on the citronella are longer . Please help .
Not sure what the actual name is.... this didn't have a tag... it is certainly not a citronella.. I find that one is very harsh... this one might be a pelargonium crispum
do you have any Martha Washington geraniums? ? (regal showy?)
+Colle Gilliland not at the moment... but I love those ones... I like the dark purple with the white edge... reminds me of a gloxinia.
Are you growing Orchids in water ? Or are you using medium ?
I usually use bark and moss
@@PlantzNThings
You might want to try one.
It's not truely on water, just the very end of the root tips touch the water. I've had mine this way for several years. Not all orchid take to this way, but if you can make it work you get to see the long beautiful roots as well as the Beautiful blossoms.I will look for the web page that I followed years ago, it's very informative.
If the leaves are fragrant and the flowers are not showey, it's not a Pelargonium, it's a herb I use often (arbaroriza) but whose name I don't know in English. (google translate didn't help; it kept translating it as ginger; it's not ginger)
Next time you make burgers or meat loaf, finly chop some of it's leaves and put them in your meat mix along with whatever other herbs you're using. You'll be amazed at the taste.
I think it is a rose scented geranium. Here in Bangalore, India we intersperse few leaves in rose or chrysanthemum garlands for a splash of green as well as great scent.
hi can i ask what type of camera you use
+geraldes orchids Citroen I currently use a Nikon P7700
+PlantzNThings okay thank you
