- Casey Putsch has done some "horse tradin" and got his Jabberwocky Viper V10 drivetrain back and decided to get a better Lamborghini Countach replica to potentially put it in. He is also selling a 1997 Dodge Stealth RT Twin Turbo and is open to selling his Countach replica and other drivetrains to help support Genius Garage
Casey has launched his new channel called The Golden Shovel today. You can subscribe to the channel here! @caseysgoldenshovel

Put the V10 in backwards T56 trans in the middle, put a S400 75mm turbo on it and go AWD! Honestly that's my plan except a tube frame 80s dodge truck 😎
Also if you were closer to Minnesota you couldn't keep me away from helping you!
The output shaft of the transmission would be pointed towards the front of the car, so you'd still have to have a driveshaft go back to the rear and then fit a differential. Maybe you could put the driveshaft below the engine but there are probably clearance issues .
@@TorquilMcLeod AWD (all wheel drive) would basically be a Skyline GTR but with the body on backwards, just to over simplify it. I had mocked that same thing up a few years ago with the iron V10, NV4500 and NP203.... Its actually not as bulky as most think and the V10 is around 1 inch longer than an old LA Mopar
Use a 8hp70 4wd version
I'm in the Toledo area but I totally don't know how to work on a Lamborghini with no engine. But seriously, if I had like a ton of money I'd just buy that empty countach in the hopes of getting it to run one day.
I live in Ireland, if I was there I'd be honoured to accept being invited to swing a few spanners with Casey. And do some fundraising or whatever for Genius Garage.
Former supercar owner here. I 100% get the vision of the Countach....no worries of door dings or expensive things breaking. Just drive it and have fun. Some people look down on 'kit cars' but they have never seen the build qualities of the originals. So yea, built it up and get it on the road.
those tillett seats are beautiful. That v10 would require extensive mods to the glass tub of that coutach.... but a short stroke 4.8l ls truck crank in a big bore ls block would give good characteristics for the car with a wacky rev range, and some fancy 180 degree headers would give off a nearly flat plane sound with looks to compliment the car as a whole. It's still an LS which is about the least unique choice, but its common for a reason and a destroker is a rare combo. Nobody likes to build for the high rpm musical glory it seems.
An LS V8 with a flat plane crank kit would be awesome, or a Ford VooDoo flat plane V8 would be awesome too.
I'm in Dayton, couldn't commit loads of time to it but would LOVE to lend a hand here and there
Your video makes this project seem a lot more interesting than the first post about it. Hope you sell it all and get some extra time with the family. If I was local I’d come wrench for you. Whichever way it goes, good luck!
I like that body style of the Countach because it has the round bottom/rockers. Since I live close to your buddy Chris Ardern, I'm pretty much on the other side of the state from you. If I were on your side of Cleveland I would be all over the offer to work at Genius Garage. Keep creating. Keep posting, Casey! Your content is always appreciated.
2:05 “heh heh yEhs” is Casey’s car cowboy catchphrase.
10:00 What about taking the ancillaries off of the engine and going to electric for most of them so they don't need to be driven by the engine?
You've got a lot of space above the transaxle, and if you move them back there that should (hopefully) help with the space at the front of the engine.
We have abnormally similar taste. Lately my obsessions have been Viper GTS's, Lotus Esprit's, and Countach kit cars from the depths of middle America. I'll be ending up with one of those three, or a 944/914 For a V8 Swap from one of my veehickols.
I enjoy your work on the no snob Porsche 944 group as well.
I'm currently building a C5 5.3 Turbo Corvette, an Audi 2.2T AAN powered Ford Ranger, and a Turbo LS Trans Am WS6
Setup the Countach like the Omega using diesel.
I had a 96 3000GTVR4 that received a JDM GTO motor after I popped the stock one. These cars are a blast to own. Wish I had the cash. Great deal there
Casey - you could delete the Power steering pump... and go electric power steering and pick up a bit more space. Might be able to do that with AC as well - or use a smaller compressor.
I'd disagree with that e-pass takes something away from the driving experience there are better one but hydraulic feel is better
Or I could just man up and ditch the PS
Get hold of Cletus McFarland about that Viper rig Casey, it's up his alley. Maybe Steve Morris Engines or Tom Bailey would be interested in it as well.
Man the Prova would be a friggin sweet build.Maybe some sort of roof scoop for the intake.I hope you decide to build it Casey.Im in the UK but if i was local would love to help build that thing
Hope you find a good home for those cars and get to focus on what matters to you. I was also curious if you ever upgraded the water pump on Goose? I just did my water pump, thermostat, and hoses on my 2001 Viper R/T10. The upgraded pump from Havik Performance has an aluminum impeller (instead of plastic) with better flow than stock. Just food for thought...
