Casey, we all look up to you despite your mistakes. You've always been so honest and open to us about your real experiences, while still encouraging us forward to pursue our dream careers, projects. I hope you're able to understand how inspiring you are. Keep being yourself, and keep following your dream for us Casey ❤️
I kinda want to hear Ed Bolian's private feedback on this video... That said I really think that Casey's attempt at "putting himself out there" wasn't a mistake even though it didn't work out. It was an opportunity for viewers to see how a pro driving deal actually comes together and what kind of personal training and development is required. And having it fail is a HUGE part of that learning process. You learn from failing not by succeeding. Keep slogging Casey!
Hey man dont be too hard on yourself, it was an opportunity that you took but didnt work out. Eventually there will be an opportunity that will work in your favor. You are a great man with great morals and goals, youve made it this far so why give up? Karma is a thing and what goes around comes around. Time will catch up to them and no amount of money will give them more time. I love your channel and i enjoy the videos you make. Ive been subbed for about 2 years now and i hope another opportunity arises in your favor man. 👊👊👊
Are they asking themselves if squeezing you out in favor of a younger driver was a good choice? Let's see what the comparison is and use the weekend of June 26-27 as our sample since both drivers raced that weekend with their respective teams on the same track. Genius Garage Racing Team had two podium finishes. That's you and a bunch of college kids who've never had 4 days like that before. Only you can truly answer this next question: How many podium finishes did the other guy with the big money backers & experienced crew have over the weekend? I'm pretty sure we all know the answer to that.
Casey did a hard thing by opening up and telling a tough tale. He has more to offer to anybody than most people ever will. He will have his day, some of his day will be remembering him when he is gone, but some day he will feel the glory he wants. He is a asset to humanity. He’s also Batman. It was a hard watch, but he needed this and we needed to see it. I’m here for his content, I watch to learn and be entertained. Bigger better faster! Go Casey! We all love what you do
Ironically next year he gets to drive a pro2000 car 😂 In all seriousness, well done Casey! You're an inspiration for me and seeing the valleys and mountains of your journey is encouraging. Keep going brother!
As you age you begin to realise that somethings are far more worthy than others. For me, doing something for others, as you are with Genius Garage, is way more praiseworthy than achieving for yourself. Winning is quixotic and very ephemeral. A few years later and people will have to look up who won that race or that championship. Decades later, those people who you helped through Genius Garage will remember and praise you for giving them that chance.
Casey I am now 71 and have had tons of similar situations as you have. I look back and I have never made it big but all those experiences have got me to where and what I am. I have been wronged ,cheated ,lied to, fired, quit for my principles and here I am content and happy. Most of my enemies have fallen by the wayside or have gone to get their reward . Everything happens for a reason to make you a stronger man. Maybe Genius Garage is what God wants you to do and that is more fulfilling then what most people will ever have. Love the channel and your content. Keep up the Five Star work !
I don't know if you'll read this, But if we get all the right people together we can branch off of the broken system and start a new one and let the old system fall. Many you youtubers are more connected than they think, If all of you got together we can literally start a new system. Cleetus mcfarland started by buying a race track and other youtubers helped fix it up, we can make leaps and bounds if we all get together and invest/ build new. We can take over if everyone jumps onboard. Hoonigan, Ken block, 1320 video, street speed 717, Texas speed, Motion raceworks, and more. they would all be down to do things our way and destroy the old system, We are the new future now it's time for us to take over. We are the participants, not spectators. Time for a change.
Take a year and fix up the fixer upper. Build on Genius Garage that's important. And race whenever you can. Forget hate. You have the wisdom now to never be led on again. Love ya man Cheers. 🇨🇦
Casey, I went through this very same thing- but in the music industry at age 21. Felt the same way you do but it took me years to want to work with anyone or in music at all. Don't let it bring you down- it's hard because you expect yourself out of other's and it's just never going to happen. Put in perspective all the good things you are doing for others and how blessed you are to live the life you do. Hell, how many people would just love to drive that GTS alone lol. Keep your head up
Casey, I have to admit that I haven't, till now, been an ardent follower of yours. After reading today from Autoweek (40+ yrs reading it) about your Indy shot with the Meyers family (cudos to them!). My own life's experiences gives me a great deal of empathy for your situation and wish you all the success you deserve. Some 25 years ago, at your current age, I stood in the CART pits at Portland watching AJ Foyt and his team work trying to muster up the confidence to go ask him for a shot in the dark. I knew from several years of past track time that I had talent but life took me down a busy road of raising a large family. I stood there long enough to make A.J. uncomfortable even knowing "ya don't wanna piss off A.J!" Never did find the stones to ask him - instead, used them to make a couple more kids. Godspeed!
