Mr Cris, I'm a old 75 year old vietnam veteran and I just won't to tell you how much I have enjoyed watching you over the last two or three years . this is something that I would have really enjoyed learning and doing in my later years but it wasn't in the cards for me I guess. So I thank you for getting on youtube and sharing your moments so old farts like me to enjoy. Thank you again and keep up your good work.
Wow. 17 years you guys have been working with this golf course. It shows what awesome work you do and that it's you who want to work their property. I also love how you set up what you're going to do and you explain it all so well. There are several construction/excavation jobs happening around my house. I've become so used to how effortlessly you do things, how the excavator is a part of you that watching others can be a bit jarring because they aren't as smooth & efficient as you. Thanks for the share, Chris. This will be a fun project to watch.
Same for me Vickie, Chris and Mike pretty much post a new video every day and we watch and pretty soon think that skill level is normal and it isn't normal. Still glad they do it though.
From my p.o.v, one of your more interesting videos, Chris, enhanced as usual by your informative commentary with no unnecessary selfies and no time-wasting repetitive introductions. You've hit on a winning formula-please don't change anything.
That old Mill Pond Rock Wall is very Interesting indeed - History Preserved ! Great Job on the Pond and we are looking Forward to Part 2 Tomorrow - well done and many Cheers from us in Australia !!!!
Well, I wanted another pond series after a long stumping and clearing one. I thought it'd be a build a pond series. Turns out it's another golf course pond clearing series and it'll be just as entertaining watching Chris and his Uncle John getting this one done.
Thanks Chris…that long stick looks way easier than it probably is to operate. Love the rock wall in the dam that the old-timers built for the mill pond.
It is definitely not a machine everyone can run, it's a lot like running a crawler crane, slow and steady, with no sudden changes. You've got to plan several moves ahead and watch your balance.
Chris Even with that long boom unit, you make it look so smooth, easy, and productive. That is another reason why it is so great to set and watch you put those excavator through their paces. Please take care of yourself and be careful around all heavy equipment. 🤓👍🤗😎.
I have watched so many of your videos and learned a lot by watching your techniques and explanations. I have got a job mostly running equipment now after some smaller jobs getting some basic experience and I'm loving it even though it's much smaller equipment. Working on a pond now building a driveway across that had mud as bad or worse than this that is spring fed. Thanks for recording and uploading these videos and putting the time in. I hope to one day own my own equipment but for now I'm enjoying just operating.
Love watching the pond dredging videos. That’s how I stumbled on to your channel 3yrs ago watched a pond dredge. I have been watching since. Great job as usual Chris.
Hope your New Year is full of work, happiness, lots of fun & loads of prosperity. Thank you for a clean mouthed channel. My 6 year old Great Granddaughter & her 10 year old brother enjoy our "popcorn & Chris" evenings.
This golf course just goes to show if you do good work then you can have repeat business for over a decade! I can’t count the number of videos I’ve seen you working on this place
I have no idea how far away Chris's shop is, but you (talking about the golf course) are very fortunate to be able to secure Chris, I don't know the man never met him and have no ties to him, but when all the votes are counted he is the winner by a country mile, he has the smoothest touch in the industry I am 74 years old I never imaged that I would be entertained by watching a man operate an escalator but here I am and so glad that I am...lets dig some more...
Lots of mud to move, going to look great when your done if you can hold to plan. Long reach definitely the machine for this job. Thanks for the ride along sir
Love this type of 'strolling' destinations. Great history to this pond in your work. The years of experience in dredging are obvious in how you approach this job.
I had to load side dumps with the long reach cleaning a silt basin last month. That takes some getting used to when the truck is 50 feet away from you.
Luv this project. After 17 yrs u are back to clean it up again. Your God given gift as excavator pro is serving u so very well. Luv this video! God's blessings and take care of yourself.
When you mention Liebherr long reaches, the one that always pops into mind is you cleaning out that canal with the one that had Deere controls and getting more and more pissed off at the rig as you went on.
This video really helped me to understand how to dredge. I’m learning to run a Kaiser S1 Mobil excavator also know as the Spider here in south Louisiana. I can not see most the time what I’m doing but going by feel. This video was a HUGE help in learning to wipe out canals. Thanks
I know that the long-reach excavator cost the company a lot of money, but watching it work for the second time, it certainly seems to have been money well spent. Inasmuch, as it saves moving the machine so much, saves driving into the pond to dig out the mud, and saves buying, placing, and continuously moving machine mats to sit on. I am sure, it also saves a whole lot of personal aggravation in getting the mud and debris out of the pond, spillway, or wherever, and having to clean the machine will not be nearly as bad as when you were moving around in the sloppy mess. So I am happy for you that your Uncle John opened up the company's wallet and spent some of that money that he has been banking.
