What If All Pokémon Were Dual Typed? (Unova)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 вер 2024
- The Pokémon of the Unova region vary greatly in design and inspiration (at least from each other, if not all the other generations) but a plurality of them are in fact just one type. That alone is not an offense, however let's just see if we could assign them more types in a believable manner without delving into regional variant category...

It's spelled awesome bro
@@HowManySmall autocorrect strikes back!
Arduino getting the fairy typing if it was in Unova with a good idea also I love is Mega Evolution but yeah Meloetta adore typing to regular typing would fairy psychic and her fighting form would be Rock fighting form and there was the art her having a Radiance formed ice fairy
Super effective and critical hit
He really fumbled the bag with Samurott. Even if you want to use the “oh its shell is strong so make it steel” thinking with Samurott, it’s literally a full SAMURAI. Like it’s even in the name. Easily should be a fighting type. I expected better bro. But otherwise quality gideo
Edit: also tynamo line should be water bc it’s an electric EEL which lives in the OCEAN
I've always felt like the Patrat line could be part psychic. those eyes are made for hypnotising!
I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment.
That’s what I said lol
Or dark
If you count the nincada line, there has been an evolutionary line that has a different secondary type for each Pokémon
Nincada-Bug/Ground
Ninjask-Bug/Flying
Shedinja-Bug/Ghost
I do think it fits the timburr line though
Surskit too but that is just two Pokémon
I'd say Nincada doesn't count, because Shedinja isn't an evolution, rather just a Pokémon spawned by another Pokémon.
@@CyberchaoX But they all don't have the same primary typing.
@@Thepenguinking2 If you breed a Shedinja with a Ditto, you get a Nincada, so it's counted as an evolution.
For Eelektross' line, Electric/Water would make more sense. Not because it's an eel (I think a floating, land based eel is a great concept) but because it's dex directly mentions it crawling onto shore and dragging prey into the waters.
Sure, but we have Water dwelling mons that aren't water type either (Stunfisk, both Hoenn fossils, Lugia).
honestly while it has eel in its name and has electric powers like some eels, it looks a lot more like lampreys
@@nickdentoom1173 but they should be
@@nickdentoom1173 imo the fossiles didn’t have the rock type back then and were part water. We do have The new squid Pokémon that we even see swim in the water but it’s a pure fighting type
@@nickdentoom1173 Late response but they're all dual typed already. If they could have a 3rd typing, they'd definitely be Water.

Would the Magikarp line count, since it’s water type, gyrados is water/flying and the mega is water/dark?
I like how the timburr line’s new typing reflects the swords of justice
Oh my, I didn't even realize that when I was making it. That is really cool!
A Gen 5 pokémon: "exists"
Emperor Cubone: doesn't it make you a *STEEL TYPE* ?
suggestion: give Simisage, Simisear and Simipour the Dark type
These monkeys are based on the three wise monkeys like their pre evolutions, however, unlike them, the evolved forms also represent those who swayed off the path, for these monkeys FAILED to do what they've sworn to never do: Simisage is rude and very ill-tempered, thus speaking evil; Simisear has elements of a biker in his design, and bikers make a LOT of loud noise, thus hearing evil; and Simipour is based on japanese fashion trends (I think they're called Gyaru?) that are very colorful and "shouting", which could imply as seeing evil?
basically, the Simis have lost their path and even went against it, thus needing the Dark type
p.s. if Simisage was given the Dark type because he became rude, then perhaps Zarude is simply an EXTREMELY evil Simisage, so rude it became his trademark, THE rude
I think this is a little contrived but it's very clever!
@Oliver Hees yeah it's a little contrived but makes sense!
Taking what you said about the wise monkeys I bet psychic could work too
Very interesting! This would have made the monkeys much better
I must say, I like the monkeys just how they are now (in fact, Simisear is my favorite Fire type!), but had they been given the Dark type it'd be incredible
Fun fact: Your typings for the Timburr line happen to line up with the Swords of Justice in this same gen.
Then would there be a Water/Fighting type Mega Conkeldurr?
@@glowstonelovepad9294 water bender
The simis should have the dark type added to them to further hint at their origins of the three wise monkeys which failed to “Speak no Evil”, “Hear no Evil” and “See no Evil”, the babies could prolly stay as monotype tho lol

That's pretty cool
I'm actually all for Garbodor becoming part steel typed. I've always imagined that if it were to get a mega evolution or regional form of some sort in the future that the steel type would work pretty well with them. Heck, Garbodor can now learn the steel type attack, metal claw!

