Rod Stewart was the lead singer in Jeff Beck's band after he left The Yardbirds. The Jeff Beck Group's Truth album is an essential bible for any guitarist. It's considered a seminal work of heavy metal music. Check out Ain't Superstitious, Let Me Love You, and their fantastic cover of Old Man River. Amazing stuff!
❤Rod Stewart has sold 120 million records so most people love his voice and Jeff Beck ranks 5th on Rolling Stones 100 Greatest Guitarist Of All Time so this is an epic paring of talent
Thanks for reacting to this beautiful song by Jeff Beck & Rod Stewart. Truly a classic song by 2 legends. They had been friends since the late 6o's. What's sad is that Jeff Beck passed away on Rod Stewart's Birthday. R.I.P Jeff Beck❤❤
The Jeff Beck Group formed in early 1967 with Rod Stewart as their lead vocalist. They've been close as friends and musicians since. You might want to give a listen to Rod's EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY (with Faces [Rod Stewart and Ron Woods, who later joined the Stones, both came out of Jeff Beck Group to form Faces]), and ATLANTIC CROSSING albums for a better idea of his progress/arc as a vocalist. Jeff's solo albums and his 3(4?) nights in concert at Ronnie Scott's give a fine picture of Jeff's journey. These two came out of the same cauldron.
I love Rod Stewart's earlier music like Mandolin Wind, Maggie May, pretty much anything from when he and Ronnie Wood were with The Faces. Jeff Beck is also phenomenal. Check out a piece he did with Donovan called Barabajaggle! Don't know if I spelled that correctly!
Though Rod Stewart is, of course, a soulful rocker, at heart he's really a song interpreter. This song is a fine example of that. And Jeff Beck's guitar work here is equally stunning.
Beck was an amazing guitarist--always embraced an exuberance for that instrument. His albums are mainly instrumental and transcend a lot of different genres of music. He has a long celebrated history going back to the Yardbirds. He and Rod were in the Faces together, back in the day. Have been friends forever. This was a lovely pairing for this piece--not rock actually--as you can tell listening to the lyric.
I think you would like the original by the Impressions a little lighter on guitar and more emphasis on the vocal harmonies, their music was not only inspirational but a few of their songs were civil rights anthems like "We're a Winner" & "Keep on Pushing" also good are "I'm so Proud" "It's Alright" "I'm the One Who Loves You" & "Gypsy Woman"
I have been trying to get someone to react to Rod's version of Broken Arrow with the official video. It is one of my favorites of his covers and so beautiful! You really see his personality!
Rod sanf for the Jeff Beck Group (Ronnie Wood of the Stones on bass). Worth checking out. IMO - Jeff is the best guitarist of his generation. Never settled, always tried new genres.
This song is one of my top 5 favs by Rod. You should hear "Take a Pebble" and "Knife Edge" by ELP. Prog, but not their crazy out of control prog.😂Have fun❤

Two instruments: Jeff's guitar and Rod's voice = perfection.

There will never be another Jeff Beck 🎸🎶 I was so sad when he passed away 💔 He was a guitar virtuoso! Nobody plays like Jeff 🥰 His tone 🔥
Agreed

Rod does this so well. Love him and seen him at least 6 times over the . Great to see him and Jeff together again. Great choice!
Bon Jovi said that Jeff Beck was the Greatest Guitarist. I agree! Miss Jeff!

Legends! Great version of this song and have always loved Rod's voice.
Love this song , the message , and the performers. RIP Jeff.
Oh Dear Lord, I LOVE this video. Rest in Peace Jeff Beck.

Thank you. Love this song
Two old pals who started out in the music business together creating magic again.
Jeff and Rod were in the band Faces in the mid 60s but drifted apart. They came back together in this video
Rock & Roll Gospel...Beck was said to have an ethereal way of guitar playing...Stellar...absolutely stellar ❤
Love this song and this colab so much 💚🎶🎵

Rod REALLY does have a way of interpreting a song. So soulful.
Rod Stewart is a freaking legend and this is exactly how a guitar should sound......DAMN

I really love their version of this song! Thanks
Such a wonderful combination! Thanks for this Sal.
This song makes me so emotional every time 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼 awesome reaction ❤️🙏🏼
A great song!!❤❤
Like the song, Rod Stewart's voice goes well with Jeff Beck's guitar playing!
Rod Stewart started with Jeff Back way back in the beginning with the Jeff Beck band before he went solo. You should check out Rod’s younger stuff.
You might want to check out Jeff's "Cause We've Ended as Lovers" live at Ronnie Scott's. Stellar performances by all.
Oh YES…..that’s a great performance! Scott, if you read this….how would you feel about putting that request in?
YES, definitely!
Such a great song, no matter who does it.
Two pros at the top of their game. So rich
Was a kid in the 80's when this came out. Thanks for this reaction

@Slavogofficial The group “the impressions.“ Curtis Mayfield singing people get ready try it out see how well it fits.
Of the Big Three, Clapton, Page, and Beck, I always go with Jeff.

The only guitarist that frustrated Jimi Hendrix, per mutual friend Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top.

Maybe Rods on vocals😂😂
What else would he be doing right?! 🤣 mentally after I said that I was like REALLY DUDE. 😂😂
You need to Josh Turner. Your jaw will drop when his voice starts. The song is Long Black Train .
Please do Sailing!!!!! ❤️🎶❤️🎵❤️🎶❤️🎵❤️🎶❤️🎵❤️🎶❤️
I far prefer their collaboration on Jeff Beck’s Ain’t Superstitious.
I prefer the original song by The Impressions. Yes, listen to the original...a COMPLETLY different vibe.
Good original. And I like the Chambers Brothers version even more. Apparently, this song has a LOT of covers!
I thought you were a rock girl, I love classic soul & R&B, but I figured his Patreon's would like this better.
@@MrCome4numb I'm not a Rod Stewart girl. 😄
@@SK-lk3iu It does! I like Seal's version, if you've never heard that one. I don't think I've heard the Chambers Brothers' version.
Another banger! Thank you for this classic SalvoG.
