No one is commenting that this speech is a world record of a longest acceptance speech since Oscars in 1943. Good job and thank you very much Christopher Judge!
Haha I'm pretty sure that's the subtle way to tell them to wrap up the speech but our man just kept going and it turned into his soundtrack. If you notice on every other speech they end soon after the music starts.
Kratos, the picture of masculinity, slowly learning to open his heart and let out his emotions was an extremely tough character arc to sell, but Christopher Judge pulled it off brilliantly. Well deserved
@@navdeepsingh3508 *I Bet You'll Miss Your Younger Self When You Were More Wild And Angry, Now You're Just Going To Get As Relaxed And More Calm As Current Kratos As You Age, Because That's Just How Life Is Man.*
He absolutely deserved all the time for his speech. He had to get both hips replaced, a leg surgery, and a back surgery. Ragnarok was almost canceled because of his health but he pulled through and gave the performance of a lifetime.
Good on them letting him have the stage uninterrupted. Mr. Judge seems like a man that has used every moment in life as a learning lesson. What a franchise.
You only get this moment ONCE in life. That turning point where you fought your whole life to be something. Then it happens... And now you have a chance to say how you feel - after everything you suffered through.. to finally BE something. Your second award's speech can never re-capture that. To me, this is the most natural response to such a pivotal moment.
This man made my childhood playing as Teal'c in stargate. Now he’s carrying my adult years as Kratos. Thank you Chris for all the hard work and memories.
omg it's the dude from stargate with the metal in his forehead! I saw like 3 episodes of stargate and a million commericals for it and always wondered why he had that stuff in his head!

I love this, cause back in the day during the star gate days Christopher judge said he idolized al pacino as an actor, so for him to be awarded the best performance for such an emotional performance by the man he idolizes is absolutely amazing and i'm so happy for him. He absolutely earned this one, glad to see him getting ghe credit he deserves cause he's a bloody good actor and until now no one gave him the credit he deserved, so it makes me happy seeing this cause he played one of my favorite characters growing up in teal'c from star gate.
thats great to hear, I'm a big fan of Star Gate SG-1 too, used to always watch it with my grandma who passed away now, whenever I rewatch the show I remember the good old times, we used to love Teal'c he played the role so well, very special kind of role
The connection between Christopher and Sunny are honestly the cutest father/son relationship I’ve ever seen between actors in a long time 🥰🥺 they’re both so proud of each other
That chemistry between them is what made the acting so good and the games so good too. You can tell they really play off each others acting ability and work well together
@@realzxzx It’s fine to be disappointed with not winning something, I’d be disappointed too. But I’m like 99% sure he was still happy Christopher won. He just wasn’t smiling throughout the entire speech.
@@kibbylol If you thought he was too Stoic in Ragnarök, I really don't know what to tell you... Kratos showed so much emotion in the game that at points he looked and sounded like a completely different character. Chris Judge showed that change very elegantly.
Having him and Sunny be nominated together and just him earning the award is just extraordinary. I just finished the game myself, and both of them performed wonderfully. Their voice acting and the story of Ragnarok tied it all together and made it one of my favorite game series of all time. Congrats, to Christopher, he deserves it! 👏
not just the voice acting, they did all of the body movements for the characters as well with mo-cap. :) when he started talking about Sunny at the end was so heartwarming
It should’ve won game of the year to ER doesn’t have a fucking story to it. If it does it’s you have to puzzle it together I , especially no game of the year you shouldnt have the puzzle a story together to understand it. Fuck that God of war was completely 150% robbed of this.
Christopher is one of the most underrated actors of the last twenty years, he deserves this award! He was one of the biggest driving forces behind Stargate, not only for truly realistic performance of someone who has to not only stay himself but learn a whole new world and culture, he also did a ton of work behind the scenes. I'm a fan for life, congratulations Mr. Judge you deserve it!
@@carlosvarona220he was so good in Stargate. Should have won an award for that performance as well. We probably would have had the show been more mainstream. & less conspiracy theory/sci fi/aliens But I wouldn’t have liked it as much if they did that so I’m glad they didn’t, just sad they didn’t recognize his outstanding performance/contribution to Stargate sg1. Richard Anderson also did a heck of job. His little random & clever jokes here & there throughout the series really helped to spice up the show & make it much more entertaining to watch. Anderson & Judge imo brought the most entertainment potential to the show with Anderson/O’Neil bringing in some much needed humor/spice to the series & Judge/teal’c barely talking but when he did it was always something funny & short & his “indeed” & eyebrow raising when O’Neil was doing some questionable action. Shit had me dead. Tapping/Sam carter & Shanks/ Daniel Jackson were both solid /good additions that when combined with the other two, they made a pretty great 4 person core/team/roster of lead actors. Many of the supporting actors were good to, I liked Davis/Hammond a lot, I like whoever plays Vala a lot too. Hewlett I have mixed emotions about, he might be a good actor but something about his character I just hated on both SG1 & Atlantis. He (Hewlett’s character McKay,) was so big-headed, egotistical, cocky, selfish, arrogant, petty, childish, immature, & many times just straight up annoying.
