I am so glad I bought this advent calendar! I am not a shimmer ink fan and was so glad to see less shimmer inks. I paid full price for mine; but to me being the first year advent calendar for Colorverse, and not having so many shimmer inks in this calendar and muted inks are my favorites I think it was a good buy for me. Mine is still unopened and I've not decided if I'm going to do the advent days, open it during the Thanksgiving or Christmas breaks, or on a weekend I want to play with my inks... Love the video and not sure If I'll be buying the Diamine advent calendar, but I would definitely wait until next year to buy it if I do...

This looks like a great set for me, because I generally steer away from shimmer inks. And the Colorverse inks I have perform beautifully. But given how much ink I already have, I'd rather spend that kind of money on a new pen. Sailing Stones is the kind of legible taupe color I'm always looking for -- if that one becomes a regular offering, I may get some.
I've been doing Diamine Inkvent because I enjoy swatching, but I don't really like shimmer inks so I don't end up actually using many of them. I'm warry of Colorverse because I've had issues with them taking forever to dry, especially the super sheeners. I'm trying out Enigma's inkvent this year, hopefully that will be best for me.
No super-sheeners in this group, but there is some sheen. Which Colorverse have you had issues with? They’ve generally behaved for me, but there are SO many of them.
Thanks Mike for sharing. Like these colors a little better than the Inkvent but $180 is over budget for me. Hoping some of the more unusual colors such as Eclipse, & white hole are added to the Colorverse line.
It's a bit pricey, and since I already got the Diamine Inkvent, I have to say no to buying it. Unfortunate! Faves are Kilonova (day 6), Neptune Occulation (day 13), and Milky Way (day 19). Can you tell I like bluesy-purpley? Thanks again!
Mike, You should put out a sheet of stickers of different coloured swatches and each one should be labelled “taupe,” except for one taupe swatch that gets labelled “mauve.” Well, shoot. I did not expect to be tempted to get one of these, but I like almost so those inks sf there are none that I actively dislike. Grr. I feel the gravitational pull of all those galactic phenomena. And you don’t have to choose favourites. It’s OK to like them all. Thank you for this review. Colorverse put out an impressive and appealing set.
My vote: White Hole is so cool, I love it. #2 DaVinci Glow #3 Christmas Star (It’s such a warm beautiful deep yellow/orange) All three stuck out to me (Eclipse Silence is cool…but it looks really really dark brown to me, not black.) Only 2 or 3 that I absolutely didn’t like at all. The rest were all pretty and saturated…even those pale colors like White Hole and DaVinci Glow were very readable. I imagine a lot of those would be really interesting to paint with also (not that I can paint…)
I don't see how this is worth the asking price. It is mostly standard inks, which are usually the cheapest kind, and yet (in Europe where I live) this costs twice as much as the Diamine.
These C olorverse 15ml bottles are usually $10-15 in the USA, so the $180 price tag for the set is a significant discount. The inks are mostly not shimmers or sheens, but there are lots of people out there who don't love those inks. The Diamine one (in the USA) is $120 here, so the price difference is there, but not as drastic, it seems.
@@inkdependence Comparing the colorvent price to their own overinflated prices is not that useful. I agree that ALL colorverse inks are overpriced, so the pricing is not out of line for them, but compared to other brands, e.g. most european brands, colorverse prices are astronomical (pun intended), for no obvious reason, i.e. their inks do not have any better properties. In Europe, the Diamine Inkvent is 95 euros and the Colorvent is 190 euros, so exactly double. I understand that shimmers and sheens may not be universally liked, but they are expected to be pricier than regular inks, not the reverse. And although maybe not appropriate for every occasion, they are appropriate (or even expected) for a festive calendar. Getting a bunch of regular inks in a holiday calendar (especially after paying double the price) seems to me equivalent to getting a sweater for Christmas - although sensible, it is certainly not the gift that would make me happy.
I know. I know. I wrote "Truphae" on every card. 🤦🏼♂ I bought this from Atlas Stationers. Now I have to go and correct all of those little cards.
Ow!
I didn't even notice. Audrey did as soon as I handed her the swatch cards to look at. Doh!
That is exactly the kind of thing I do all the time. ADHD: yea!

Fun! I bet it says that on the little door on the calendar, but I wasn't reading those as as I went. :-P
White hole looks curious. The colors look nice but none "wow" me. Let us know which you vote for!

Ah! Thanks.
Love the white hole and day 24 and that brown one, oh my
I love your swatching system. Will be trying it soon. Great video.
Thanks! Glad you like it. It's what has worked well for me over the last few years.
Thx for Show all this
You bet!

I’m more excited about Colorvent than Inkvent this year! But after buying both, I’m not buying either next year!
Oh yeah? Why’s that?
I have so much ink already, and need to be ok on the fear of missing out!

Let's hope those make it to the Top 3 for Colorverse, then!

@@GPngts Totally reasonable. That's why I made a spoiler video so that folks could know what to expect if they wanted to.
Hi there! I thought it is the second or third Colorverse ink calendar🤔
If it is, then I've never heard about the others. Diamine has been doing this for years, but I don't know of any ink brands that have.
Is it me or...are these kinda boring? Except for like 2 of them...the rest are eeehhg bland
