Hope this helps Lauren:
Turn off and unplug your washing machine.
Locate your machine’s filter and remove it.
Soak the filter in warm soapy water for 10 minutes.
Scrub the filter with a soft-bristled brush.
Check the filter area for any remaining lint and wipe with a damp cloth.
If the filter cannot be removed, clean it out with a brush.
Some filters are disposable, so instead of cleaning them you can just throw them away and put a new one in place.
Return the clean filter to the machine.

Agree with you about people who talk about how 'generous' they are - good qualities should be self evident so stressing then is always suspect. .... My granny had an old saying, 'The more he spoke of his honour, the faster we hid the silverware'.

It can also be a cultural thing, i feel americans are generally much more open about talking about money, maybe even talking about their "generosity endeavours" etc. British ppl are usually much more closed up about things like that and are afraid of coming off as anything less than humble/not boasting! Just another possibility in case he wasnt as bad as he seems...

As a man , I'd have paid on the first date. Yes, I know it's 2023. However, I was raised that as the man you treat the woman, especially on a first date. Later on you treat each other, but on a first date the man treats the woman. Ill probably get called a sexist pig now 😂😅 you had a lucky escape! Noone needs a tight ass.
Yeah..i feel the same way but also feel the woman should offer to at least pay a half and be really thankful if the man treats her
As a woman I’d judge a man if he didn’t pay on first date. I’m happy to pay for dinner too when dating but the 1st date can say a lot about a man if he doesn’t take charge, it’s just decency. A real man would feel emasculated if the woman paid.

Hi Lauren, i haven’t been on a date for 16 years!! But I remember I always ate before going on first dates as drinks take less time to get through than a meal. if it was going terrible I could leave after a drink. Also the awkwardness of ordering and eating a meal in front of a new person always freaked me out 😂
I normally always do this! Especially on first dates but he threw me off!! So annoying!
I’d probably have done the same and would have been annoyed the rest of the evening. But at least the burger was good! I’m jealous 🍔 Well done for keeping trying!

Thank you for sharing yet another slice of your life! A few years back, I met a guy (come to think of it, he was also American...) at a Meet Up polyglot gathering. I didn't fancy him but figured he was nice and since he was a tourist, we went on a stroll around the city together a few days later, and then he suggested we'd go out for drinks the next evening. Drinks were nice and it was time to go home, and when we said goodbye, he grabbed my waist, pulling me closer to him and tried to kiss me. I pulled back laughing (which was, of course, a defense mechanism) and said NO while giggling. By the time I got to my car I was sick to my stomach 😢 and it was a while until I managed to shake off that nasty feeling.
I guess the guy you went out with was so self centered that he didn't even bother to read you and understand you weren't into him. Of course, there's the possibility that both those guys were shitheads 😂

I just finished this, unless there is a big spark (potential friendship or relationship) I wouldn’t eat on the first date too much expense for no return, you can move on to eat if you both agree in a good way. The payment was sus just say don’t worry I’ll pay for mine if they pull shi like that. But in the moment a decent or unsuspecting heart can fall for shi so don’t beat yourself up take it as a lesson

You’re too good for that guy and people who don’t ask any questions about you are just self obsessed you had a lucky escape you need to kiss a few frogs before you meet your prince !! He sounded like a bit of a chancer xx❤
For quite a few years now thats one of my main red flags to watch out for...Someone who doesnt ask questions means they're not interested in getting to know you - so why the hell are they even going on a date with you?!Its a huge NO from me. And it suggests the person is self-centered, maybe even a narcissist and probably isn't a very empathetic person which would be, in my opinion, one of the main traits to look for in someone if you're out there dating! Also, ppl need to be really careful with meeting ppl on those online dating apps, I watch quite a bit of true crime and the horrid stories of ppl who fall victim to psychopaths who prowl those apps...Just everyone needs to be really careful (or, in my view, ppl should preferably try to meet others LIVE in other ways/contexts...ex through friends, through activities/hobbies, through community events, etc Of course you have to be equally careful but I would think its generally safer!)

