Another excellent video Bob!! I have had the same thing happen with the mic, it's very frustrating for the creator, but most people don't even notice. I just wanted to clear up a couple of things as an EV6 owner of 3 months. The lane keep assist can be switched off by holding down the steering wheel button in the bottom left of the cruise control buttons. Looks a bit different which is great with the plethora of SUVs out there. That price needs to be down around mid €40k though which will never happen in Ireland of course!

Great review. Really enjoying my EV6 AWD - think it's by some margin the best-looking of the current crop of EVs, and the build quality is excellent. Range is close to the claimed figures too, and charging on 350kW chargers (when you can find them) is astonishing.
There's a button on the steering wheel to turn off the Lane Keep Assist. They have made it particularly convenient in this car by leaving it on the steering wheel. Hiding in plain sight you might say! :D
Another honest down to earth review Bob.For me,though it may be subjective, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is the real game changer in evs..Nothing else like it on the road.Meets all of my commute requirements.More presence(ts) than Santa!
To turn off lane keep assist hold the lane keep assist button (second from left at bottom) for a couple of seconds. Long way is through Car settings, Assist systems
Hi Bob, I like your honest shoot from the hip reviews. I have driven all the cars you have tested. The Enyaq is brilliant, my favourite, yet very expensive and in particular to adding packs, a rip off really totally under speced from new.
I love how Kia and Hyundai basically went "Surprise bitch!" to the VAG group and put out a car that can easily compete the Enyaq ,ID.3 and ID.4 and in many areas out perform them. Considering how arrogant VAG was and how everybody thought they'd take the crown, these cars came almost out of no where. Better specs, and even the base specs already delivering more than what you can get on VAG cars. Heck no options needed, just pick a car spec and go. Also 800 volt charging, so if you can find those ionity chargers, it'll be charging very speedy. IF you can find them.
@Concrete Head The Koreans? And maybe Honda too. But Toyota is a bit behind. They weren't always, with their push for hybrid. But the current CEO went on a little separate path with Hydrogen and allowed the others to catch up and pass them. Now they must catch up again. It isn't as easy as just dropping a battery in a car, there is a lot more to it. VAG is also learning this the hard way, and are learning fast. But in their case it's mostly their dealers that screw up, that and importers that just HAVE to shaft customers. LIke why not do with Kia does, make a car that stays under a certain price so you can have subsidies and have plenty of standard kit on it? Nope, with VAG you have to deal with all kinds of expensive options to get to the same level of kit... while dealing with a dealership that will try to shaft you :( . Ford has a similar problem around here.

Great review Bob , I have read that one of the good positives with the Kia is that the lane keep can be switched off from the steering wheel which is great as I think on the VW it's always on which can be very annoying on the country roads
Beautiful car and great review. Looks quite wide which seems to be a trend for non-SUV EVs. A bit of a nail biter in multistory car parks! Really nice car though, Kia and Hyundai are becoming leaders in this segment for me.
Another great and informative review as was your Enyaq review, now would just love to see a Bob Flavin quality full review off the ID4 GTX. The recent vid was more a discussion on infrastructure than an in-depth review of the actual GTX. Yes things have come a long way as regards BEVs and credit where its due you too have moved much on this matter. Love the 'Bat Mobile' analogy for the EV6 - Bang on capturing its style. Hi, to turn off lane keeping departure its on the steering wheel. 👍 shame you don’t have the AWD in Ireland as performance is excellent. Chargers will very soon change as have to. Good review though.
Hi, here in the UK ordered a Kia EV6 GTline S in black back in September 2021 expected delivery ( hoping for March 2022 New plate ) now told possible delivery expected! June - August maybe September ( If I am lucky ) Sod going electric I think I will order a 2019 Range Rover Evogue instead.
Nice Review Bob. Enjoy watching your videos although slightly different in England (opposite side of the road and in imperial measurements. One thing I had noticed while you were carrying out the review and driving the Kia, is that the side mirror picture (left and right view) appears on the dash in a circular view shape. Happy New Year and no problems or issues with the sound ;)
Can you do a review again I was listening to on a radio show lately and there was some good points you raised about How bad and the network in Ireland for charging and costs
SUV once meant Sport Utility Vehicle, meaning you can go off road as well as street use. This, and cars like the MachE, Id4, Model Y, are really CUV, Cross Over Vehicles.
I test drove today and, at six feet one, I was very disappointed with the head room. I would prefer to lose some of the ample rear seats leg room for a bit more hear room throughout the car
I love your reviews, very real world. One comment though. Whilst i am sure its true you need faster chargers, all cars can at least get a fair stab at adding miles in the 45 mins and battery size doesn't really come into it, its miles added that counts not % battery. Hi Bob. Kia are insisting on a service every 15,000 kms (same as i.c.e cars) and coolant changed every 45,000 kms. Any idea why? Seems to me they're trying to milk what they can get out of owners. Also 2 garages I've asked are quoting €52k for earth model not €50k. I'm assuming this is because it's a sellers market. In my opinion it's the nicest looking EV available but the 15,000km servicing policy will stop me from purchasing.
