dude oh my days i just found this yesterday and i recently got into marble hornets a few weeks ago. i wish you could’ve seen my reaction to this animatic bc i was freaking the hell out over how good everything fits like. the line ‘she tells me that it’s nothing, i really hope it’s nothing,’ and you using the scene where jay tries to get the tape from tim?? oh my lorddd that fit so well because jay during that entry was all like ‘i just wanna talk just wanna talk,’ and then attacks tim LMFAO. also the ‘i know you’re gonna kill me,’ transitioning into the tim and alex fight just worked So Well. AND ALL THE TRANSITIONS oh my lord. jay and tim going in for a kiss(?) transitioning into tim coughing up blood during the alex and tim fight. THE TRANSITION TO ENTRY #72 DUDE. them holding hands transitioning into tim trying to get jay up and move and freaking out ughhh so good. also i don’t know how to explain this well, but the end obv a few months pass before the last entry and tim and jess r both trying to move on. the way jess asks about jay, and for the rest of the animatic jays name plastered in the background over and over again. idek how to describe how good that is or why it’s so good but it’s so good. also oh my days i didn’t even notice during my first watch but tim at the end slinging his arm over the bed to hold jays hand like they used to in the motels, and jay’s silhouette hand being there ughfhejk so freaking good dude this is so phenomenal. also the false nightmare pulled at my heart bruh. tim freaking out then coming to and jay being there and going in for a hug and then he’s Gone. its like you wanna break me or something also just the obvious crushing between the two but it’s such a bad situation that everything they do is left unsaid between them bc obviously neither of them want to address their feelings. just the shy side glances and looking away and being standoffish when the other glances back. them just sharing comfortable silence as they lay down on separate beds looking at each other, the grazing of their fingers and tim actually going in to hold jay’s hand. Holy crap this is amazing. I've rewatched it a few times now, pausing quite often just to see single frames because you added so much detail and expression and emotion into every single one. The art and the song just go so well together. This animatic was so painful but I mean that it in the best way possible. And the entire background filled up with Jay's name near the end was a heartbreakingly fantastic touch
Tech here! Two things 1. I had just finished marble hornets and I’m so glad I saw you talking about it as I loved it to bits, definitely a 7/10 series although some of it was repetitive. I especially loved the Hotel arc, it was just a nice break in a way and it was the first tike anything slender man, or the observer related actually scared me and made me nervous 2. I love this animatic just like all your others. I’m so glad I re-found you and actually started to talk to you since the last time I actually knew who you were I wasn’t even a teenager yet. But yeah! Incredible animation, I will be watching your channel with great eyes!
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!! It's really the little details/polish I really want to call out here. The way the text is handdrawn to fit the tone of the song, neat and friendly in the beginning, then intense and scratchy as the music escalates AHH. Love the touch of the red backgrounds/pops of emphasis too, it's incredibly effective in boosting the emotion! And of course these shots are well put together/timed, and the character design is great! I love these likenesses. Well done!! 👏