Oh Lauren!!! You poor thing but thank god for your amazing sense of humour! Sadly your crap date is very relatable… I think we all have some (or several) crap/bizarre/creepy/horrible dates in our memory bank (especially those of us who dated in our 30s onwards - when the dating pool is getting pretty grim) 😅❤ Nothing worse than a crap date that has wasted your time and energy and on top of that your money (bet you wish you could send him an invoice for his burger and lemonade 😂) !!! You deserve to date only the best… people who are worthy of your presence and attention! ❤️ Wishing you only fun and engaging dates ahead with people with fully charged phones 😂 Lots of love to you from Australia xx

I would have been a people pleaser as well, id have paid for the bill without question. I think its really the only thing you could have done in that situation. I would have been too embarrassed to enquire about other payment options. Its only afterwards when you start questioning things.
Me too ... only thing you could have done Lauren. I hate it when i question n get angry at myself after a situation or think I should have said x y z!! People pleasing but also i thiink its to not make the situation awkward and any more uncomfortable for ourselves!

Hey girl! For the hair, I can relate. Mine is very long to my waist, and gets everywhere. In the wash Ive found theres nothing really I can do, aside from inspecting the clothes for hairs before putting it in the washer. But i still pull hair off afterwards so theres that.
For the fuzzies, try washing the clothes inside out. I find it helps with that. And just try not to was any sweaters or towels on the same load as "regular" clothes if possible. Good luck!
Even if his phone had died then you go on a date prepared. And if he talks about being generous then you know for sure that he’s a miser! He left you in an awkward position and doesn’t deserve any nice dates. Just put it down to experience. You were the better person ! xx

My husband still thinks it's hilarious when we wake up and I sing "Let's guess the weathaaa let's guessss the weathaaaaa" in my best British accent!!! 😅 Also, when you say "voucher" that is the same thing as a "coupon", yes? I was befuddled for a minute and then I was like ohhhh! I bet that's what it is!!! I rage cut my hair off in the middle of the night in March and it's just now long enough to where I can put it on the top of my head. I immediately regretted cutting it so short that I couldn't pull it up!!! Better now, though. And it was always a trigger for me on dates on in any situation where anyone would talk themselves up. Like, if you're great, I'll figure it out on my own, thanks! My husband never talked himself up when we first got together, I think that's why I fell for him so fast!!!

Haven't finished the video yet but with the hair in the clothes washing,
I try to hang my clothes outside when possible I don't know if you can.
Also you can get these sticky round things that go in the wash and they collect lint/hair/pet hair etc. The ones I got have a paw print on them.just google pet hair remover for laundry.
I also shed like a beast and the husband finds my hair everywhere hahah. And I try to vacuum more but that's a struggle too.

Why do I get the feeling he’s used that trick before? I would have simply said “Oh no worries, let’s just stick with a second drink. I’ve got leftovers at home.” That’s only if I was not getting amazing vibes. If I felt in my gut it was genuine and we would be seeing each other again so he could return the favour, no problem. But if your gut was questioning it, play the game and get out 😂 xx

So about the burger, I probably would have done the same. I don’t even know if it’s a people pleasing thing (although I do suffer from the condition), but I just hate awkward moments. Also, it comes so sudden that you don’t even have time to think. That’s really annoying, but don’t beat yourself up. I guess this shows who the truly generous person is 😆 Also, I call that “I’m generous” thing the humble brag. It’s pretty irritating.

If there isn't any flirtation at all and the vibes aren't good I'd probably have said; "great so maybe let's call it a night then. Let's maybe split dinner another time" (fully thinking there ain't gonna be another time LOL). Don't be so hard on yourself Lauren! In the moment dodging a kiss like that can really be difficult if you aren't at all expecting it - and that is more of a fail on his part! To misread you and the date like that, not a good look to go in for a kiss if it's AT ALL questionable to do so. Good for you for putting yourself out there though, at least you got the 10/10 burger out of it LOL

They sell marmite peanut butter in most of the UK supermarkets. It is Marmite brand and looks similar to a regular jar of marmite. Just google it.
