I feel what you said about feeling invisible in a bigger body. A few years ago I lost a heck of a lot of weight and people were so kind and encouraging. Now I’ve put it all and more on and I can’t help but notice how differently people treat me. But I also wonder if that’s because I hide in plain sight now and when I lost the weight I was vibrant and happy and seeking interactions. It’s such a complex issue but when you have been smaller and bigger the difference in other people value of you is stark. Watching you feels like watching myself or a friend. I can see your value regardless of your weight and it’s huge xx

I relate so much to feeling in peoples way but invisible at the same time, it feels quite dehumanising but there are people who see us & want us to take up space and we can give ourselves permission to take up space too. Hope its not patronising to say but I’m proud of you for putting yourself out there & doing the things you want to do & advocating for yourself, because I know how hard that can be. You inspire me to want to do these things for myself more. ❤ Also I love hearing you & your mum’s stories 😂

Well done for advocating for yourself! I have an invisble disability that needs a lot of adaptations and asking for them can be so scary! It's the times we were told (or heard people say that about strangers) we are being difficult for needing them that makes it hard to ask. Normalizing that everyone has different needs is the best thing!

Dinner tonight is spinach and cheese stuffed chickens breast and French cut green beans. Love seeing Mom and hearing all your stories from the Villa Chronicles haha Good on you standing up for yourself at the restaurant and making sure you were comfortable too. You’re a step ahead of me in that I just can’t go out to dinner etc on my own. I struggle sometimes just to go do a food shop because it’s being in public and feeling seen and unseen at the same time.

Omg and I do OMG!! I was watching random videos of yours and this is the one I landed on. First, I am wearing the same exact pink cat pj top with striped pants (from SHEIN)... Second, I discovered that your bday is the same day as my deceased brothers bday (May 8th.) And, I just did the Brad Mondo's Butterfly cut yesterday!!! Coincidence.... In one video? I KNEW there were a lot of reasons I LOVE YOU so much. I may be 64 & old enough to be your mum, but you are like the sister I never had to me. 💐🌞💕🥰 P.s. my Brad Mondo butterfly haircut turned out fabulous. 😁

Totally relate to feeling awkward being a larger lady Just got back from a rare meal out, my daughter in law always like to take a photo. Having just lost 4 stone over the past year I was keen to see if there was noticeable look of my loss .Only 1 chin not 3 , but oh I hate myself still , I’m always the idiot with the daft grin or awkward twisted body . Lauren well done for speaking up & making sure your comfortable for your meal . Lovely seeing you & your mum ❤

19:00 Lauren I’ve been following you for a long time now and I’ve seen your journey right from the start. You’re such a beautiful person inside and out. I’ve also gone from losing a lot of weight to now being back at my heaviest. It’s not all about numbers on a scale but I’m just so miserable and my social anxiety is sky high. I even analyse people I’m driving past to see if they’re looking at me. 😢I don’t go to public places such as restaurants unless i see the seating plan 😢 I totally understand everything that you’re saying and I’m so proud at you standing up for your body type ❤

I remember when we went to a restaurant for our anniversary and the place was packed they tried to sit us in a booth when we specifically asked for a table their booths are narrow and bolted to the floor so u cant move the table towards one side . I tried to get in and got stuck… i almost bursted in tears… girl im so happy you said something to them ❤

I felt that when you said you feel like you're "in everyone's way, yet invisible", but also about wanting to sit alone anyway. As someone who doesn't particularly like children though, I find that the little horrors always try to sit next to me- my hostile, go-away vibes fail me! 😂 Oh, & curry, salad chocolate protein yoghurt ❤
Made it to the end lol. But watched in two parts. No idea as i'm going to my son and D Not In Law for dinner. She makes a lot of Chilean concoctions. Try some Evening Primrose Oil Capsules for your PMS. Helps with skin also.Hope you are feeling brighter.

Vaseline works well for removing stained hair dye. Or just gentle scrubbing I find helps. I had dumplings and wonton soup for dinner.

Ok, so for dinner I had pasta with chopped spring onions and tomatoes, and a dollop of pesto sauce (love that stuff...I could eat it with a spoon from the jar!) Your mum is so....vibrant! I just wanted to say as well, that the eye contact woman at V&A probably empowered you and you took that vibe to the Ramen place when you asked to move seats. Good for you - can't wait to see your hair. Hope you are starting to feel a bit better over the next couple of days! :)

I watched your video before passing out asleep last night, & I can’t even begin to tell you how much I laughed, cried, & I think I nodded my head so much I woke up with a stiff (!) neck (missus!)
I’m just going to outright sound like an internet weirdo (hi, my name is Laura, your friendly internet weirdo, nice to meet you!) but in all the years I’ve watched UA-camrs (it’s.. a lot, yes, you remind me of old school UA-camrs, DON’T EVER CHANGE!!) I have *ever* ‘met’ anyone I have ever related to so much. That’s exactly why I’m sitting here at 5:21am wiping sleepy dust out of my eyes determined to write a comment because you were the first person I thought of when I woke up (my god, I’m really sounding dodgy now aren’t I 🤦🏼♀️).
Firstly, thank you for being vulnerable. Truly. I know it isn’t easy. Completely understand it’s easy to put a mask on. I did too, for so many years, & then I had a huge MH breakdown, just wham! out of nowhere. I had 2 jobs, long term partner, social life, ‘friends’ (heheh, term used loosely), lost it all. Spent 4 years with agoraphobia, generalised anxiety disorder, Blabla. I’m not telling you for sympathy, but something my MH team often told me back then was ‘you’re so used to putting a front on aren’t you?’ because I’d crack jokes - how else am I meant to be?!
I’ve been big since I was 9, & it was just easier to be the fun one. If I showed weakness it meant those passing comments saw a vulnerability & attacked. I’d get upset behind closed doors instead.
Related to you so much about the restaurant situation, I’ve literally sat miserable & come away with bruises on my thighs by sitting in those ridiculously tiny chairs with arms. I was young, & didn’t want to cause a fuss. I actually just don’t eat out now & that’s a bit sad isn’t it?! I’m so proud of you for advocating for yourself Lauren, keep doing it. You’re entitled to be comfortable & have just as much right to have an enjoyable meal as everyone else.
🥹🥹 that moment at the v&a museum. I felt that. People underestimate the power of eye contact don’t they? I think I avoid it as I struggle with confidence & self esteem, & when a moment like that happens, it really sticks with us.
Oh my god, I don’t know why it made me laugh, but I just got finished watching the Christmas episode where you stayed over at your mums & she had her leaky tap fixed, & now she has fancy taps! We’ve come so far 😂💗