Sucks to hear man. I know you are the type of guy that will get back up and keep on going with life. Like many here, you taught me how to drive stick. You taught me a skill that Ill have for the rest of my life now and got me interested in learning new things. Im grateful for you for not only teaching but pushing good values like tenacity, character, and hard work. Thanks for putting good works and lessons out there into the world Casey! looking forward to what comes next.
Casey, I wanted to be a world touring drummer. I practiced, played, traveled and so on. Met people honed my craft and I all I found was an industry that had its hand out all the time. I enjoyed watching that industry burn to the ground. I wouldn't stay down either and re-focused and came to terms with playing locally, not being paid for what I knew was possible for talent and had fun with the good people I had become close with. The moral is to keep your head up watch for the opening doors and let the good people do what they do. We all in this group know that you are good people Casey and look at your accomplishment at Mid Ohio stunning for good or for worse WE ALL ENJOYED your smile and attitude you displayed for those kids. Cheers,
Casey you saw a chance to follow your dream and you went for it against the advice of others you needed to at least try. No one can condem you for that. You kept your baby alive ( Genius Garage ) whist dealing with all of this. We love your straight up honesty and dignity not to name and shame. Casey you are a man who fights back. Please just allow what comes to you in you future to be what ever it is. It sounds to me not only are those people not friendly to you but heaven forbid that you actually became involved then afterwards you let the cat out of the bag of what really goes on behind the scenes so in a sense they are Scared of you because you will not be controlled. Take your time heal yourself. Go give your wife a monster hug because she is the one person who sounds like she backs you come hell or high water.
You’ve got it Casey. You own your life and add more value to the people that surround you then that group could’ve ever given to you. Keep an open mind and understand that good and bad in your life will continue to rebalance constantly. Focus on the good, and your part in that rebalance will fulfill itself.
Honestly I'm surprised your not mentioning names.. you could be saving other aspiring drivers from wasting their time with shady business people and stopping their scam arts. Love your channel by the way even when you tell it exactly how it is!
Man I miss those videos, I love your views on everything... we love you Casey, never give up, there's always opportunities hiding if you try hard enough
Hey Casey, I have much respect for you. You are not only a man of integrity but also a mentor and philanthropist. You give so much of yourself every day. At the end of the day you can only trust yourself. There are many good people who sincerly want to help until their own interests are in jeopardy. It does no good to get mad or vindictive. Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and say, "Isn't that interesting". Remember: This above all, to thine own self be true. You are a good man Casey Putsch.
Few things mate. First, LOVE the setting, delivery, lighting, PERFECT "Fireside chat with a Gentleman". Second, you missed the last part of that saying, "and do it first". And, you do more to further other people's chances, you enable others to get a foot in the door, that is valuable, and really, is more valuable to a larger society then just getting the chance behind the wheel. You've gotten further behind the wheel then most ever get chance to. Lastly, stirring the pot and burning the bridges, sometimes it needs to be done, just to remind the Sharks that they thought they won, but they're the one stuck on the bridge 👍😁
When I was in second grade my teacher told me I couldn't be an astronaut because I'm mexican. This feels oddly similar to that. Jokes on her, I'm a mechanic and I love it
Thanks for sharing your story. I can identify with many aspects of your situation, as I too have rare talent, but not the money. It’s the bane of my life. So many of us have the same problem. It’s time for us to get together and figure out how to change things. There’s already a great global community, people doing great things, we could collectively create the inclusive world of motorsports we want. Affordable competitive racing and a fair system if advancement within the sport, freedom from corruption, and environmental and social responsibility.
If we do things right, we still got alot of tomorrows. Thanks Casey. It may seem hard, but nobody said being a great role model is easy. I personally really appreciate what you do. Keep it up Casey. What you do will be thanked for in the gates of heaven on day far from now. Keep pushing.
Hi Casey, I’m just some 18 year old kid with a quarter of a college degree and not much experience to lean on but I just wanted to drop my take here. I know what happened sucks and it was tough but I think you still did the right thing by putting yourself out there and taking a risk, even if it didn’t work out for you. I’m sorry things turned so terribly but I hope you can learn and build on your experience and I hope that I can learn from your message in this video. Thanks for being such a role model here on the vast internet and keep up the great work.
