Oh my! I have over 60 file folders containing images stored in folders named according to category; i.e., Boxes, Cellphones, Christmas, String Puppets and so on. I have only saved about five files with notes to see what I did as far as speed/power as per your video on 10 Tips.... I wish I had paid attention to your tutorial first thing before I did anything else! OMG, this will take a year off my life.
Always love your videos! I am just getting started in both CNC and laser (CO2 and Fiber) and am always struggling to figure out how to organize and file my designs that I make myself or those I bought online. Several questions...1) Do you manage all of your laser files in Lightburn or do you also have them organized on your computer, and 2) Are there some files that work better on CO2 or fiber or are they pretty interchangable? If interchangable, I guess there would be no reason to try to organize them a certain way in Lightburn. Now all I need to figure out is how to organize files that can be used on only CNC or laser or on both...it is becoming a nightmare with all of my files. Thanks.
All files that are lightburn should not be stored in lightburn. Make them stand alone files. My file folder system is Laser>customer orders>Name. Or Fiber laser>customer orders>Name, or pattern Downloads> Christmas> snow flakes. The Cnc files cannot be used with other stuff unless it’s svg format.
Okay, I made a new subfolder under Makerspace "Art Library" on my Desktop. I added two new folders to the Art Library (1) Boxes (2) Puppets and imported graphic files under each Category. It took me a bit but I did it. Can I copy this Art Library folder to my flash drive and access them when I am at Makerspace using their machine? Or do I have to set up a second Art Library while there?
Thanks so much for this video! I am so excited to use this option. It'll make things so much quicker! Is there a limit to the number of items/designs you can add to a folder or indeed a limit overall that you can add?
Thank you so much for this video. This will definitely help me get better organized. Is there a way to print a preview of what is in your library? That would be extremely helpful to have it to show customers.
Im new to the whole laser business and also lightburn. Just wondering where did you get the images from to then get then store them on lightburn? Thank you Love your videos😊
Does it save position too? I have many template files that have indexing points to specific points on the bed to register to points on a product or jig.
I don’t believe it will save positioning. When you drag it out of the library it goes where you place it. Good question for the LightBurn forums in case I’m missing something. Thanks for watching
Hello, I have a library called 'Mom-Day.lbart' but, I'm not getting to import it into the folder created by the New tab. My version of LightBurn is 1.1.03 and in the Import tab, in the window that opens, between the various extensions, the extension 'lbart' does not appear.
Hi. I'm new to the laser world. Just bought mine and awaiting it's arrival. I've been doing all kinds of digging. So How do you get all the different graphics to begin with? I haven't bought laserburn yet waiting to my unit gets here to play with the free trial, does it have preloaded graphics you can use? If not how do you get graphics to work with.
You have to upload the graphics you have or do it as you add them. The tool in lightburn comes with no graphics. It very handy once you get it populated
I'm new with Lightburn. I understand the design you are putting on screen, im not understanding "where" the design is downloading from? Are you exporting or downloading from Google or where are these design coming from to put into the art library? I'm so lost.
You need to generate a folder on your computer fist. Place it in a safe locations and remember where you generated it. When you select the new button in the art library drive to the location of the new file and start generating file sub folders for your library.
@@computercreationz Thanks…but the new 10.01 version of Lightburn, already had an update and still does not do it for me…click new and….it does nothing, no opening a new tab…no nothing! Lol, I have my own collection of folders and content …I will go my way!
svg it best, but you can import a png(image with transparent background) and engrave as well. svg is a vector and png is an image two different file types that have different uses. thank you for your comment
drag it out by the title bar, make the dialog box as small as you can make it. drag over t your right when the background turns grayish blue let it go!
Awesome video but my art library doesn’t show down in the right corner it shows up as a pop up I guess you would call it. I’m not sure how to have it listed next to laser and Libary bar
I'm trying to follow your steps to set up my art library but having issues. When I click on it under the Window tab it opens a window, Art Library. I have to drag it to the right to get it to show as one of the tabs to the right. When I then try to create folders to put the art in I can't find the Art Library on my computer to be able to store the images. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Can you help?
creat your new file folder first and remember where it’s located. this was a struggling point for me too. Then when your in the art library choose new goto your new folder and follow the video from there.
New to the laser thing and appreciate your content. You stated that when you import an image to the lightburn art library it should be the size you want it to be. What program do you use to create/modify images before adding it to your library?
shrink the dialog box as small as it will go and them grab the top of the header on the dialog box and hover it over the top or bottom side area you want to put it in. when the background turns blue let it go and it will be docked
Just use the Load and Unload buttons for visibility. if you select a library name and select the unload button it doesn't erase it just removes it from the tool. If you want to see that library again select the load button and got to the file with all the library's put a check mark to the left of it and it will show back up in lightburn. This way you can keep you Library clean and only look at what you want. You can also have as many different main library's as you want.
In a safe spot on the cloud or your hard drive generate a new folder “ LightBurn Art Library” . Remember where that folder is and that’s where the video instruction starts. This part always confuses people. Including me before I figured it out.
Thank you so much. You are so professional. I am new to this. I would like to ask for a favor please before holiday. I hope you would like to gift us your Art Library file please please.
Good video but you skipped over the part about creating the main initial folder. Also you might want to mention that sometimes when you go to add a new category that you have to show LightBurn where the master file is otherwise it will just create it in the last file you opened or imported from. That was very frustrating to me when I was looking for my library again
Hi Southbay, I didn't skip, it you just missed it. At 3:20 of the video I mention that you need to generate a main file folder before you get started with the creation of the sub folders(Librarys). I appreciate your input and have a great day!
