I think it's wild that Portia still insists that "love in marriage is a fairy tale" when Phillipa & Mr. Finch are clearly head over heels for each other. Ya, they're both silly and dense, but you can't tell me they aren't in love lol. And they've been happily so for close to a year, at this point so.... are you blind, Portia???
Look, Lord Debling is looking for a happy match. If his wife turns out to be hopelessly in love with someone else, that does NOT bode well for a happy marriage, not even slightly! It is grossly unfair to the both himself and Penelope, as well as (it turns out) Colin. He is being more than reasonable. I saw a video essay about this sex scene, which analyzed all kinds of wonderful details--like the fact Colin is so affection starved he MELTED when Pen touched him, that he got her consent, that he seemed so disoriented even though he was the one giving not receiving, that what makes this so powerful is that she was utterly certain NOTHING like this was in the realm of the possible, that he began this scene by literally getting on his knees, etc. This is actually one of the longest sex scenes in the series, according to someone who went and timed such things (which just shows how crazy some of us fans are). Plus Colin is a very unusual young man of his class in this era--because he WANTED to get married, has wanted it for years.
I had a lot of emotion watching this it was so much fun.. 😊 I'm surprised how much is a carriage senior kept and the tears at the love confession! 😁♥️ I'm glad you guys like this episode. I interpreted appropriate compliments to Cressida sleeves and the Queen's wigs😂😭 eyes were WIDE OPEN💗

It’s because Portia saw herself in Penelope. Everything she didn’t believe for herself, she didn’t believe for Penelope either.
memes about Colin's revelry is so funny. like, What's wrong dear you barely touched your sex workers
