Polly!! 💖 You've helped me so so much in my rollerblading journey (I started in february and am completely addicted!), your tiktoks are amazing but i'm so happy to see a longer video coming from you!! Please keep making them! You could make blading vlogs too, that would be amazing, we need more girl blader representation!!!!
Hey there coach Polly! Just turned 37 and thought it was the perfect age for me to learn how to skate. Been watching your videos and today I used a lot of your tips. Thank you
Really good instructions! I wish I had these 4 or so years ago when I started inline skating for the first time at the age of 47. With that said there are a few turns in your tutorial that I don't know.
I’m 12 years old my dad just bought me rollerblades I’ve been watching your videos a lot it’s really helpful ,it helped me a lot. You’re the best thank you! 😊
Thank you Polly. I am going on 71 and put may rollerblades on for the first time in 10 years. Fourth day in a row. I pick something that you present and work on it. Keep it up! Very appreciated. Well done!!
Great Job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Inside lead foot! Because your technically pivoting around that like you would on a heel pivot. It’s pretty hard tho to figure it out and I’ve seen a lot of beginners feel confused so I left that out to make it less complicated 🙊
@@PollySkates that makes sense. I find myself naturally applying pressure to the outside foot, but I suppose better weight distribution comes with experience
Yeah I think naturally your weight wants to go outside like on the monster turn, but the parallel turn is more of a pivot when you do it super tight, so you want to learn how to use your weight on the inside foot for that. 🙉 it’s a lot to think about.. I always just say practicing is the best way to figure it out when something feels complicated
Thanks , my all friends know how to rollerblade but I was a beginner Rollerskater, now 4to 5 days ago dad buyed me rollerblades on my birthday....because of you I am able to skate few miles in speed without falling tysm ❤❤❤❤❤❤love from India..
Hi I found this video by searching exactly for someone explaning different tipes of turns, I loved your content and I see you are really good. I'll appreciate if you're going to make some new episode with some exercises we can make to be better and start explaning some figure figures Keep going you have some talent!!
Im struggling with the scissor one, i put my feet parallel with the one on the side i want to turn towards more forward than the other, edge the sides of my blades towards where i want to go, and lean. But i just keep moving forward while im on the edge of my blades, then i lose my balance and fall
This was awesome!! Thank you so much for making this! I only today tried out blades today at a rink. I’ve tried skates before, but I couldn’t do it. This helped a ton and your oh no, go low saved me so many falls!! 😂😭
I like the one where you turn where you look, because even I as a bike rider, we turn where we look, and that's because it's your minds behavior that tells your body to immediately turn
Sorry im confused.....how do you turn without lifting your foot up? Cause whichever way the wheels are facing thats where they're going and when i try to scissor and lean into, i just go straight no matter what.
Hi! So I had the same issue starting out and I think really leaning and engaging your leg muscles is important to control the wheel direction. If you don’t lean your body *enough*, or if you basically don’t squeeze your legs and really force your feet in the desired direction, then the wheels are just going to continue going forward because of momentum. + shift your weight! Beginners want to put all their weight near the toes/lift their heels slightly because it’s the front toe wheels that’ll steer you. Hope that helps!
I am 50 year old guy and a beginner on roller blades. Your video helped me lot. You are awesome. Thank you.

Thanks for the tips polly! When parallel turning, should you distribute your weight evenly or more on 1 foot?
Inside lead foot! Because your technically pivoting around that like you would on a heel pivot. It’s pretty hard tho to figure it out and I’ve seen a lot of beginners feel confused so I left that out to make it less complicated 🙊

Hi, i love your vids, but in confused on the monster turn, whenever i do it i just go forward and not turn. Do you have any tips?
will the step turn help in getting that muscle memory to do a parallel turn or so a crossover with enough practice?
when you do heel turn do you give your weight to the other foot?
"most importanly look where you want to go" - starts going backwards* lol
😅

How do i overcome the fear of falling in a parallel turn? If i lean both on the side i feel like i will fall