the lillipup line also has the sand rush ability, that is very ground type
Very true! Now it might not be so random...
Water-type kinda fits lillipup line, cuz of 'dex entries. Well ice water stoutland regional variant could exist

@@lipika2841 wit really?
@@emperorcubone Actually, that one makes more sense when you know the Japanese named for that ability is "Sand Paddle". In other words, the Lillipup line has it because they're dogs, so they do the doggy paddle. Yep. It's a pun.
Patrat should be Normal/Ground, as its skirmish and hides to scout around, but Watchog should be Normal/Psychic- its able to light up its yellow stripes, so I think psychic is a better fit.
The Lillipup line should become Normal/Fighting- I mean, Herdier and Stoutland are tough guard dogs. They should def. be part Fighting- maybe Fairy type for Lillipup though.
Wait, the Stoutland line are guard dogs. I thought they were rescue dogs like Saint Bernards

Technically the Nincada line falls under the description of different type for each stage.
Nincada: Bug/Ground
Ninjask: Bug/Flying
Shedinja: Bug/Ghost
Actually for tepig ground would make sense,a lot of pigs like mud and dig for truffles
Nincada’s family line has different second types for each member. It’s not a three-stage family but it still has 3 members :)
11:46 who's to say the dishes aren't made of metal?
the pokedex specifically states that those are icicles...
Want to know who fits Steel more than Vanilluxe
Beartic, the Sword dex entry says its icy fangs and claws are harder than steel
And yet can’t learn Metal Claw
I think Emboar's line, as a whole, should be Fire/Ground. I could certainly see them living in a heat struck savanna, and it'd be unique, for a starter at least. It's barely got any Fighting moves anyway.
Agreed, and it would have saved it from the fatigue of being the 3rd Fighting type in a row...
I think Emboar fits the fire/fighting though, even more then blaziken
Blaziken here is just based on a cockfighting chicken, whereas Emboar is based on both the pig demon Zhu Bajie from Journey to the West (the same novel to which Sun Wukong, Infernape's main origin, belongs) and Zhang Fei, a Chinese military warlord from 3rd century China.
so what I'm saying is Blaziken is the LEAST fighting type of the trio of Fire/Fighters
@@resurrekt7114 That's fair

"Try to ignore how I say the last word in every sentence in a weirdly deep voice and give this video 3 *STOHRRS* "
One of the things they set out to do in Unova was release a new single-typed Pokemon for each type, which I think is super cool. That said I can't wait to see how they shake out
I don't know if I've ever heard that before, but they certainly accomplished their goal!
The Timburr lines new typings would also mimic the swords of justice! Perfect.
After so many years of the same intro and picture. You switched it up lol. I love your dual type ideas
I mean... I use different intros all the time. Just check any video about Sinnoh...
Ok, hear me out; What if the Gigalith line was Rock/Fire? They collect the energy of the sun in their crystals, and I’d imagine then they’d be pretty dang hot.
Edit; They also look fairly Volcanic in appearance.
Please no it would destroy Gigalith.
This combination is hard to do right on a Pokémon because Rock is more physical attacker and fire is more special attacker so you decide one of them.
Because this combo is so fragil the Pokémon should be a sweaper and Gigalith is one of the slowest Pokémon in the games.
That's why I think Coalossal's ability should give him a immunity towards water and if he gets hit by one his speed increases similar to abilities like Sap Sipper, Lightning Rod, Water Absorb, you know the deal.
Get hit by attack of a specific type, instead of taking damage get a benefit from it!
:-)
@@cannabishornliu6119 Yeah, on second thought….. You’re right.
@@cannabishornliu6119 Wait… What if it was Rock/Steel? It would be quite useful as a physical wall. The 4x Fighting weakness would be a bit dangerous but in exchange you would lose lots of other weaknesses. Also, the only viable special fighting move is focus blast. And we all know how accurate that is.
@@cannabishornliu6119 You might be right, but viability and PvP aside, I'd say it makes sense.
@@methatswho6299
Yeah why not!
But I think Gigalith is better as a mono type and should stay so.
:-)
In terms of other Pokémon...
We have still way to many bland Normal types that should benefit from type combinations or type replacements!
For example (even it's a bit stretched) Buneary and Lopunny could be mono Fairy type or Fairy-Normal making Mega Lopunny one of the only Fairy Fighting types in the game.
Or the Porygon line.
As long as the "Digital" type doesn't exist it's a shame that they are still not Psychic type like Psychic-Normal!
And with the evolution to Porygon-Z it looses his Normal type completely for a sweet Electric type making Porygon-Z at least a bit more necessary and interesting because technical Porygon2 with an Eviolite is miles better than its evolution.
With the new typing Porygon-Z will stand out a bit better!
:-)
I think samurott fits fighting better especially when it can learn revenge, rock smash, superpower, detect and sacred sword.
Its a no brainer for samurott to being fighting.
@Sean Simon LuRes how. Fighting's the one that suits it more objectively
@Sean Simon LuRes seems legit
I am so happy zebstrika is dark type. They are so cool. I wish they galvanize to make them more viable

