It is a great pleasure to watch a video unspoilt with LOUD music. Your clips a worth watching. Thanks.
This was the first dirt perfect video I ever watched, probably about 4 months ago, I've been watching dirt perfect everyday now after work, I'm Shawn from northern Michigan.
Awesome glade you enjoy the channel
17:00 I truly appreciate the respect you show Jerry. Far different than the banter between you and Matt or MBTS.
I don’t think Jerry would put up with it. You don’t treat your superiors like that.
As a large vessel engineer, I wonce turned the HOT water off on the captains quarters for a week. Mainly because he Disrespected the crew. Then, I quit once in port!
Great job on draining out the pond! I’m impressed that you did it in a careful, controlled fashion, rather than just letting it fly.
Thanks 👍
My grandpa owned 3 D8 Caterpillar bulldozers. One of them he used for digging and repairing ponds and other dirt work. Two of them were used for clearing land behind loggers for a local paper mill. My brother and I had big cutting blades on our dozers that we used too cut trees and stumps that were left behind. A raking and burning crew came in behind us. An older family member did all the dirt work. I always enjoyed operating a bulldozer.
One just never appreciates how a bucket experiences these jobs, until you put a camera just above it. The perspective was totally different and really emphasized the vertical distances involved. Thanks for the unique perspective. It looks like an interesting job, can't wait for the next video. Stay safe.
thanks
Mike, thank you brother for taking the time to give us so many pov shots with your trusty go pro sir !!
Thanks
Love your work, thank you for sharing. I know it's mostly private, but some budgetary costs would be nice. Many of us would sure appreciate knowing what we might be in for. Thanks again, beautiful work.
"Just put the camera on me when I'm really working." That's about 90% of Jerry's daily hours it seems.
You got the fun part to let the water go. The camera view off of the stick of you and down to the 850 was a really good shot.
Thanks
Great quality video. Really appreciate the time you take to set up different views as well as the interesting content.
Thanks appreciate that
It would have been cool to see the turtle and fish get caught
When you start up your interview Podcasts again, please interview Jerry. I would love to here about his work background.
Agree with that!!
Yes I would love to hear that one
I agree.
Me four!
Hope you can get Jerry in a podcast, but I ain't holding my breath🤣🤣
I suspect that the lack of fish & turtles indicates a water quality problem. A good pond needs enough aquatic pond plants to keep the ammonia level down and the nutrients under control. Plus you should test the dissolved oxygen level after it is refilled. If it's too low you can add an aerator or 2. With enough of the proper plants & aeration you'll have less algae & pond scum and the fish will thrive better. If the water doesn't clear up quick enough you can add some flocculant & it will clear up fast.
I have seen ponds with literally 2 feet of water, about size of 2 kiddie pools with 8 inch fish in them. When the water is right, it is amazing how well the fish do.

I’ve seen fish bury themselves in the mud when ponds are drained. Turtles not so much.
Years ago I put lake chub in our dugout and pond, about a gallon ice cream pail full, now there’s 10’s of thousands of fish in both, lake chub will eat algae.
I’ve watched a lot of videos pertaining to ponds… this is the first one I’ve seen where the water in pond was released like that!! Kool video!!!!
Have fun and make a little money and provide a service , that’s what work should be! Not many people can have all three. Thank You for the great video!
Glad to hear the dozzer got the service it needed. It sounds and looks like (by their 'honorable' actions) those folks would be a very good choice to do buisness with. Thanks!
When it comes to running a dozer Jerry is the absolute best I've had the privilege of watching. It was a honor to work with y'all the time I did.
Thanks buddy
What childhood dreams were made of, playing in a giant Tonka Toy Backhoe with a big pond to drain. You could probably get some guy's to pay you to operate that Backhoe. What an awesome video! Cheers!
Jerry is truly a prophet. Good to see someone out there keeping your butt in line Mike. Between Jerry, MBTS and Mrs DP, you might just turn out all right son!
You and Jerry make a good team. The work has an organized flow and it runs smooth.
Thanks
Hey Mr. Dirt, Great job! You 2 make an incredible team! While Jerry is pushing mud - you can be repairing that hole Jerry found. Tomorrow's video should be interesting & dirty! Stay safe, Jim
Thanks 👍
Alot of people seesn operator and think ' hes sittin in a chair all day playing with joysticks. How is an operator tired at the end of the day' lots of mind power and thinking about your next step. Takes alot of energy. Also the jarring of when the machinr jostles you around takes energy. Keep it up man
Watching the 850j brought back a few memories. I was with the Royal Australian Engineers and was a Plant Operator within my Squadron. We had a TD15c with Roll Over Protection which was open to the elements. We had the TD15c in the process of being replaced with the 850j. When the 850j turned up at the unit I did a conversion course on it. It was luxury compared to the cab of the TD15 the only thing I had problems with for the first few times was the fact that there were no steering levers but got used to it after a time. Missed operating the TD15 though.
