    Mike, great episode.
This is the second time that you mentioned the rope that is the feed mechanism for the sawmill carriage. The first time you talked of it you showed a close-up image of the rope. As I recall the rope appears to be braided nylon. Nylon rope is notorious for stretching under load unless it is manufactured with a stiffer core. When wet it is even more stretchy. There is good reasons to use nylon rope when you want the stretch to not transmit a shock load. This may be why Woodmizer chose nylon. Conversely, when stretch causes the issue that you have, retightening to reduce drive pulley slip, a stiffer material like dacron may be the answer. Dacron is more expensive. This may also be why Woodmizer chose nylon. When you get tired of the nylon rope you might consider dacron, FWIW.

Mike and Melissa, it is NICE to see that you are getting something to reduce some of the physical burdens you encounter daily. So happy you both are physically fit but you both have so much on your plates, the purchase and operation of the new mill should free up more of your time. Allowing you opportunities to explore your many endeavors. Hope that you find it a Game Changer and enjoy how it allows for more time to do other things.
As far as the work boot situations, I hope you take it for what it is. Concern for you and your family, I HOPE, especially with Eva's upcoming surgery. Because most videos are edited, it is difficult to truly get the whole picture of how things transpire. But having watched your family for sometime now, Mike you are a pretty smart guy. Thank you for sharing, look forward to this Next Project coming up and the difference it will make. Until then, keep us entertained, be safe, may your family be healthy and we will see you soon.

Just an FYI. I built my sawmill shed with 18' access opening. When sawing big heavy beams or 2x, I am able to lift the finished product with the tapper rollers and go under the finished with forks on my skid steer to lift off and not have to lift with my 70 year old back. Just need to allow for forklift access when bhilding your building.

Good afternoon from Waxhaw, NC to a brother who used to live in Broome County, NY where winters are long and the snow is deep. Again, Happy New Year and ..... I had a feeling that you had bigger and better plans to upgrade your mill - remember, I was talking about "scaling" your business, and your right on track. Next, the mill shed, then the wood dryer, especially for your "special" cuts (tabletops, fireplace mantels, etc) which incidentally, bring big bucks and I'm not talking the four-legged variety. I like the daily videos and the quality. It is evident that you put a lot of time and thought into them; editing and background music. Prayers for Eva and Hunter. God bless your family in the New Year

Hi Mike and Melissa, I've recently started saving up my pennies to buy a saw mill. Nothing like the new one you have ordered but more like the old one, I'm a retired police officer and just not enough pennies yet..lol.. to me your old version would be a dream come true for me. Hopefully one day I will be able to get to get one. I have a few nice red oaks on my property that are rt next to my house and they have grown way too big for their location but I do not want them to go to waste so I'm going to try and hold off until I can get a saw mill so I can make something out of them. God bless and a Happy New Year to you and your family. Looking forward to seeing your new saw mill..

Next time someone that mentioned that Levi wasn't wearing the proper shoes; gets up in the middle of the night and stubs your toe on a piece of furniture, remind yourself that you weren't wearing the proper shoes.
I'm amazed the quality of work that your LX150 sawmill puts out with all its quirky manual controls. Can't imagine how much better it'll be with the new sawmill. The hydraulic turn and level system will save you a lot of time and manual labor and make your milling projects go so much quicker.

I was ready to buy the exact same mill 2 years ago. When I went to order it, the sales person essentially talked me out of it and kept pushing me towards the LT 50. I found that confusing because I had done lots of research, and have lots of experience with my LT 40 super hydraulic. I saw solo essentially 100% of the time and really liked the board return on the LX 450. I ended up not buying either mill and am still running my LT 40 super. Just thought it was odd they talked me out of buying that mill. I will say, however, I think you made an excellent choice. Enjoy.

I run an LT40HD that is about 20 years old now. I saw by myself so I'm am not surprised you upgraded. Without the hydraulic lift, stops, and leveling rollers, there is a lot of time consuming tasks that will now become routine. It does certainly speed up sawing but the main thing it just makes sawing a lot more fun. Congrats on the new mill. Can't wait to see it in action. I also subscribe to Nathan's "Out of the Woods" channel. I only live a few miles from his operation in east Tennessee.

Thatis a great log from your neighbors! Nice to hear about your new sawmill! That will increase your efficiency and production! You are right Melissa is irreplaceable! You both are irreplaceable. When you build your shed, are you going to leave a permanent opening to bring logs to the sawmill, Or will you have an automatic door that will lift? On your new sawmill, will you be getting the device that slides your boards off the log? I am not sure what it is called, but saw that on a few sawmill UA-cam channels. It is great to see you grow with production, and equipment over the last year. 2022 will be an even better year for you and Outdoor with the Morgans!

