This is a great video, thank you very much. Just as I remembered the railway from when I was a child in the early 1970s. Around 11:30 there is a guard with a thick black beard unlocking the coaches at Tan-y-Bwlch. I'm pretty sure he's the same person who I remember from around that time announcing "MINFFORDDDDDDDDDD!". A real childhood memory brought to life. He left a memory that's lasted 50 years. Thank you!
Lovely to see the original Earl of Merioneth and Mountaineer in steam. I rode the railway a lot in the 1970s, so this is a wonderful reminder of those days to me. I have still pictures from those days, but didn't get my own movie camera until the early 1980s.
A friend of mine and I built that MINFFORDD running-in board in his workshop. Circa 1961/2. The one it replaced read 'Change fot the Great Western Railway' but it was too far gone to repair / restore.
