- In this short video I give a detailed over view of every step required to re-grip a putter grip (removal of an OEM Odyssey super-stroke putter grip and replace with a Golf Pride Tour SNSR Contour Putting Grip). The video covers:
* What tools to use
* How to safely cut off an OEM Odyssey super-stroke putter grip (including counter weight removal from the putter grip butt)
* How to safely remove all the old grip tape from the putter shaft
* How to clean the putter shaft ready for the new putter grip
* How to apply, properly, the golf grip double sided tape
* How to install the new Golf Pride Tour SNSR Contour Putting Grip
* How to align the new putter grip so thats its square to the target line.
A well-done explanation of the whole process. A hook blade cutter makes short work of removing old grips. Heating up the old tape with a hair dryer softens the tape and makes it much easier to peel off in most cases. A bench vise and a rubber clamp to secure the shaft makes the alignment process much cleaner.
Googled how to regrip my putter and you came out top mate!
Have to bring it round to you if I have trouble. 😂
spirit level is a great tip, thank you
Thanks. I'm new at this new grip thing so your video will help a lot.
The level is the key. I've got three putters I have to regrip because they're off just a hair. But then, maybe that will help my putting,.
Use a heat gun to heat the tape and then peel it off really easy, no chance of damage (and critical for graphite shafts)
Just heat the grips,? And pull off? I was gonna boil a big pot of water
@@Wileycoyoteee no, to remove the tape
Do you think a pot of boiling water would loosen the tape up?
going to use me cloths hanger to take my putter grip off they like 30 dollars cost to much to just throw away in case i want to put it back on cause new grip didnt work like i thought it would work
He had done this “hundreds, - if not thousands - of times before”? Hmmm, that was some battle with the old grip and tape...😳🤣😂🤣
ooo no!! mate use a heat gun or blow torch it will fall off.
let me give you one of my tricks to put a putter grip on....use your phone it will line the grip on perfect not 1 degree one way are the other perfect these phones is awesome..1 degree off you will miss putts all day long over like 8 feet..my new putter is off from factory even it says 34 inches its not even 331\2 inches long from factory.no man eye ball can't put a grip on there perfect dont matter you done thousands of grips one degree off will cause you miss putts
How do you use your phone?
What are you talking about? You mention the line up and then are talking about length of the shaft. How exactly do you use your phone?