15,000 klm is the avg 12 months travel distance. The warranty will want the car serviced every 12 months or 15,000klms whatever comes first. Many current ev owners do very little driving even dinner if these reviewers do every little driving as i get my Hyundai serviced 3 times a year and yeah it's max is 15,000 klm and i try to ease off on the klms heaps. There's ev owners that are doing less than 3,000 miles in 3 years not klm miles and put out reviews on cars. Coolant didn't last forever either, red coolant should be replaced every 100,000 klm but green is 40 to 50,000 klm. A lot of ev owners aren't mechanics and don't know there's more to the car than just a battery
@@zagan1 but I thought "EV's have less moving parts so don't require the same servicing intervals as i.c.e cars" ? They are over inflated is currently due to short supply and grant scheme. I would say they will be in short supply for the next five years so depreciation won’t be quite as severe on an EV. That said at the rate of change for new technology we might have flying cars in five years!
Comments elsewhere here state that the lane change can be deactivated with a 3-sec press on a steering wheel button. As opposed to a 3-deep menu on the VWs ...
So they are running out of fossil fuel and the price per litre is crazy atm.. so I figure that in the near future it looks like all vehicles will be electric therefore raising the demand for energy therefore creating massive energy bill hikes for everyone... even if you don't drive. am I right?
Seen a number of reviews of this car. Seems brilliant. Nobody mentions software-updates though. Do I have to go back to the dealer for that? At what cost? Would not prefer over the air control, sorry, updates like Tesla's, but am not so fond of dealers either.
@@wimjongman Thanks Wim. I suppose updates are not free-of-charge (pay the dealer for his time). If Tesla can do it over the air, why wouldn't I be able to do it from a USB-device; same risk of failure I'd say. Go to the dealer if you don't trust yourself.
Do you know why it's called EV 6? Because you can only drive it 6 months of the year. In the winter it's terrible and it breaks all promises concerning fast charging. It will not let you pre heat the battery because it is so inefficient that additional energy consumption from the heater would show bad it really is. The concept is compensatig bad efficiency with fast charging and in the winter it all falls apart. Also it is no fun to drive at all. It is heavy and it feels heavy. The test drive was a real disappointment. There is on, let of repeat that on charging plannig at all available in the car and the tech feels like it is from the last decade. By now VW are way ahead of KIA and Hyundai.
They're a nice car to look at, but the interior is an absolute heap. No nice interior in any cars nowadays, all cheap and screens that are hardly useable
I love the fact I’n the first minute of the clip claimed range is 500 km and at 98% it’s 373km showing on the dash 😂😂😂😂😂 These cars are way overpriced and 10 years off Plus infrastructure is appalling in Ireland not that we should be surprised.
Its not really appalling. Could it be better, yes. But with the new generation cars even a 22kw post is a great option for a long journey and generally there is no issue as there is much less need for charging away from home.
@@bruts82 Yeah if its her first EV then I can see this as an issue. I had a nissan leaf for 5 years before this and that was real range anxiety !! But all EVs the same and is not a problem whatsoever if you know this beforehand. It's a shame as she is now missing out on all the benefits of owning a EV and has gone for a GTI which is more expensive !! ID3 would have offered a similar driving experience yet only cost less than 20 euro a week to drive! Then you will have all the maintenance issues that a ICE car has.. Anyway its probably the last GTI she or anyone will ever purchase as BEV's will be normal within 5 years.
@@BobFlavinVideo maybe bt still ofers 7 seats for a big family and thts a big selling point when u think about size off most ev cars most off them big or tryng to hide the size in the shape
Crazy price Bob, you would get a super Merc for that..... If I got one for nothing I would sell it, No 1 if we all get electric cars the national grid would not be able to supply enough power to charge them, No 2 there are not enough charging points in the country, No.3 it's the planes up in the sky are doing the damage to our planet, pouring out tons of fumes every hour of every day. My car uses ad blue which cleans the exhaust fumes coming out of the engine, so Bob I think nothing will beat Diesel mine does 50 miles to the gallon and I can claim back the V.A.T on the diesel so it's really cheap, A Kia to me is like a virus I could not drive one, if you drive a Merc you will never again drive anything else..........
Your points for not buying an ev are wrong. No 1 if we all get electric cars the national grid would not be able to supply enough power to charge them. - If nothing changes there is a huge amount of generating capacity at night to provide all the electricity needed for all cars to be electric. But things are changing and renewables will power everything in the not too distant future. No2. For Emissions just from Transport, Airlines only produce around 8% of global emissions. Just passenger cars are at 41% of global emissions, Heavy vehicles 22% of emissions. If these are the reasons you are not getting an ev you had better reconsider. Or maybe just stop putting out false information.. The information is so freely available that it makes you look like you'd rather be part of the problem and not the solution.