Awesome 😎
having been an equipment operator for 20 plus years and having worked on a few pond and earthen dams I couldn't help but notice that as you were excavating the spill way you kept putting the dirt back behind you making it a farther push for the dozer, when it would have been more expedient and efficient to just drop the dirt off to your right side and infront now with that being said I really miss my excavation days and I enjoy watching you videos ( my fortey was finish dozer) and I miss the work !!! keep putting out the videos and I will keep watching them!!!
No watch the next few videos
Thanks
Old mounds lake was built way back in the day and the grandson of the builder was telling me that those heavy mules was the ticket for packing. All of the rif raft (rocks) was all place by hand. Man that thing is still holding good
I just love you and Jerry working together, fun for me! As you mentioned many times, the differences in the work styles of DP and Let'sdig18 are very evident.
Great job running the excavator Mr Dirt Perfect
Interesting to watch the water go :) Loved that you saved what fish you could; damned decent of you.
Thanks
The fish are worth money
Jerry is like "Snoopy as Joe Cool" sittin' in that cab ... and "Drifting" without a care in the World ... amazing ... makes me smile
This was the most fascinating video I have seen you post. It was great. Cant wait to see Jerry pushing mud.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Jerry said get outta his way he's got this lol.
Nice job and glad Jerry didn’t get hurt going through that hole
What a blessing to own all that land.
Wow - Dirt Drifting the 850 & good that Jerry didn't break any bones in the dam hole.
Love this one since I used to run a 977 crawler loader and built landfills.
This is UA-cam gold.. Durham England watching and can't wait.
Jerry is really starting to come out of his shell on camera.
Mike. Thanks for all the effort you put in to the videos.
Glad you like them!
Yeah boys !!!!! Can't wait to play in the mud tomorrow !!!!!
I watch your videos because I'm doing the same as you most days, a bit of everything to do with machinery and relocating earth in one form or another! It never gets boring. I like seeing different techniques and the different attachments. You guys use stuff and have attachments we don't use here in Australia, and vice versa. Very interesting.
Thanks
Don't stop Jerry! He knows what he's doing! 😀😃🙂🙃😊
Happy Veterans Day Lt. Dan. and 850J, thank you for your service.
Thanks
I really forgot how much I enjoyed watching your videos man thanks again
Thanks appreciate that
Jerry is an artist with a dozer. It has been a real pleasure to watch the progress so far.
awesome drain job.Glad Jerry didn't get hurt ,he is safe on the dozer
Great job running the dozer Jerry
Great video, very fun to watch the pond drain 👍🏻
Wow, what a bunch of handsome worms! Made to want to get fishing for supper! All the different plants are pretty. I love watching you work! Hey to Ratty!
This is so cool. I've learned a lot about backhoes. Plus, the different views
Greeting from No. VT - Really great job of planning the water flow and smart positioning of your Volvo to do the critical work fast and safely. With you digging and Jerry pushing I was impressed at how fast the drain channel dig moved. This video is a textbook example of how safely draining a pond should be done; both quickly and with the least amount of rework later. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome, thank you!
Muskrats and beavers are diffently a pond dams worst enemy. Had lots of trouble with them on our ponds. Nice video did enjoy it. 😊😊
Another fantastic 5 ⭐ video glad Jerry didn't get hurt in the hole , see yah on the next one God bless y'all from South Carolina viewer follower
This guy just effortlessly controls that bucket. Pretty impressive job well done fellas!
Great job glad your using old green .glad Jerry is doing ok.
Excellent video - cool job
Thanks
If there's any good looking fish in there, you can scoop them up with the excavator bucket and keep them in your freezer. After the dam
is repaired, you can return any of them that want to go. 🦈
Enjoy the video as always glad Jerry is OK Can’t wait to see the next video thanks for making them 👍😊
Thanks 👍
Love it when a plan comes together. Pushing mud should be fun. As long as it's y'all doing it. 😂 Really glad Jerry wasn't hurt. That could've been much worse.
It's amazing how you can plan a job expecting some problems and bang, no problems at all. That's the amazing part.
So far!!!
Amazing power! That digger is a true marvel!
