    Your soaps are beautiful! I have a question, please. How do I ensure the dried flowers will not have a fungus or bacteria on them that will multiply in the soap? I made soaps with sea shells that I washed really well, but just couldn’t bring myself to sell them because I couldn’t convince myself they were sterile. Thank you!

    • @AYSUINAN
      @AYSUINAN  2 роки тому

      Hi! I don't think that dried flowers can cause any bacteria growth on the soap since soaps are antibacterial and sterile naturally. I am not an expert or sell soaps but I enjoy making my soap for the last ten years and I have never seen any harm using dried flowers on them. They do tend to loose their colours after a few days but I like them anyway :)) happy soaping

    What do you mean that you did not pour your soap correctly on the second soap? What happened? And do you always use double boiler to melt your soap? Do you ever use a microwave? I think they are gorgeous ... especially the first one. Also, do you dry your own flowers and can you do a video on that as well?

    • @AYSUINAN
      @AYSUINAN  6 років тому +3

      I mean when you pour the soap try to pour slowly and stay close to the mold and do not move around. Otherwise you can easily damage the first layer and you can not have the result that we want. It's not easy to explain.
      Yes I always use double boiler to melt my soap because I want them to melt as slowly as possible and also I do not like microwaves' principle of working. I am very happy to hear that you liked my soap. I love making soap and trying different techniques and sharing with you.
      I dry my own flowers. I do it in the hot summer days and it takes a few days, I don't know how I can make a video about it because it's such a long process. Easy but takes time. I'll think about it maybe I can make a video about dried herbs like mint ? Technique is the same but takes less time. I'll try.
      Thanks for your lovely comments :))

    • @AYSUINAN

      I choose well dried ones for my soaps because I believe the moisture in flowers makes them go brown quickly 😊🙋

      This soap does not have long storage time because of the organic substances in it. Since I do not add any chemical additives to protect, I make my soap if I'm going to use it in short term.

      Hi,Calendula is the best for me. Maybe you can try rose petals or daisy if you like them.There are lots of flowers around I don't know their name. Just pick them,dry under the sun and make a trial. This is how I make my soaps. I keep trying🙋

    why do you need to spray it with alcohol?

    • @AYSUINAN
      @AYSUINAN  5 років тому +1

      Spraying alcohol breaks up air bubbles and creates a smooth surface.

    • @tammy5926
      @tammy5926 5 років тому +1

      Spraying with alcohol between layers also makes so they do not separate when removed from the mold. Loved the way these turned out. Very pretty.

      Did not happen to me but maybe you can pour a thin layer of melted clear soap first then add petals and then pour the second layer of clear melted soap. In this way you can keep petals in between layers of clear soap base. I hope this helps🙋

    • @AYSUINAN
      @AYSUINAN  6 років тому

      Depends of the quality of flowers and soap base you’ve used. I use it immediately. Do not recommend waiting long time. There is no artificial additives to make shelf life longer in this soap.
