- How to Get Down Super Curved Root Canals.
@Ehm Penalba asked a great question and here is a quick solution that doesn't require a lot of other tech or gear - just a simple 6,8,and 10 file. This is a tip that Dr. Les Campbell shared with me several years ago to sneak your way down a canal and it works like a charm - but - not always. Canals can be so darned complicated!

Amazing bro....thanks a lot... wonderful technique👌🔥
Perfect video thanks doc!!!
best video in Endodontics
Thank you for sharing.
this is an excellent technique and excellent advice, over there years I would cycle through 8 file-10-15. And I found I never had blocked canals any more. Lots of irrigation and patience. so many race trying to get to the apex and get blocked out early on.
Super helpful video
Great input

Me gusta mucho como realizas tus videos. Felicitaciones desde cdmx.
love it.... thanks big time
Great Vid Doc. ideally, irrigation would be before and after patency filing, but practically and time wise when is the only time required for irrigation? Thanks!
Thank you 🙏
Thank you
nice video greetings from holland
Great tips doc! How did u determine the working length since it wouldn't reach the apical constriction initially? Sorry for my English, thank you🙏
Just one question sir: When do you take the working length in this sort of case?
Otherwise this has been a downright amazing video to watch, I have learned so much from this, it has always been a pain for me getting to the apex in these canals.
Nice tips doc , kindly made vedio how to repair strip perforation
Thank you for sharing this video..
When you pull the file, are you pull it with little pressure and this pressure can broken it or it just a little bit
Yessss..... So goood...
Nice video doc. Is niti hand file can be used with same technique. Will it be more helpful in negotiating curved canals
This is actually tremendously helpful Doc, thanks a million.
May I ask where you got the tooth from?
Thanks
Hey, just discovered your channel! I would be nervous about my 6 or 8 file breaking after they get so bent and after I work them down the root canal several times. How often do you opt for a new file when doing this, or do you generally not have that problem?
Thanks in advance and greetings from Germany :)
Are you using any lube with this? Really loving these new videos! Glad you're back!
What's your protocol for preparing MB2? Or even calcified canals in general?
Also how do you determine to which size you prepare a canal to? Thanks again, Ash.
Mcknockout777 great questions. Absolutely. To simply answer, I will use wave one gold after access to immediately see if I can open up the other orifices. This helps me to figure where the hell I am in the tooth and to use the symmetry rule (do you know this law from Krasner and rankow?). I’ll clean and shape the other canals if I can’t see the mb2 and then tackle mb2 at the end. I haven’t forgotten about the rest of the answer! It’s coming
I really hope you'd post a video on the various instrumentation you use, see i've opened my office less than a year now and i tend to get lost between all the rotary files , hand files , and all the diffrent brands out there on the market,
Hey Dr, I just did my first treatment today for Root Canal, I got 2 more appointments just wanted to know will they drill again on the second treatment for my canal?
The "pinch" I cannot wait
Every time I go to clinic I have at least 5 packs of 6 8 10 files and they always save my life
THANK YOU DOC !
Daryl Daryl Daryl Daryl you’re welcome! Hope it helps!
@@AllThingsDentistry I believe it will help big time! Although I haven't started my endo case in school but soon will!! Can't wait to learn more !
Great job doc, i have some question.. How you irrigate this root canal while the orrifice is small then endodontic irigation syringe.. Which size is 30 gauze, how can this 30 gauze can irrigate this small orifice ( negotiation step)
Hi Dr.
In the video, you said you’ll get glide path then determine working length. In a clinical scenario, how do you determine you’ve worked down the tooth enough that you can measure working length? How do you know you didn’t go past the working length or are short of the working length when making your glide path if you didn’t measure it?
More videos on the topic of Glide Path management would be great!
Looking forward to your content!
Ok my friend. This is for you. I've been thinking about this glide path management video since you posted this comment and i decided to cut it in one shot. I'm sorry if it's an hour . ua-cam.com/video/Oq4JzkTv8QU/v-deo.html
Helpful
Great. I"m glad. Here is a free Endo Gear Guide that you can download. pages.leadpages.net/#/edit/DydKkuDksD57rtpynX46LF
can this tech be used on abrupt curve RC like dilacerated upper premolar?
Great demonstration great video
thanks
After shaping how can we properly obturate curved canals??
Fine 💙
Hi i dont speak english but i want to ask you somthibg .The thing 21 or 25mlm broke inside my teeth is it probelm ?the dentist try to remove the tooth and then get thing out and put the tooth back. but she cant. so she live it inside and tell me maybe need surgery to remov it. And my root are curved (the roots she remove them but brook that thing inside) what should i do?
Hey which file do u suggest for #6 #8 #10?
What if the part after the curve is calcified or very tight ?
I would advise minimizing the watch winding a .06, very easy to separate. more of a tap tap only.
I have a wisdom tooth with curved root. It doesn't hurt but my dentist wants to extract it. Can't I just keep it like that ?
why not use balanced force technique with NiTi k files?
what brand hand file do you use doc
/which sealer do you use?
Can I do this at home?
Small doubt doctor. If v do this way, then overinstrumentation is necessary???
Do you use glide?
I had a failed root canal because the tooth had curved roots and when they did it they couldn't make the curve 😔. It got infected and the infection caused bone loss on my jaw. I had to get it extracted and now i have to get a bone graft and an implant 😩😫.
Dr had had root canal on my back lower tooth and the drill bit end snapped of the dentist couldn't get it out so he filled it and it had become infected once and I have a little pain from it,what should I do have the tooth removed?
Yes unfortunately
Hello, thank you for the great tips! I have a little problem over here from upgrading size 10 to 15 for curved canals. I can go to wl at #15 but apex locator shows 05 from apex instead of 00. Does it mean im causing a ledge?
Use 12,5 k-file👍
so doctor how do i determine the direction of the curvature i make ?
is it by x ray, clinical trial, general anatomy of the roots ???
What an amazing question. I think i'll try to answer this in pieces.
1. The best non invasive way: CBCT
2. Second best - 3 different angled radiographs (Ill try to post something for you so you can see what i mean)
3. General anatomy of the roots (for example, max lateral incisors may have an abrupt distopalatal dilceration that you just have to keep in mind) - MB canals of mand molars may turn lingually (or even distolingually)
4. During treatment - looking at your small files (#6,8) - they will take an "impression" of the canal and tell you which way the curve is going and how much curvature there is!
I hope that helps! A
That helped a lot doc thank you !
My practice doesn't have size 6 files :/
Great video and very informative. but I'm sorry i had to do it.
6:42 : general Kenobi !!
Hello sir which company Kfiles r these??? What its name????
I think its vdw
In patients mouth we wont see files extruding through apex. In this case overintrumentation may lead to flareup.
👌🏻
Turn on captions for the start of the video 🤣
lmfao :D
Only new good files, simple.
The curved tooth is tiny faces left its also a talon/claw
Einstein illusion
Pls explain ur video in comments. I didn't get ur trick
Lol the CC to start out the video says “asshole dentistry” so don’t be surprised if someone calls in asking for that!
OMG. Now that IS funny. 😂
All Things Dentistry I laughed as well. I’ve def been called worse 😂😂
Btw you’re a great dentist. Your passion for your craft is infectious, and has gotten me incredibly interested in dentistry and wishing I had gone that route when I was younger. At 34 i’m way too old now but I have great people like yourself I can watch and learn from so I can at least be an informed consumer! Thank you!
Shoes N Scents thanks for the comment. Btw, you may never be too old!
its not really curved canal!
Stop doing UA-cam videos bro
you should write a book on this topic