If I was around your area I would love to come out and learn things I don't know and hang out with a very knowledgeable person. I turn wrenches I'm just no where near your expertise in building things.
What brand of kit or replica was this?
Casey, I thought that Countach's are notoriously known for small interiors? Can you actually fit comfortably in it right now or do you see yourself having to push the firewall back further to get a more comfortable driving position?
Put the axillaries in the trans tunnel and run a prop shaft like the toyota tarago
I’ll put that on the list of magical ideas that can’t possibly work reasonably
Not sure how far away Tom’s Refurb is from you, but Tom would be such a cool collaboration on this channel. You guys both love hot rodding and it could be a cool project to post on both channels.
didn't you have a countach body molded from a real one before? 😅
also kinda wish you would do a video with the king zero...
I vote for the ferrari v8 to go into it.... call the project the "Italian hangover" lol
Keep hope alive good things still to come
what about an audi/vw W8 or W12? I would want it to sound good before anything else.... #1 sound.. #2 Reliable #3 can get parts #4 looks.
The Countach is best without the wheel arches. LP400. I would consider modifying that body this way. Godspeed.
I'm getting old and can't do what I used too. I know lots, I'm collecting 20 year old Honda kids. Want to play with cars. We need to get a old car guy seeking young car human. I got tools knowledge imagination and wisdom but I need surgery to fix my hands. Mentorship is needed. It was couple of guys like me took me in best friends in my entire world to this day but I was the young one. I did all the rough stuff they made sure I didn't die. Now I'm the busted one. Looking for cool kids that want to have fun and learn.
Casey, I will 3d print Fiero Center caps that fit over the stock center caps on those wheels....
Why not print Lockheed Martin? It will have the same number of parts.
would not be nearly as funny.
Would be cool but save alot of trouble and LS it. Too easy to make power and have fun. Why make it qwerty and uncomfortable? You could also build a twin turbo v6. Just take the easy route and enjoy it.
Where is the "King Zero" build?
Why not a BMW V10? It's smaller and, probably, cheaper than the Viper engine.
I haven't been here in a while, but what happened to the king zero supercar build?
would be cool if you showed the impact genius garage has
Maybe there's some Chevy hate or something, but it sure seems like a twin turbo LS would be perfect for that project. Ive seen 1200hp daily drivable ones, so I'm sure you could out-do a stock Viper engine and fit it in. But it's just not my kind of project, so maybe I'm way off here.
Love me a 3Si !!!
King Zero is gone? V10 on the countach will be awesome
I noticed it's not in the shop as well... it might be stored offsite atm.
is the L a Prova body and chassis ?
nm... made it to almost 13 minute mark... thats a killer deal for a Prova
if your intakes are in the cabin then you would only need a bottle to run nitrous
Hmmm das sounds interesting
Here's an idea for ya😉😉😉 take the TT V6 from the stealth, put it in the countach, take the v10, put it in the stealth🤣🤣🤣
Seems like alot of these projects are to much for a single person not willing to sell out with alot of things going on more important than a non-profit generating project
You need to de-lint your shirt =P
pirelli not yokohama
Those are Yokohamas. Why would you correct me when I’m looking right at the tires?
I think they were saying, Countach originally had Pirelli tires from factory, not Yokohamas@@CaseyPutsch
yes

Please lobby Jim Jordan to support your effort to replace Pete Buttigieg as Secretary of Transportation. This is your golden opportunity. It is why you were born. It is your destiny.
Your projects are just too big for one man juggling a ton of responsibilities, and they're too high quality to cater to the algorithm for weekly updates.
Now if you were putting in minimum effort and slightly modifying 90s/00s shitboxes that the youth can relate to, Genius Garage and you would drowning in UA-cam money.
Honda k motor would be the best. Light and great handling ?
Lambo is a waste of time, do you even fit inside of it?
Last time I watched your channel you were wearing a face mask at the race track. Seems extremely silly looking back on it eh? I am convinced you can’t be a real racer if you ever wore a face mask. That’s not what racing is about.
Face mask? You mean the mandated shield on full face helmets? We need context here man.
no dude, you were straight up wearing a face mask, outside, alone, in front of the camera, at a race track. sad!@@CaseyPutsch
@@zeezlebopsdingus, I was sponsored by Mazda corporate to be there and there was a track mandate at the time.
you let the easterners flex on us, for shame!@@CaseyPutsch
Yawn, more potential projects. Sorry Casey, used to love the channel, but you need to get back to builds and show completely projects. People don't want to invest in a project that won't get completed.
They don’t invest in any projects in general and I have the analytics to prove it, but nice jab and command.
@CaseyPutsch Sounds like you're defeated. I don't think it was a jab. You need a reset or just stop YT all together.
