The only reason I started watching this channel for the Peterbilt when he started building it seems like a cool guy I'm just not into the racing stuff really maybe if you get to pull in truck we kind of cool
Nicely done. Been a long time since I was behind the wheel of one, used to haul hog fuel to paper mills 105,500 pounds at a time. This made me miss it, if for only a second or two. Having the stick that tall would drive me crazy though.
Nicely done Greg! Sliding the 5th wheel forward or back mostly impacts the weight on the steer axle. Move it back to take weight off the steer, move it forward to increase weight on the steer. However doesn't look like yours can slide very much. At 80,000lbs, with your limited 5th wheel slides, you might see 500-1000lbs difference (just guessing) on your steer tires.
With a long nose Pete typically your battle is to try and get as much weight forward to maximize what you can haul. Good video nice to see your honest that your learning and not some dork. Lol.
Dang! Sawyer sure has moved around! From motocross, to pressure spraying, to logan aluminum and now farming! Big tymer. Ask him about the good ol days racing karts up at darins house. Small small world
Add some blinkers lights under the side mirrors. It helps to see better for people are next to you or in a blind spot even at turn lights. Cool feature Semi truck drivers that put them on.
So very true. I was a diesel and heavy equipment mechanic for 15 years. I've been trucking for 13 years, now. Very true. You can't get good at something until you DO something. Good luck!
New to the channel, dude. The balance of the chrome and black on that truck is PERFECT. The painted visor even the painted roof light shells with all clear lenses. All about it. Simple. Clean. Fantastic.
That was awesome!! I'm so proud of how well the Peterbilt handled and how well you did on your first big haul. I've followed you and the Pete through the entire restoration from the day you first bought her. It was so exciting seeing her do the job she was created for. You should be proud as well. Great job!
Man, that truck looks and sounds sweet with a trailer on it going down the road.. would not change anything on her. You'll find that 18 speed transmission is probably the best transmission out there
I haven't watched a lot of your channel, but I mat go back and watch some after this video. Good for you, putting a bunch of work behind something you want to do. You didn't make your truck the way I would have, and that's great - it's yours, and you are the one who will drive it, so don't worry about what anyone thinks about it. I hope you have many happy miles in it!
I'm so glad to see someone that is supportive of the way that he did his truck. It's just irritating to have someone bad mouthing another man's truck, bird dog, motorcycle or car.
You definitely want the fifth wheel in-between the drives, makes for a smoother ride. Could use some greaee on the fifth wheel. Only way to learn is by doing, at least in my experience driving these trucks.
I work on this stuff every day so kinda cool to watch you now do some trucking. Dad had a orange Pete that was pretty close to this and that’s how I fell in love with this stuff.
Definitely need to cut the stacks more, that will cause issues at more places then just loading out of an overhead. Cut them to like 13' 2" and you'll be good to go. Love the content as I'm a driver as well.
As far as your shifting you did good! Fifthwheel plate...stretch that noise out!..all the way! Did you notice it was easier to drive when loaded? Easier to shift. Them kitty's love that heavy load! The heavier it is the better they run. Well played!
She's a beaut! I get ribbed for the 36" coffin on my 359 all the time but even at 6'2" 240, I sleep just fine on long trips. Thankfully I don't haul anything but my own equipment or that of those I know, so deadlines aren't a big deal and time and fuel are all I ask for, some help when needed is a good trade too. Good luck with her, I prefer the classic headlights, old dash of class, quilted or coffin pleated interior and minimal look of the 359 but as long as there's an 18 spd. behind a 3406B, some wheelbase and a fan or two inside, I'm happier than a puppy with two peters! Best of luck, dude!
Nice job love seeing the Peterbilt on the road and ur doing a dam good job driving the truck to and cut about a foot to two foot off the pumps and u will able to go anywhere in the Pete like I said love seeing the Pete on the road and u are doing a good job driving the truck u made the Pete look dam good and can't wait till y'all get the inside done to
More Peterbilt content! I’m a ram Cummins owner, but when my brother comes through in his 16’ 379 Fitzgerald Glider, I just gotta go for a ride. Ain’t no falling asleep when that big boy is chugging.
You did well Greg I've been hauling corn recently and the truck they have me in empty weighs around 35k and loaded I don't really know what I weigh but it's a boat loaded shes.. she's heavy lol but its new to me but I love it
I am a former Truckie from Aus , just hint for you bud always carry a length of air hose and tyre pumping made easy make it that it is compatible with your air coil lines same connections can air up tyres ect and push trailers if needed ....p.s. GREASE THAT TURN TABLE looks a little on the dry side ......great job by the way😎😎😎😎😎
12 gauge custom makes a nice flip kit I have one my 379 with a 22in bumper pulling hopper it’s nice to flip it up pulling in and out fields I have 4in of clearance loaded at 97k
@@TylorsAdventuresyour correct kinda. Normally you do get more power then stock when it's smoking. But not nearly as much power as if you turned it up and cleaned the smoke up. Also most mechanical engines due to the static timing will smoke under heavy acceleration initially. Im not much on cats but i think gregs is mechanical injection.
You said it can’t go to Cali and back but no worries 👍🏽 they won’t let you in anyway so it’s good for what you need and plz get a step deck for it yes!!! That’s all you need
That big CAT says, may I have another?, lol, I gotta say, that's a pretty sweet rig ya got there Greg, it almost makes me wanna get back in one, :-( , I hope your happy now that ya made me sad.
FINALLY some peterbilt content
Exactly!!
The only reason I started watching this channel for the Peterbilt when he started building it seems like a cool guy I'm just not into the racing stuff really maybe if you get to pull in truck we kind of cool
“Can’t get good at something until you’re willing to suck and learn how to do it” you heard it here, that’s the damn truth
Love that 379!
Damn it's bad ass seeing Jack here to of my main Diesel guys
Jack you better not buy it and turn it into a giveaway truck 😉
That makes me miss truckin! I’ve logged over 2 million miles, then my health sidelined me. You did a great job Greg!
Nicely done. Been a long time since I was behind the wheel of one, used to haul hog fuel to paper mills 105,500 pounds at a time. This made me miss it, if for only a second or two. Having the stick that tall would drive me crazy though.
I swear the UPS truck has been tagging along behind him with new truck parts to deliver to Greg.
It’s crazy how much better the pet looks with a real trailer smiling the hole time 👍
Pretty Pretty cool your truck helping to feed America, awesome
Your truck looks awesome
The Pete looks really good with a trailer behind it.
Congrats Greg for getting ur cherry popped on the big riggin. Grease up ur fifth wheel plate. A lil dry way looked