TC Carson was the voice I always remember for Kratos. I'll always remember the rage filled yells he gave. But the instant I heard Christopher Judge's version, I felt it was perfect for the older Kratos who was done with his vengeance, done with war and fighting. A Kratos who just wanted to be left alone with his family. He deserves this and so much more
@@disgaealikerasapOG Carson mentioned he didn't get the role because his physique needed for mocap didn't match older Kratos as opposed to Judge. They're both awesome actors though. TC Carson played an amazing younger Kratos, and if it was just the voice could have encompassed an awesome older Kratos as well.
Still my favourite video game director of all time (despite me not caring for Death Stranding personally) but he's got too much of a hard on for Hollywood actors :/
Krato’s journey has been so emotional and Chris taking on the role after the third game is such a big undertaking and he does it brilliantly. The coolest voice in gaming today
“My brother…. Who is my hero… At 40, changed his life and went to medical school, and is now Dr. Judge” So much power in those words… brought a tear to my eye and made me think of my own brother. So glad Chris won.
I love Christopher Judge so much. Ragnarok is one of my all-time favorite games, and Judge not only knocks it out of the park as Kratos, but he just seems like such a good dude.
I haven't finished the game, but from my experience in God of War 4 and Ragnarok I had no doubt that he would at least be on the top nominated. The amount of dialogue there is all written so well with so much passion in there voices is so good
You know you were damn good when Pacino is congratulating you on your acting. Congratulations Christopher, and thank you for your god tier performance!
I’m really proud of Christopher Judge, he’s always been an excellent performer and extremely talented actor, it’s taken excellent work since the mid 90s for anyone to notice. Better late than never, but this man has been showing his top-tier talent since even season one of an old show called Stargate SG-1.
He nailed it! Actually, the game had a LOT of stellar work on it. Hoping to see more of the newer voice actors too (e.g., SungWon Cho) because everyone in that game did a fantastic job and I hope they all find success going forward.
"in your lifetimes has anyone ever worshiped you? Ever prayed to you? Can you even imagine that kind of love?" -Odin Mimir: "What did you see in there brother" "A path... One I had never imagined"
kratos: "i..............i saw myself" i got soo emotional seeing a broken god being praised by nine realms i had same reaction as kratos when it happened
Kratos wins as the best voice. Congrats to Christopher Judge. EDIT: Elden Ring won as GAME OF THE YEAR. Quantity over quality. Humanity is just like Zeus and Odin. At least God of War won more awards that that sleepy slug-fest.
I think it's more than just voice acting. This game shows a story that is just as true in real life as it is fictional. It depicts a story between a father and a son. Seeing those characters grow and developpe into something ''better'' is amazing in a lot of ways. It's inspiring to say the least. I think what Christopher is feeling is totally appreciated. He seems grateful to be a part of something great that the fans can not only relate to, but actually experience it. I feel like not a lot of things are allowing this type interaction. It must be truly a blessing to be in that position.
I never cared about these award shows but I just had to go and vote for this man after he got me bawling my eyes out with his performance. Absolutely well deserved.
Same, but it is heartwarming to see people in the industry being recognized like this. Im sure Al Pacino was just cashing a check, but having him give you that award and sincerely congratulate you is as meaningful as it gets.
He deserved it so much, he put his heart and soul into this character, and made something iconic again. Congrats Christopher Judge and hope for many more great things in the future.
What's even crazier is that i just found out Chris Judge also voices D Mob from Def Jam Fight 4 NY. From Stargate to GOW.Chris deserves all the respect for all that he's accomplished.
Saw Judge recently in Dark Knight Rises as one of Bane’s henchmen 🤣 he actually gets a big part in a scene near the end where he beats up the ‘Robin’ character in that movie
@@kingc1331 a boring old man? This current kratos has so much more in depth writing than the past kratos, this current kratos has more knowledge, more relatability to fathers and older people, smarter, and is much more of a man than past kratos. Last kratos driven by pure rage and revenge was almost a 1D character if not for the fact he still had sadness and regret for killing his family, but he was much more quick to anger, and more easy to be deceived, if it involved his wife and daughter. It was almost not worth it seeing as your comment had to have been satire seeing as anyone with a brain would understand the superiority current kratos has over past kratos.
Kratos calling his son "boy" was such a meme in the first game, and in Ragnarok that's the ONLY time he does it. They saved it for the perfect dramatic moment, when their relationship was at their most strained
The fact that Christopher won is already a great feeling in and of itself, but seeing him presented by the legendary Al Pacino himself gave it a whole new level of awesome for me.
His line on 8:24 hitted me hard. As a gamer since being a kid, one of my dreams is to see my name on the end credits (until now) and be proud that I'm one of those of people who made something that was greatly appreciated by many.
I'm impressed with the humbleness that he expresses towards his dearest ones for their gratitude. UA-cam addiction has fried my brain to the point I don't tend to watch videos more than 5 minutes but I'm moved upon hearing his speech. It's not always you come across this gem on the internet. Every moment of this video is beautiful.
I am absolutely happy Chris won it. He deserves it. Such down to earth guy. All that was missing him calling Sunny to stage with his iconic "BOY". I think that he should have shared the trophy with Sunny, he seemed kinda sad he didn't win and they both were integral for eachother's performance.
The end of the game cemented him as Kratos in my mind. What a phenomenal performance, what an actor, and what a man. Congratulations, Christopher Judge.
@@chrisandreas3142 i agree with you. Dont understand whats wrong with all these fanboys, the story and combat system is worse than gow 2018.