Your first mill will always be the first one period. I would not get rid of it at all. If anything, I would mount it with some thought on whats best for sawdust discharge and put on a flatbed trailer so its alway level to the trailer. Make it rigid an then if you tow it to a neighbors, it would set most anywhere and that trailer would be able to store a days or more cuttings, sorted and stickered and all. A small blade shed for blades, small tools, broom, shovel, cant hook because I think you said a skidsteer is in the future too. I wouldn't involve the skidsteer hauling on that trailer, just milling. It makes sense as set up takes time and if the mill and saw are in time with each other, the angle of the trailer "not too exaggerated" would not matter as long as everything is safe. I did it with a mill and it worked so dang good I thought others would copy it. Its a win win and most times the time someplace else doesn't make sense to haul a bigger mill to. I would just about bet that in most cases, its the value of the wood, not the volume of it. You get the new mill set up proper, its going to stay there as it should. I don't think you like people like me telling you these ideas as your your own man and can think for yourself just fine. I have done it too and it was good for me. Oh, no one would ever let you live it down if it was to replace the lady of the house as we love her too. A truly wonderful woman in her own rights and so dang healthy.... errrr... I am jealous of that myself.

Mike I heard you say the new sawmill will have a remote station which is awesome. My friend has a Woodmiser too. The first one had a remote stand and the one he has now has a seat to sit and ride on. He likes it better because he is sitting right behind the blade and can see if he needs to stop it really quick because of wire or nail ect. He said it is kinda like sitting in a big industrial/commercial sawmill cab sawing all day. Great video! Melissa you may like running the new sawmill. I have run one like y'all are getting. I remember the Jessie on Pure Life for Living had his mill on concrete blocks and was always having to level it. And his mill was also portable. He was under the gun to kick out the timbers for his home. He loaned it out and I don’t remember if he reset it on poured concrete slab. I guessed that you have yours on concrete slab. There is always a learning curve on equipment like the sawmills. And I have always enjoyed your music selections. Tavaris (Of CarTrek fame) uses several on the music selections when working on his cars.

I just watched a video of the lx450 since you mentioned it here. That thing is NICE! I'm thinking of purchasing a sawmill but I doubt I will be able to start out with anything that fancy

Slot of your music choices really makes your videos enjoyable. You have a great sense in picking just the right tunes to place on the vids. Keep up the great work.

Nice family projects and love your projects. Just wondering about the longevity of that hose dragging on the logs. Thanks and God bless.

Just been watching some videos of the 450 sweet bit of kit. I worked in the Motorised RV industry after the military and we used a lot of American Red Oak!

I have to agree with Nathan. I’ve been watching his channel as long as I’ve been watching yours. That hydraulic log turner is a HUGE time saver. I don’t care who you are, time is money. I think the Hydraulic mill is a very worthwhile investment. Never say never. I can see you upgrading someday. Maybe sooner than you realize.

Hi Mike, nice to hear of the new hydraulic mill! I have an LT40 Wide Super with the diesel and operator station (that Nathan suggested to me) on order since last March. I saw recently where my build date was pushed back to May 10th! Oh well, it is still getting closer each day. Keep up the great content. Happy New Year from western, NY.

Hey Mike and Melissa just want to say congrats. on the new toy coming in. It will make milling so much easier for you and Melissa. If you want to replace Melissa, I'll take her... JK. Lol She's a keeper and you have a wonderful woman. Sorry to hear you had a problem with 1 video, but your smart enough you knew how to handle it. Wow Mike that log you just milled is beautiful. Hope you put it to good use. Perhaps make a little something for your neighbor, the lady it came from. Just a thought.. Well good job and be safe

Hi Mike: Love your vids. I ordered a T-35 HD in the end of July. Woodmiser told me there is a 75 week wait. Glad you are not having to wait that long.

I was just joshing you about being the "board taker offer" when Levi runs the mill. That's a lot of money to get out of that task. 😆 Congratulations on the new mill. I watch Nathan use his and it's a beast. Y'all have a great day.

I'm finally getting my 150, in a couple weeks, Mike, part of the reason I ordered it was watching your videos, plus I had an lt28, and sold it. I ordered mine almost a year ago, and still waiting for delivery, was supposed to be here in July, but because of covid, etc. It was delayed, love the videos, am jealous of your log selection there, we mostly have pine here. God bless, happy New Year.