Fellow trucker here everything takes practice and love the truck buddy I wish mine had is the flat top and black paint looks awesome!
Truck sounds F-ing amazing! 👍 REQUESTING MORE PETERBUILT VIDEOS 🙏

I'm glad I founded your channel. have alot of respect for you, with the knowledge and skill you walk around with.
So very true. I was a diesel and heavy equipment mechanic for 15 years. I've been trucking for 13 years, now. Very true. You can't get good at something until you DO something. Good luck!
That's one badass looking Peterbilt! Looked damn nice pulling that trailer. 👏
New to the channel, dude. The balance of the chrome and black on that truck is PERFECT. The painted visor even the painted roof light shells with all clear lenses. All about it. Simple. Clean. Fantastic.
Greg’s hard as a rock lol
Truck looks and sounds awesome! 👏
Load it like a rail car, drive it like a stock car. Keep up the great work man and congrats on taking that step to hauling something with your truck.

Big baller grain hauler! You experienced what I do on the daily gotta love it
Man, that truck looks and sounds sweet with a trailer on it going down the road.. would not change anything on her. You'll find that 18 speed transmission is probably the best transmission out there
Now that's a fifth wheel cover good job glad to see old truck working

The Peterbilt look so awesome on the road so cool watching the rolling shots
Nothing against the music but I love the music the Cat was playing out of those 8 inch pipes. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there.
Your right. Stretch your horizons to get better at anything. Awesome job.👍🏽👍🏽
This was great. Keep on truckin you'll get more confident. I used to drive for a living and you looked great.
“Can’t get good at something until you’re willing to suck and learn how to do it” New T-Shirt and Merch for the Pete coming soon!
I work on this stuff every day so kinda cool to watch you now do some trucking. Dad had a orange Pete that was pretty close to this and that’s how I fell in love with this stuff.
6:10 - 7:10 could literally put me to sleep, love me some big truck sounds
Great job. Truck looks amazing. Good job. Keep up the great work
Oh, Diamond C also makes a fifth wheel step deck if you're curious.
Damn those stacks are looking kinda goofy, love the rig other than those, need to cut them down a foot or two. Just my opinion keep up the great work!
Yeah in my opinion they are way too tall.
Those stacks make that truck i love em
when you buy your own truck you can buy short stacks nobody wants those
Watch that grass on the farmers lawn driva. Cool video and nice looking truck.
Definitely need to cut the stacks more, that will cause issues at more places then just loading out of an overhead. Cut them to like 13' 2" and you'll be good to go. Love the content as I'm a driver as well.
You did great!! Everyone starts somewhere. Truck Looks awesome!!🇨🇦👍
Love the way that rig looks !
Slide the 5th wheel all the way back. It's set for box trailer. Better ride. Not only that but will make your frame look longer.
I like what you said. Gotta be willing to be bad at something to learn and get better
As far as your shifting you did good! Fifthwheel plate...stretch that noise out!..all the way! Did you notice it was easier to drive when loaded? Easier to shift. Them kitty's love that heavy load! The heavier it is the better they run. Well played!
Trailer looks badass behind that Peter.. just imagine for just the kicks a slammed Peter with a slammed matching trailer, just for show!!
Beautiful truck sounds killer nothing like a classic pete a true work of art just absolutely love these trucks
👌🏻👌🏻 drunk coming from the bar in the Netherlands really loving the videos mate

“Tell you what sure looks good though” 🔥🔥💯👍🏽
You got the work done safely and that’s all that matters!
I’m pumped to see the Pete haul more grain, nice driving man.
When I ran distillery corn in pa we were permitted for 95000 per load since we were paid tonnage. Always loved running grain
More Peterbilt content! I’m a ram Cummins owner, but when my brother comes through in his 16’ 379 Fitzgerald Glider, I just gotta go for a ride. Ain’t no falling asleep when that big boy is chugging.

Looks so good with a hopper bottom behind it
That thing looks great. And yes you need a aluminum step deck trailer for sure for that rig
Old iron is the best iron. Nice looking Pete and best of luck to you and your rig
That truck was born to have a hopper bottom behind it🤟🏼
Love seeing tht truck😍👍🏽
I am a former Truckie from Aus , just hint for you bud always carry a length of air hose and tyre pumping made easy make it that it is compatible with your air coil lines same connections can air up tyres ect and push trailers if needed ....p.s. This is amazing I love it. But one thing GREG GET THAT THING TURNED UP OL SON you ain’t no cowboy with no smoke
smoke = less power.

Behnke enterprise makes beautiful air tilt semi trailers as well as step decks with air ramps!!!
