WARNING DO NOT BUY FROM KBO I HAVE THE RANGER 8MO OLD 160+ MILES AND ITS BROKE IN GARAGE. KBO WILL NOT HONOR WARRANTY. IVE BEGGED THESE PEOPLE. THEY KNOW THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO NOW THAT ITS 8MO OLD SO IM SCREWED!! DO NOT BUY FROM KBO IM WARNING YOU GOD LISTEN
i have a radrunner 2 ($1799) and i LOVE it. cargo style is so convenient. i use it every single day the weather allows (and some crappy weather too) it was the BEST purchase i have made in years.
I have more experience with KBO customer service than I'd like, to be honest. First off, I love this bike. I've put somewhere around 500 miles on it. I ordered the bike May 20 and it shipped super fast, delivered on the 31st. I was impressed. The accessories, not so much. I finally got the rear fence this week (2 months later) but am still waiting for the front rack I ordered. I understand there are supply chain issues, but it's still disappointing. My biggest issue is the original display malfunctioned on the first day I had it. I was disappointed that they still required a $99 refundable deposit to send me a new display. I let them know that didn't seem appropriate but they didn't budge. It took weeks for the replacement display to ship, but thankfully that one is working just fine. I've exchanged a number of emails and a few phone calls with KBO. Everyone has been nice and they're generally responsive but beware of trying to address multiple concerns with them at the same time. A couple of my messages has only half of the questions I brought up answered. Again, I really enjoy this bike. My 6yo loves riding on it, as well. I don't have any regrets and would still recommend it.
Seems to be a fairly well thought-out bike, and looks a bit like a mini RadWagon! I like it. Nice battery capacity, strong looking racks, and that controller mounting position protects the unit while still allowing for cooling airflow. I'm afraid the battery position rules out a deflopilator. The motor probably peaks at 1000 to 1100 watts, while Rad strictly limits theirs to only 750 watts period, so there will be a performance difference. As for the Tannus inserts; I have them on my RadMini, and they greatly increase high speed safety by keeping the tire in better contact with the pavement. However, the tubes that I purchased with my Tannus inserts had a 100% failure rate. One went flat while the bike was sitting in my car, its replacement went flat while parked during a photo shoot with a video camera rolling, and the third tube went flat during a group ride with 60 people. The one thing in common? No punctures. All three tubes failed due to defects, and after I was accused of damaging the first one (and grudgingly sent a replacement), I did not bother trying to get replacements for the others.
Nice job as always, Ryan. Very smart to make a step thru cargo e bike, it would be difficult to swing your leg over the cargo you may be carrying back there.
If your testing a CARGO bike, load the bike up with groceries and test it going around corners, how is its balance going around corners? can it accelerate OK or go uphill with a load of groceries? What's its range like with a load of groceries?
Can ya'll help me with a baby seat. It has been so hard to find a resource with the info I'm looking for. I tried the ibert by zazam, which did not fit. I also, tried the Thule mini and it barely fit. I want to try the maxi, but I'm reaching out because I'm so frustrated and KBO said they can't recommend a seat. Thanks!
Hi Ryan, I've been watching your videos for a while now nice job! Question for the KBO Ranger: I am 6' tall with a 11.5 shoe size and like you, I haul kid(s). Generally I ride leveraging the front of my feet/toes on the pedals to build calf muscles. Considering these points, have you had any issues striking the rear running board platform step with the heel of your foot while pedaling?
I have a question? Do you know where I can purchase the same LCD m5 display that the kbo has? The same expect one? I’ve broken mines and kbo doesn’t even carry or sale that at all.
The M5 display is a very common display, so I imagine eBay, AliExpress, or even Amazon. You will need to adjust some of the settings internally (voltage, amperage, wheel size, etc...), but you should be able to get one to work pretty easily. I assume you reached out to KBO, and they were not able to help you?
I'm a big fan of your page I follow all your videos on electric bikes, I would like you to really advise me on my dream and to buy one and be a delivery person, which one would you advise me? I don't know what to choose and I'm afraid of spending my savings and ending up with a bike that won't really be able to do the job! Help me please. THANKS
@@EbikeEscape front load as in something like the Thule Yepp Mini, I have a 1yo that I would like harnessed in the front and have an older child riding in the back. Thanks for the reply btw.
Lectric Premium has a mid-drive for $1800 a better drive Plus $150 for cargo package of front and rear trays & baskets. Looks like this uses the same 4-bolt pattern for front tray/basket as the Lectric bikes, and the same display as Lectric, and looks like the same underhung battery form-factor as Lectric Premium. vs this with a hub-drive for $1700 Lectric Premium is better drivetrain, but this has better carrying baskets and setup for safely carrying a rear passenger, I would never carry a rear passenger on the rear tray of the Premium without this bikes feet protection. Also you can buy this now, Lectric Premium hasn't shipped yet except early testers, orders supposed to come in this August
@@cometcal2 hub motor-drives don’t last near as long as mid-drive motor drives, but also generally start at $2500. The Lectric Premium will be the cheapest 48V 750W mid-drive when it comes out.
DUDE TRY GETTING ONE FIXED. MINES 8MO OLD AND KBO WILL NOT HONOR WARRANTY IM NOW OUT $1599+ IM WARNING YOU GUYS. KBO WILL NOT!!! FIX UR BIKE IF IT BREAKS DOWN.
KBO is little more than an Asian shadow company. That continue to advertise bikes that they can not deliver for months. Do ahead and order one. If you have the money to wait months for delivery.
why do you continue to advertise a product that you can not deliver. And why do you charge a persons card a month or two before you can deliver a product. It used to be standard business practice to hold the card but not charge it until it is shipped. But of course that allowed people to easily cancel orders after waiting weeks or months. When I purchased a Ranger in July it was promised in mid August. Now it is late August will is soon be September? But there are sufficient quantities to provide them to paid reviewers and advertisers. A simple not available at this time on the web site. Would save disabled people like myself on fixed incomes. The pain of not having transportation. And having to do without a product that they purchased. While having to make payments on their card while construing interest.
@@MrAnastasiacox1 I think their main problem is with the ranger. After waiting two months and another delay notice. I got politely nasty. The bike was shipped two days later. It took another r-mail and a month to get my mirrors. And it has been six months and I still have not received my front basket.
He does not bade well I'm just trying to replace a stolen e-bike that works wonderfully. Based on the reviews I've seen for this bike I decided to go with it but their customer service seems to be lacking desperately

Right, it’s impossible for these folks to actually review these bikes in proper use case scenarios.
Good video. I am not sold. Maybe next year.
Another great review, thanks for the kid related tips I'm considering this bike and appreciate this review, look forward to the next one

I personally did not notice anything but it's not something I would usually pay extra close attention to. I wear a size 10 if that helps.
How can I get the back rack and the front rack pl
How long is the back rack?

Front Loaded? Not sure what you mean by that.
However we love our Thule Yepp Maxi seat and our Kids Ride Shotgun seats.

KBO comes from the same factory as Himiway. Talking about Himiway, review of the Big Dog soon? 🙂 Thanks for all your videos!
That is one on our short list.