Hey no galvanize Stephan strategy will fail against ash
Gigalith could - hear me out - Be a fire type. Beecause it gets different colors in the sun according to the Pokédex entries. Idk it's just mire interesting imo
@Decoy I just think it's more interesting than another Rock/Ground type
I would make Fraxure the Rock type so it’s a cool transition into harder and harder types.
I gave Fraxure the Kommo-o treatment and made the line a Dragon-Fighting type Pokémon.
Haxorus axes are a pretty deadly weapon after all.
I have commented on the previous 2 entries in this series, pointing out the over abundance of Ground types but now that he is acknowledging the comments I have realised are so many pokemon ground type cuz of CUBONE being one?????
BUT THAT'S JUST A THEORY!.... A GAME THEORY
It's hard to say where it starts; do I love the Ground type because Cubone is one, or do I love Cubone for being a Ground type? It's like the Torchic and the egg...
@@emperorcubone Are you aware of this meme?
Pokémon: Walks in the ground

IMO Beartic should be Ice/ Water. Polar Bears spentes lots of time in the water (like when they have to swim miles when the ice melts in the summer). Their hidden ability is Swift Swim, and learn some level up water moves: Aqua Jet and Brine (and some by TM, and TR)
Imagine the impact in the competitive scene as has the highest Attack Stat out all Swift Swim users (not counting Mega-Swampert) the STAB would make Aqua Jet and Liquidation deadly even hitting neutral
50 Speed isn’t really bad with Swift Swin anyway, still faster than Dragapult and Zacian
I made the calculations (Assuming Beartic is Ice/Water)
Beartic Swift Swin Life Orb/Jolly/252 ATK Liquidation
vs Adamant/4 HP/0 DEF Crowned Zacian
GUARANTEED OHKO (Jolly Zacian has the same result)
Beartic should be Ice/Water because it learns water moves and it gets swift swim.Cubchoo can stay Ice/Normal since I dont think it has enough water type qualities except its snot-thing
I also think the Haxorus line should be dragon/fighting because they have axes on their faces which are weapons for battling but having dragon/steel on my favorite gen 5 pokemon is really cool
I like to give bear-like Pokèmon always the Fighting-type.
Beartic would be Ice-Fighting two generation before the cursed Crabominable!
Also I give (fully evolved) horse-like Pokémon always the ground-type!
So Zebstriks would be Electric-Ground!
@Decoy
In my opinion every bear pokemon should get the fighting type in its final evolution.
Also every horse or horse-like pokémon should get the ground type in its final evolution if the first stage was a mono type.
For example
Rapidash = Fire-Ground
Zebstrika = Electric-Ground
I know how you feel with your Cofagrigus-like Fakémon. I made an Electric/Grass Lawnmower poltergeist in 2007.
@@suboying608 Look if it’ll help you believe me it was a version exclusive, with the other being a Fighting/Normal landscaper goblin. In the region they’re from, one uses the other to do yard work, helping people out with domestic jobs the same way Machoke do at the start of R/S/E.

The regional monkeys would fit with Dark (or ironic Fairy) type, actually. consider their inspiration of the Three Wise Monkeys with "See/Hear/Do No Evil", and the relatively high number of Dark moves they learn.
Hang on scratch the timburr line the type change would be cool i agree but what if there were just three forms the timber form gurdurr form and pillar form so concelldurr having the potential to have either of those. Yeah confusing I agree but how cool would it be
They really should have given the goths either dark or ghost type, like I know they're supposed to be counterparts for the ralts line but still they could have been dual types.also also as I saw somewhere that the herdier line is used for mareep, ground would actually really help with that
Half dragon contrary sepererior would be awesome with Draco meteor giving boost instead of drops as well as leaf storm
Tynamo line definitely needs to be a water type, it’s a small fish and two eels.