My brother works on the national grids and he said that there no way they could supply power if all cars were electric in any country at the moment. I think you are wrong about the planes in the sky a Jumbo burns more fuel than a hundred cars would in 6 Month just to go from the gate to the runaway. so those are figures I read in the web a few Weeks ago
@@O123-j9s there’s nearly 2 billion cars on the road. It’s easy to say I’m wrong but you are working off a hunch and don’t want to believe it’s true. It’s a massive problem and it needs to be solved. Car ownership will plummet as self driving cars come into play. Total number of cars on the road will drop by a factor of 10. It’s all a great future. We just have to get behind it.
@@O123-j9s already the grid is supplied by around 50% renewables. Ireland has a massive resource of off shore wind available to be tapped. 1. Have you heard of renewable energy? Look up the difference in where electricity came from in 2021 v 2011 and compare that to further back. Do you think the thousands of fuel pumps are 24/7 powered on air? 2. I have driven 100,000km in an electric car without a home charger. Where did I charge? 3. Look up road emissions v aviation emissions. Look up the health effects of diesel emissions. Look up the damage done to children's lungs with diesel particles. The last time I checked, I couldn't fly on a commercial electric aircraft but I can drive an electric car to play my part. 4. I drove a Mercedes ML and my dad drove an E Class. I spent more money in one year trying to fix an airbag issue than I did driving an EV for 100,000km and my Dad had to get a solicitor for a second gearbox in his Chrysler powered E Class. Junk of the highest order, a company in free fall due to lack of innovation. The day of the badge is gone, EV's have brought it all back to a level playing field.

So they are running out of fossil fuel and the price per litre is crazy atm.. so I figure that in the near future it looks like all vehicles will be electric therefore raising the demand for energy therefore creating massive energy bill hikes for everyone... even if you don't drive. am I right?
Are you right? No, not at all
@@craiglawlor2749 of course he’s right. Where is this magic supply of cheap electricity going to come from.
Thanks
No good in ireland But loved and rated highly in the UK ?
It looks a very bumpy road and harsh suspension
Lovely review Bob, you need someone to spruce up the bodywork before you Film 😁
Seen a number of reviews of this car. Seems brilliant. Nobody mentions software-updates though. Do I have to go back to the dealer for that? At what cost? Would not prefer over the air control, sorry, updates like Tesla's, but am not so fond of dealers either.
You have to go to the shop to get the update. Today at least. There is a phone/radio in the car so it might change.
@@wimjongman Thanks Wim. I suppose updates are not free-of-charge (pay the dealer for his time). If Tesla can do it over the air, why wouldn't I be able to do it from a USB-device; same risk of failure I'd say. Go to the dealer if you don't trust yourself.
Great review Bob. Shame about the sound, not like u.
Have a crack in a Polestar next please? See what you think comparitively. I think drivewise you might be surprised.
You seem to deem this as the best car based looks. The specs don’t really compare to the best.
And the best is? Just so we can compare specs
€50k!! I mean €50k.... i just can't get past that. Still waiting for those prices to slide...
You really do get what you pay for in EV land. They are all over priced but a new ICE car isn’t exactly cheap or anything
By the way, taking ANYTHING from what VW says, is foolish. Remember “clean diesel”?
Boot in Enyaq must be the biggest of all Electric Cars, KIA/Hyundai very disappointing space and not easy to get in and out of
They're a nice car to look at, but the interior is an absolute heap. No nice interior in any cars nowadays, all cheap and screens that are hardly useable
Get on with it
The best electric car is Tata Nexon ev
Calling this the best EV is a bold faced lie.
So why isn’t a Model Y comparable to this?
Price for the moment. Model Y looks amazing but 70k in Ireland and still no confirmation of a standard range plus coming.
Just a huge Mobile Fire Hazard…
I love the fact I’n the first minute of the clip claimed range is 500 km and at 98% it’s 373km showing on the dash 😂😂😂😂😂
These cars are way overpriced and 10 years off
Plus infrastructure is appalling in Ireland not that we should be surprised.
Its not really appalling. Could it be better, yes. But with the new generation cars even a 22kw post is a great option for a long journey and generally there is no issue as there is much less need for charging away from home.
@@tigertoo01 missus had an id3 gave it back , completely useless vehicle
Swapped for a Gti 😂😂😂
Won’t be going electric again
@@bruts82 I have an ID3. Its not a bad car. Why did she not like it?
@@tigertoo01 range highly inconsistent
Air con huge drag on range
Model y is a model 3 with a lift gate ?? Great reviewing there ??! 😒 I think you can do a bit better than that.
Model Y is a big Model 3. There’s a full review of both on my channel
Got too many problems at the moment
model x then it is
Great car but isn’t the Model X getting a little old at this stage?
@@BobFlavinVideo maybe bt still ofers 7 seats for a big family and thts a big selling point when u think about size off most ev cars most off them big or tryng to hide the size in the shape
True, I forgot about the seven seat!
It’s a huge engineering project but will supply all of Ireland’s needs. No disrespect to your brother but if he’s not involved in planning then he may not be aware.
Oh dear another ev road test . This is getting repetitive .
Suzuki Jimny is next and there’s nothing electic about it 😀
Just a fancy golf cart with screen and stupid gadgets, the hybrid is a better system