So I've been watching your channel for about 6 years on my phone only Yesterday I watched your video on my kids 75" HD tv Wow what a difference I thought I was in the machine with you 😆
Yeah, it's been a good minute , if you guys still had the Army Truck !! Looks like you got quite a bit dug out and laid back there today.... I know Unk John was diggin' some hella ruts getting over there to the pit, and back !! You said, what I was thinking Chris, That bucket just looks little way out there on the long reach, when really it's a pretty damn big bucket !! The Long Reach is a good looking machine too !! That was crazy when you was digging the pit, every scoop you got was full of damn golf balls from last time you guys was there...lololol.. They was falling out everywhere...lolol... Great as always Chris !! Have a Great Evening, And, On too the Next !!
Amazing I have never seen this process before. Ya times you almost need a larger counter weight when you get a bucket load. Glad it was you in the seat and not me haha.
Morning Chris, thanks for sharing yet another great video, You don’t really get a true perspective of just how much material you shift until you give us a wide angle view of you working that monster… I bet that there were many badly behaved golf balls hiding in that sludge. Can I wish you a very happy Christmas and a prosperous new year, Stay safe Sir.
Chris you pretty smooth with the long reach too although it looks a bit tricky but you handle it pretty well must be all them years playing with big toys 😎🇺🇸
Wonder if the hole in the center was for fish habitat ? Perfect example of a cement pumper for your bucket to fill and pump into a truck or spread it out or create a feature.
I'm impressed with how steady the machine is on its tracks with that big boom and dipper fully extended with a heavy bucket of mud. Is the machine purpose built with a heavier counterweight or is it an add on ?
I was thinking the same.thing. I'd bet the bucket is a lot smaller than what we usually see Chris working with. Less capacity to account for the additional leverage
He did say when first tried it out he wanted a bigger bucket at first but was glad they didn't buy one.Fully extended full it was tippy. Can't tell if it has a factory counter weight or not.
@@richardschipper5989 In the next video he says that it is actually a 5' wide bucket but that it looks small because it's so far away from the camera. With a heaping load he figured it was moving 2 yards at a time.
Great video as always, when you were reminiscing about the golf course,I was remembering I watched you do so many projects on that place.that means you were in your twenties.god your old.Lol. Great job, just keep doing your thing.plus little thinner and shorter hair.Lol.😎😎😎👍👍👍

Hi Chris enjoyed the video as usual the obvious silt issue would or should lead those in the know to question the position of the pond while no doubt there maybe some historical value to the old mill pond the suggested use of silt traps may promote extended times between dredging lol
Boy I wish I could follow you around with my metal detector at some of the older historical places you work at like family farms! I know from past experience in NC there is so much history there. I use to vacation at Figure 8 island by Wilmington and it used to be a old Army Air Corps gunnery Range so I would find a bunch of brass from the airplanes that would use it back then!

I think what makes this channel so good, is Chris' commentary. He lets us know what is happening and why, and explains the process keeping us involved and interested. Two or three years ago, there used to be a lot of comments comparing this channel to Andrew Camarata. That does not seem to happen now as the two channels have diverged so much. Plus Chris is getting ever more slick with excellent equipment that he takes enormous pride in, and Andrew keeps buying junk and breaking it (for no reason). His channel is becoming too cringe making to watch with his super sketchy work practices. In his last upload he has bought a rock crusher that he promptly breaks by being something between careless and stupid. But the thing that left me shaking my head was when he towed a nice extendable camper to the top of his new mountain property. There he was with an area that included a dozer and skid steer, but when he tried to open the extending part of the camper it was jammed because the frame was so twisted. Instead of using the dozer or skid steer to grade a nice flat area for the camper, he instead used a high-lift to force it open doing all sorts of damage. That is entirely typical of how he works nowadays, and it is painful to watch.
From what I can tell Andrew's viewers like seeing the improvements he makes and him repairing things or building things instead of buying which is why he buys what some would call junk or do questionable things like what you described with the camper.
