Yamamoto's goal for his rookie year would be to avoid big injuries. Dodgers should have a 6 man rotation during the regular season. As an addition, they could have bullpen days or days to try out pitchers who are in good in the minors if necessary. They must win, but they need to know excessive winning doesn't mean anything in regular season.
@@mikie5thgenss450yah I mean it's not ideal... Money won't be an issue. Sasaki doesn't want to play for any other organization 😂 so there's that. The Dodgers have been scouting him since high school. He's going to bleed blue whether you like it or not 💙💪🏽
Eh don’t forget the injuries to our pitchers we had plus losing Urias to domestic assault and they Still did that. If not for getting cold in the playoffs they were a decent team and just added Major major pieces for this year. Most of our pitchers are slated to come back by early season. We will be stacked and have Much much needed depth
The expectations are obviously there. The question is is if the entire team's commitment is there. Can Mookie get out from his postseason slumps? Can the pitching just stay healthy FFS. But I also question the back end of the bullpen.
Of course Mookie will recover from that short slump. He's MVP material, AGAIN. Can the pitching staff stay healthy? You have a Chrystal ball? Back end of the bullpin. You never know, and who sez the Dodgers are finished acquiring more talent?
Yah as a lifelong dodger fan.. not having that closer spot sured up definitely bothers me. Outside of Graterol, Phillips and (albeit surprising) joe Kelly.... There's WAY too many question marks. Hell, the three above have blown games as well. Ever since Jansen left, we have had a question mark for late game save situations. Too bad we can't turn back the clock and have Gagne on this team. 😅 I took his saves for granted as a young fan. Hahaha
When I was a kid, Commissioner Bowie Kuhn stepped in and voided ( if memory serves ) 2 trades that would have sent 3 players from the 3 time champ Oakland A's. I don't understand how MLB allowed Ohtani's ridiculous contract deferral.
Dodgers had the worse starting pitching ERA of any Dodger team ever they still managed to win 100 games this Years pitching staff is way better and they also added that Othani guy I hear he’s an ok Player lol Let’s Go Dodgers
Ohtani is certainly a huge plus to the Dodger offense. Teoscar isn't really that big of one. Heyward was a solid performer last year. He had a better OPS+ than Teoscar in 2023 (117-106). Teoscar's upside is certainly better than Jason's but in terms of upgrading from 2023, not huge. The other big difference that no one seems to.mention is SS. Lux is going to bring a significant offensive upgrade from last year. Rojas is not a benefit to any offense. While Lux batting 9th with his 346 OBP in 2022 is going to set up Betts and company rather nicely. This is going to be fun to watch. Go Mets.
I really have a totally different vibe about this Dodger team. Last year they were exciting, sure. But this club…I really think with Freddie and Teo hitting behind Shohei,he is totally capable of hitting 80 Homeruns. And I am dead serious. They’re gonna have to pitch to Ohtani.
Ohtani, Yamamoto, Glasgow, Betts, Freeman, Lux, Muncy, Heyward, Hernandez, Smith, Taylor, Outman, Friedman, Gomes, Roberts . . . . Pls do not hate them, hate the Game . . . ❤😊😂🎉😮
These are the same guys when Ohtani was coming on the scene from Japan, that implied that Ohtani had some other mixed race in him, because of how large his frame was and that he couldn’t be fully Asian. Let’s be honest guys, you don’t do any real journalism of these guys coming out Japan and you lack credibility with Yamamoto too.
They payed him 325 million dollars, ace money, he better be an ace, as for the stats those are Japan not in the MLB. His stuff as well doesn't necessarily or "equate to" success in the MLB, these are pro hitters and the hardest level of baseball competition
I think this is an antiquated view, not just in Baseball but all sports in general. There is a lot more money, focus, and high quality play and training overseas.l then there used to be. There haven’t been a lot of Japanese flops in the MLB. People need to rethink how they look at American dominance in American sports. Take the NBA for example. Some pundits and fans try to fight against the idea that Europeans are starting to become a major force in the game. Football is seeing more and more Hispanic and Asian players at the highest levels. The reverse is true too. The soccer world needs to watch out because American players are popping up in top European club lineups more and more. It’s beautiful to see. Every game should be the world’s game.
