I read that to bring your car is a hassle. You may need a international driving license? How about insurance? Mexican insurance? Daily fee to drive in mexico? Exit requirements to leave mexico with your car? Do you have to change the tags? Return tags when returning? Cost of insurance for the average used car?
Good video bro you explained it in a way easier to understand. Out of all the video I’ve seen on the topic you simply said “car status is tied to visa status...” nuff said and that says it best
What do you think about just buying a car in Mexico with MX plates instead of driving around with Nevada plates? Aren't you required to bring your American car back out of Mexico every 6 months?
+Scott C. Actually, that's a great way to go about it, especially for people who don't want to drive or ship their car. Either way is an option. Your car registration is tied to your immigration status so if you're good, your car is good and there is no need to bring your car out of country every 180 days. I have always flown out of Mexico to renew my visa and that renews my car as well.. But buying a car here is an easy option if you don't need to get financing. You can blend in a little better with Mexican plates as well, which is always a good thing. I get stopped every once in a while and end up paying a "gringo tax" of 200 pesos. Lol... it's all good though.
I am living in Guatemala and moving up to Mexico tomorrow, my GF is coming up a few weeks after me and we are hoping to bring her car up with us. Any idea if this is harder or different since the car is entering from the southern border or bc it has Guatemalan plates and not US or Canada?
What did they require from you at the Mexican border checkpoint in order to bring your dog into Mexico ? Thinking about riding my bull terrier down there with me.
+Jose Chimal Hahahaa... Exactly! They are crazy. I hit one at dusk in northern Mexico - I swear it was unmarked - both my dog and I hit the roof of the car and I saw sparks in my rear view mirror. I'm so grateful my car hung together. You see many people with broken axles right after the speed bumps.
I have a car, I brought to mexico I am now a resident, I was able to get plates by paying this company in san luis potosi for "legalizing" I got a pendimento (customs papers) and I had to give my vin copy of the title, and about a week later they got it to me, I went down the the secretaria de finanzes they had to send it to a special department to verify documents because of potential fraud, everything went throught took 10 days got plates.
What company did you use to legalize your car? Im in a similar situation and would love any help. Drove my US car to MExico with a Banjercito but would liek to keep my car here permanently!
Keep in mind that Mexico is a different country . Mexico does not have the nice quality cars that USA has . When crossing the border the immigration officers see your car and like it , they will take it. They will stop you somewhere where people aren’t around and even have you at Gun point it they want to. Even if you have a permit , they will take it or make you sell it . Which is pretty much robbery but Mexico doesn’t give a shit . This happened to me last year . I had a Ford Raptor . I tried going to Mexico city to complain but they didn’t give a shit . I was disrespected in my own country . So if you’re going to live in Mexico, i recommend you purchase a car there .
Hahaha! Mexicans dont have "fine" cars.you stupid fool have you ever traveled in Mexico?..How about mexicans driving toyotas, nissans, mini coopers ,cadillacs, alfa romeos, mercedes benz etc...? That happened to you because probably you were showing off and acting like a big shit, thats what happen to people like you!
Yeah I definitely have friends that own Porsche’s and BMW, Merc, Mini etc... you have a skewed view of how Mexico really is. Sorry that happened to you with your raptor, I’ve heard it happen to other people but I’d be dammed if my car is getting taken away lol
Hi Steve, presumably you post these videos to recruit customers for your business. I intend to live part time in PDC and have a condo down there. I went to your website but there is no information at all which, to be honest, makes one skeptical about signing up. Are you are multi-level marketing system, because as the old saying goes, if it sounds to good to be true....?
Hey Steve how are you man, planning to drive to Cancun Mexico from Kansas City Kansas but , friends and family keep telling me that is very dangerous to drive through some states in Mexico if not all Mexico, zetas dominate the roads, I is that true? I I hope you can help me with this info, thank you in advance!!!
+Hugo Ortiz Sorry I didn't answer - I actually just saw this comment... I apologize. Your deposit on your car should be refundable up to 180 days. Hopefully you were able to get it back. Sorry again for the late answer....
Always ask for 180 days for the tourist visa and TIP, even if you plan to stay a short time. If you didn't specify the amount of time, make sure it wasn't issued for some shorter amount of time such as 30 days.
7 days to drive from Vegas to PDC?😣 I'm thinking of driving my excellent shape, low profile, Prius there with my rescue baby from Vegas to stay as long as possible, up to 6 months after I've established an online job first. But why did it take you 7 days? TIA!
No. The plates must be valid and not expired. Furthermore, you need to have the original copy of your registration, and valid Mexico car insurance. These will be checked when you apply for your temporary import permit (TIP).
Rule#1 don't bring a exotic car into small towns.
Fuck, you think a 2013 bmw is too much?

Is it okay to put the permit sticker on the car in the us instead of mexico?
Can u bring like razors and dirtbikes into Mexico
How about taking a rental car from the USA for a weekend trip in Mexico?
That you cannot do. There is no guarantee that you would ever bring it back. No rental cars allowed across the border.
I got a tip about a company in San Diego that does rentals in the USA for Mexico travel with the rental car. intlcarrentals.com
Plant-Based MD If there is one, that's great. I'm certain that the deposit or hold on the credit card would be astronomical.
@@TheMexicoMinute you can drive a rental car to mexico only when visiting border towns just across the bridge,I ve done it.
My question is : I’m a us citizen and I have a truck in Mexico with Mexican license plates! Can I take my truck into the United States 🇺🇸????

Yes just you have to have current registration and buy auto insurance.

hello , im thinking of driving my pickup down to mexico do i need to get permission from my lender ?
Did you get any info I want to drive my truck but I still paying for it
What about tint regulations?
Don’t get them to dark not because they’re illegal but because u look suspicious and will cause attention to yourself
Wrong wrong wrong. Your car has a permission that is NOT TIED TO YOUR VISA STATUS! You need to EXIT THE COUNTRY WITH THE CAR!
Left out tons of important info. Mexican insurance? Clear title? Zzzzzz
Don't bring a car with a trailer and then sell the trailer in Mexico. Big Mistake! Big Mistake!
Tell me what happened, please
The trailer is tied to the car/truck as far as the import permit is concerned, and both must exit the country at the same time. It's a real pain.