Fully agree and stopped watching and barred his channel from appearing on my recommendation list. It was mechanical torture. Good editing skills though. Overall his channel is like a reality to show , excess drama for now reason. Chris doesn’t do drama even when occasionally things go wrong. D
List of things I, somebody who watches A C and enjoys it, would like to call out on your rant: 1. Claiming he's "cringe" because he doesn't buy the fanciest and newest shit is like claiming somebody is stupid because they don't know the dealership employees on a first name basis. Also, that's probably the reason he buys "junk" (We all know the saying, you're just ignoring it in your little "holier-than-thou" rant) is BECAUSE he has stuff happen. 2. Yes, he isn't Captain High-Vis in terms of safety. Yes, he does dumb shit from time to time. EVERYBODY does. You're bullshitting if you claim otherwise, and I don't tolerate bullshit. 3. Consider the following: What is Andrew currently doing? Working on cleaning up a MOUNTAIN TOP. What does Chris do? Jobs mostly involving dirt. Buying a Rock Crusher (especially since he's using the rocks he crushes as road gravel) to crush up all the rock he moves is a no-brainer. 4. How did the Rock Crusher "break" in your words (not just pulling a Biden and stammering constantly before saying "yknow, the thing! C'mon man!" ) as in the ACTUAL damage? (Note to folks who haven't seen the video where he brought it up: the belt motor got bent out of position by a branch, somehow, as he was WALKING IT UP THE MOUNTAIN BECAUSE ITS A FUCKING MASSIVE ROCK CRUSHER and this was before he had any gravel road for grip. Don't try to claim he could just have the guy haul it up.) If something like "Oh, he just dinged the paint! Its junk now!" is how you operate, then don't fucking touch any kind of machinery. 5. You yourself said in your comment: quote "There he was with an area that included a dozer and skid steer, but when he tried to open the extending part of the camper it was _jammed because the frame was so twisted_ Instead of using the dozer or skid steer to grade a nice flat area for the camper, he instead used a high-lift to force it open doing all sorts of damage." mind elaborating for the class? Or are we just going to circle-jerk about how one guy operates? TL;DR: Don't go sucking each other off while shitting on somebody just because the guy doesn't act EXACTLY how you like. Don't claim somebody is "cringe" just because they don't buy the fanciest toys either.
One of those nice jobs when you go home at the end of the day you can actually see what you have achieved - unlike stumping when you seem to end up with a bigger mess than you started with! 😂
Golf courses prefer a deeper drop off for ponds with the edges, they like this because weeds will be less likely to grow, hence this one has rocks, for a straight down edge but I'm sure it varies depending on the course and club members
I have been watching your channel for years and enjoying it. I watch "dirt perfect" and "bealy good" because of you. Can you put Charlie's UA-cam channel where it can also be subscribed too.
I'm working on cleaning up the yard for a tree/landscaping company who has dumped for 14 years. I'm digging up the organic material and screening it for use, and they buried EVERYTHING.The pile is 25-30 feet deep and it has logs, more, logs, and yet even more logs. Oh wait an entire tree, and half a city block of concrete in 4 pieces, oh and even more logs. Have I mention LOGS!!!!!!!!! Digging it all up with a CTL, I need an excavator! 😂😂😂

I had hoped Samantha would calm Andrew down. Hasn't happened yet.
Ive tried to watch A C channel w long term type watch etc etc & i just cant, Not even in the same ballpark imo.
List of things I, somebody who watches A C and enjoys it, would like to call out on your rant:
Thank you for another good video!!!
Interesting job is going to be looking forward. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
One of those nice jobs when you go home at the end of the day you can actually see what you have achieved - unlike stumping when you seem to end up with a bigger mess than you started with! 😂
You could've used that long reach on the big pond job with the new house build. Not having to lay over so many times.
I'll just watch one more video....Ok - just one more. Chris's videos are addicting.
Nice clean job
Golf courses prefer a deeper drop off for ponds with the edges, they like this because weeds will be less likely to grow, hence this one has rocks, for a straight down edge but I'm sure it varies depending on the course and club members
I have been watching your channel for years and enjoying it.
I watch "dirt perfect" and "bealy good" because of you.
Can you put Charlie's UA-cam channel where it can also be subscribed too.

Thank you
I just subscribed
Thanks
I love this episode
Can imagine lots of golf balls in that mud😊
Love all your videos. Question, how deep are most ponds you dig? Should they be as deep as possible?
I'm working on cleaning up the yard for a tree/landscaping company who has dumped for 14 years. I'm digging up the organic material and screening it for use, and they buried EVERYTHING.The pile is 25-30 feet deep and it has logs, more, logs, and yet even more logs. Oh wait an entire tree, and half a city block of concrete in 4 pieces, oh and even more logs. Have I mention LOGS!!!!!!!!! Digging it all up with a CTL, I need an excavator! 😂😂😂