Boy that ground was packed very tight watching it slab up you know it was very tight an packed right good job old timers
I realize this is 2 years old but Jerry going down sideways on that hill reminds me of my husband cutting the culvert on our mower. Scares the bejeezus in to me as I pray every time he does it. Some guys have no fear. ✌🏻🤍✌🏻
Its always Fun when draining a Pond. Glad too see You saved the fish and Turtle in it. Im glad Jerry is ok Those holes like that are very dangerous. Hazards of Our Job working in Dirt. I was on a Job and it was above an old Coal mine and The Guy on an CAT D-8T found one of the tunnels with his one track. Lucky he wasnt centered over it. Him and the Dozer would of been in the tunnel. It took a 6015 B Cat Hoe too pull the 8-T out and just a little damage on the one side from being tipped on the side. Anyhow Good job on draining the Dam and cant wait to watch Jerry tomorrow pushing the Slim out of it..Great Video.
That’s not just your videos I haven’t been watching any dirt work videos or any videos far as that goes for the last six months UA-cam is gone to all commercials and it really kind of pisses me off but it’s good to see you again man..I traded in all my dirt work equipment for a 54 inch Toro zero turn lol
I really like the fact that you do not have a attitude to "That's the way we have always done it"
Although you don't really say it but i feel you have a postmortem of the job in your mind.
Evaluate, introduce the pros into your future projects and keep moving forward.
Make it More Better.
As always be good be happy be safe and looking forward to the next one. 🤓
Did Jerry know all his conversation was going on video? That was a cool conversation. I enjoy when professional, gentlemen, work together. We get to watch!
No he did not and thanks
@@DirtPerfect lol!
Old school construction handyman tile man etc on and on lol try to be a jack of all trades I love watching stuff like this 👍👍 I learn something new every day or I try to again love it 👍👍👍👍
👍It would be entertaining to see Matt or Aaron whining while stuck in the middle on the D4. With only 2 feet of mud, I expect Jerry will just push on through with his consistent focus. Thanks for the Vid.
I like looking back on some of these pond jobs.
Good morning DP and Jerry. Let's get some work and fun 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
why is this so fascinating to watch?
Way to go Jerry. Show these kids how it's done.
Always like seeing a professional at work Rock On DP
The easiest way to tell if you got good water or not. Is if you have frogs. If you do not have frogs it's bad water. When I was a little boy we used to find the big bullfrogs along the river. And we would go gigging for them. Now here it is 60 years later and I cannot find a frog nowhere on the river , But the Creek going through my farm. Which is drainage from the hills on my property where the creek starts. It is highly abundant with frogs. And I also have two natural springs on my property. And where they dump into the river is some of the best fishing on the whole river.
32:10 Frog: "WTF happened to my living room?"
I like watching how this stuff is done and folks using those tools. I played with the old Tonka Toys construction equipment (those 2 pieces of equipment and the dump truck) when I was young'n and pretended I was a construction worker building things in the dirt.
Love watching this. Thank you for sharing with us.
Awesome job DP and Mr.Jerry and glad you are ok
Good job and good luck getting it all fixed up
The DP stickers r so fitting on ol greeny. Thats gonna be a beautiful little water hole when yall r done. Esp after grass gets established back around it
That was amazing. Can't wait until the next installment!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the work when you have 2 good operator's that know how to run equipment. Boy love to have some snapping turtle good eating there. Yall keep up the awesome work 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
What A Madlad In The Dozer Sliding Down The Hill Like Its Nothing Mate
Love the time lapses, don’t remember any beeps on Jerry 😉 Hey looks like Jerry rubbed off on Chris, open air cab!!! No a/c😂 great job guys👍🇺🇸
Good job gentlemen, I started watching and I couldn't turn away, very informative. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks
Jerry is the man. Y'all make a great team!
So satisfying to watch.
Mike and Jerry amazing job! Thanks for sharing. Kevin
Thanks for watching!
Cool. Watching lakes get drained in the new pron.
I appreciate your extra cameras. Good stuff.
Thanks
We have an official “Smooth Operator” award here.
Done an excellent job my friend can't wait till the next video for sure have a pleasant day God bless👍🙏
Thanks 👍
Pure strength!
Great video Mr Dirt Perfect and Jerry
I love how you use your excavator arm to point at stuff
😁
Mike,
that bucket mounted camera shot is pretty
cool, and I know you have had that body mic for a bit, it is working great in this end...
Thank you sir.
You are one lucky guy to have Jerry. Not many operators like him anymore. Great video and glad he didn't get hurt in that muskrat tunnel. If he gets stuck you'll have to trade places with him or put man behind the scenes on it. 😂 see yall next time
Good planning and thinking ,all controlled ,great work you two .
Still laughing Jerry,Air Con Cab , he got the Doors wide open .
@14:30 Where you and Jerry are discussing the game plan going forward. I reallly like hearing that aspect.
I really enjoy watching you work on the pond and watching how you repair it but the best is watching the water flow when you turn it loose.
