@@kykittykat2435 Though I'm sure he misses his brothers, my point was, I don't think Barry's lonely per se. He has lots of family right there in Miami Beach!🥰
This might be my favorite Bee Gees song. It's very symbolic not only because it was their last hit but because the video shows various clips of them as kids and when they were starting out. It's almost as if they knew. It puts a big lump in my throat. I love Robin's solo so much, I never got enough of Robin's voice. You might want to see the Bee Gees 2020 HBO documentary "Bee Gees: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" narrated by Barry Gibb.
It's amazing that they were still making songs as great as this 30 years after Massachusetts and New York Mining Disaster. Robin is particularly good at the emotion and vulnerability.
Love So Right, Jive Talkin, Tradgedy, Words, Guilty (duet with Barbra Streisand), Fanny Be Tender With My Love, New York Mining Disaster, For Whom The Bell Tolls, just a few of my personal favorites that can help you continue with your journey into the BeeGees.
I think I heard that fourth Bee Gee...Salvo(Bee)G...singing a little backup on this truly wonderful track.😉❤ Excellent comment about their ability--as a group--to convey vulnerability and longing through their voice(s). So, so true.
The sad irony is that Barry Gibb stands Alone. . This was a delightful journey back in time. This song was something of a surprise hit given the lull that commercial lull that followed their previous 2 albums.
This IS the first time I heard this song. Incredibly. These brothers are in a class of their own. No one even comes close to their talents. RIP Maurice and Robin. 💔💔
I wasn't familiar with this one, but it was nice to hear Robin's voice out front again & it has a nostalgic feel with those home movie clips in the video.
i was blessed enough to see them at the MGM grand in Vegas for their ''One Night Only '' concert in 97, A 5:575:596:00 christmas gift from my husband .They were amazing. Along with a few of their special guestzs❤
I have been a Bee Gees fan all my life. Even when it wasn’t “Cool” to be one. I know just about all their music and have had the fortune to see them perform live. I just wanted to thank you for your reviews of their music. Listening to the songs and experiencing them through your honest and insightful reactions has become a huge highlight for me. Thank you Thank you Thank you. I look forward to your next reaction of them!!!!
I agree with everything you said. This is one of my favorite Bee Gees songs. Thank you for your reaction! Kiss Of Life is another one you will love, I promise!
Not to mention the other great songs they have also written for other artists like Diana Ross, Barbra Streisand, Dionne Warwick & Celine Dion as you`ve mentioned. Just to name a few.
Beautiful song and HARMONIES!! You nailed it with your assessment of the Bee Gees. I felt sad watching the video and the flashbacks to them as kids and their early days as a group. Only Barry remains. I can't even imagine what he's gone through with the untimely losses of his brothers, including Andy. I'm also sad for us because there are no more rich, beautiful, emotional songs from them.
I love the Bee Gees! So many great songs over the decades. This song is so good. Seeing their old family videos is fun. There is no might about it. They were the absolute top of the line best.
i've listened to this song so so many times...I just love it so much...makes me smile each time...they are just too good...i'm turning on my granddaughter to their music...at first she resisted now she's borrowing my cds...i've done my job
Oh, I hope you react to "Tragedy" by the Bee Gees sometime. It was one of my favorite disco era dance songs! And Robin Gibb also did a solo album in the 1980s with a single, "Boys Do Fall in Love".... a really nice 80s dance song.
SalvoG- You are someone who understands the amazing qualities of the Bee Gees. This may have been their last charting single, but it was one of their very best, with Barry's terrific falsetto and Robin's amazing solos! When I hear this song's lyrics ("...and I don't want to be ALONE"), I always think about how not that long after the song, Barry lost Maurice, and then later lost Robin...and he was ALONE😥
Another thing to remember, Salvo - is that after writing any song, after a few goes at getting their melody and voice blending correct . . . they could then do it time and time again without error, not missing a beat, and always joining in sync whenever and wherever it was needed - even without having a song sheet stuck in front of them to help out . . . excellent memories is also what made them so outstanding as a trio . . .
I believe I heard they wrote 1,000 songs. So you've got lots to look forward to. Many, many fantastic tunes ahead. Bee Gees are definitely The Best ❤❤❤
Their last released single "This is where I came in" was in 2001, two years before Mo died. It's a "must". The video is autobiographical if you pay attention.
He should do “The Making of This is where I came in” first… it will explain the video. Then do the song video afterwards. Also, there is a great live version when they were on the German TV show that’s fantastic too!
I hope it won't be too long. You are by far my favorite reactor when it comes to the beegees. I love your heart. You give honest and emotional reactions which are always the best.
