@@Unbrickme 1977. I am a very old kid now:) I think i have all the parts. I used to love making GIANT Monster Trucks and stuff for my Mini-Figures out of those enormous wheels and tires. I still have the original box.
I remember that and I had a few of those sets! Still have them, actually! 948 [aka 854] Go-Kart and 956 [aka 853] Car Chassis were the 2 I remember very well that I had, plus the super cool looking [to me anyway] 8845 Dune Buggy!

The Senna is an unusual car with unusual curves and angles which translates strangely in Lego form, it's not perfect and it's certainly difficult to put all the details in Lego at this scale, don't know if it would look better if it was "full size" like the other Technic cars we've seen lately, anyway, it's a cool enough as a Lego set. Cool review, Jang!
As I was building this there was a piece missing so I’m currently trying to find it
I don't mind the livery they decided to go with, what bothers me however is the lack of a diff

Not very familiar with the real car, but comparing this to the photos of it, I kinda like this Technic rendition of it more. It has more of an older feel to it overall, with shorter gap between the wheel axis, taller roof/cockpit section and thicker tires.
Senna's most memorable object- his helmet with the brazilian colors on it, should come together...

I love Technic but that theme has always been too difficult to build any set for myself
Its the heaviest and higher piece count of the the jeep and zr1...you brought up a good point, Im going to compare all 3 parts list to see which pieces the mclaren has more of to get those higher numbers

I really wish it included a differential. But I think besides that it’s a pretty good car and it looks very good for just $50

Hmm the blue color kind of hides the blue technic pins that usually contrast so much so maybe it’s not so bad 🤷♂️

Blue is my favorite color for a car so I am happy they chose blue. I guess it's all down to personal preference. I am probably in the minority on car colors as I don't like the orange and green ones.

as a big fan of Technic cars (but not so much actual cars), yeah I was kinda disappointed with this set. it did some really interesting stuff with the build (highly recommend finding a good build video of it), but I don't really like the way the end product looks. I didn't apply the stickers though, so I was quite happy to just take it apart and use the parts in my own MOCs (which are quite Technic-heavy)
Is it me or did LEGO mess up the sticker placement in the building instructions? I think the sticker pairs 7/14 and 16/17 should be swapped. If you follow the instructions, the hexagonal pattern beneath the doors is interrupted. Also the placement on the sticker sheet implies that stickers 14/15 and 6/7 belong together.

What’s the top speed of this set? I managed to get it to ~15mph by throwing it but if you got a trebuchet or a cannon I’m assuming you could get a much higher top speed
Well if you put it inside the real car then it would supposedly have the same top speed as the real one if you threw it out the window for example.
What’s the senna gtr scale?
At my store where I bought this set I paid 79 dollars for this set because that was the price for that set

Yes it does. It's just a bit long and needs a flatter ramp (which is no problem).
I got it and it does. It's a little longer than Corvette, but fits fine.

I think they should put those cars back in the Lego Racers series. Just because they use Technic Pieces doesn't automatically makes it a Technic Set 😉
Same with the Super Cars, just expensive Display Models, not that many functions.

Strange design of the car, it’s mad! The rear of this model looks a little blocky and square. Is the nose a little long? I don’t mind it and the price for the amount of stuffs is more than good.

I just don't understand the appeal for technic vehicles. They all look incomplete and speed champs is definitely a better looking model. And can someone clarify for me why we can see the pistons moving. Where r the heads?

Ducati or mclaren?
I "modded" mine to make it right hand drive. It irritates me when lego make right hand drive cars left hand drive. Jaguar I pace last year for example. THE CAR WAS BUILT IN BIRMINGHAM for petes sake

$50 is really cheap tbh. Not sure what the car it's based on looks like, but I think the grey pieces on the front, especially the side pieces, would have looked better in the same blue as the wheel arch pieces, because it looks a bit of a mess at the front.
doesnt look/Represent Senna that much if you ask me.
Personally, I think the model looks awful ☹️. Not fond of the livery either.