Casey, I know you don't want to be the bad guy but I'm sure you're not the only guy they have screwed. You're probably not the most powerful and your business interests are pretty far removed from how they make money. My advice is find those powerful people with aligned interests that they have screwed over and help them.
I need to take a moment and thank you for producing this video. In life we get stepped on over and over again and to see you resilience and how you recovered helps motivate me to keep moving forward as well. Godspeed to you man May 2022 be a glorious year in your future someday I hope to shake your hand.
This actually rings true to something I am going through right now. I race in a series where I was told to play by certain rulebook, but it seems like others were not held to the same rules... It is a feeling I have a har time describing.
Casey, you've renewed my faith in car guys. You, Ed, Tavarish, and the rest of your friends are bringing fast and exciting cars down to earth, for real people, like me. I appreciate it, and so do your friends here. And as for rich guys being jerks: we know they care more about the money and prestige than the cars. We only care about driving the cars. Don't ever change.
The phrase no good deed goes unpunished comes to mind. It's a damn shame just how shady the racing world is behind the curtain. To shine a positive light, look to the future Casey. For it is darkest just before dawn
Remember when he helped rescue my Viper and then the dealership threatened to sue us over the video unless he took it down and posted a retraction? I said the same thing then. The quote is attributed to Oscar Wilde, I believe.
Even if your dream of racing seems so far away you can't give up on that. Sometimes you do have to be a little selfish or else you'll get burnt out and not want to keep doing it or anything related to it anymore. I may be young and dumb, but the one thing I know is that you can never give up no matter the impossibility of something. I know that its unreasonable but I know I will be a professional driver and anyone who puts in all the effort and time and keeps pushing can reach their dreams even if it seems impossible. I love the channel, and I can't wait to see you and genius garage grow bigger than you've ever dreamed of
The name is Putsch , not purchased, not bought, not paid off.. I believe in you regardless.. that's why i spent my time doing something for you! love the bike!!
Voting for you man... I don't know you long but you have inspired me with your video's...please don't give up EVER.....you are an example.....to me 🙏👍👌
The kindness you express to those who probably dont deserve it speaks to your character. Rest well knowing you are doing great things most could only dream of, but dont rest on it. you could go to the moon in your own rocket ship if you so desired.
Casey, I'm truly sorry you got burned. It takes a lot to open up like that and discuss those "not-so-pleasant" aspects of life. You do bring good to the world, and I am a fan of your channel because of that. If I'm ever in the position to be able to help you, I will. I like seeing good people succeed. I don't know what the future holds, but know that you've already made a positive difference in the lives of a lot of people. That's not a bad legacy.
Run across a few of those shark types, my experience is email footers like that are a reminder to the sender and a warning to the recipient. Remember, sin on a Monday forgiven on a Sunday.
I raced quarter midgets and Legend Cars from 9 to 21 yrs old before going to college, and finding out how the racing world really works the hard way was one of the most aggravating experiences I've had. Time Attack + a strong social media following seems to be an avenue for some drivers that didn't make it the "traditional" way.
If only the people in the racing world weren't so shady, those guys who screwed you over will get what's coming to them sooner or later. I know you could 100% make it in professional racing and I hope an actual genuine person comes along to give you that chance.
I've been watching you for a few years now. I'm sorry this happened to you, but you are doing great things. Something similar happened to me when I wanted to break into the business of film writing. But all will be good for you in the long run!
Chin up! When one door closes another opens, you're destined for greatness! Keep doing what you do and a new opportunity will come especially with your reach! We will support you in all you do, you've built this community and together I'm sure we'll find some way to help =)
Your whole situation sounds vaguely like Gru in Despicable Me. Looks like you'll just have to continue to fight and go it alone. We're all rooting for you!
Simple reality and only mistake you made was to believe in someone to help you in your dream, your destiny. There are many unnscrupulous people out there - you are a beacon from the other side of life, I am not sure about anyone else but my utter admiration for what you are doing, what you have done already and what else it to come just blows me away. I have wathched shallow people get their cummupance - sometime you have to wait a long time right enough. There are barstewards all over, I commmend your desire not to name the individuals, it is a statement of your integrity. Keep doing the great things you are doing and keep inspiring others as you are doing Casey.
Thank you for this video. It takes strength to put yourself out there for your dreams and it arguably takes even more strength to lay to bear this kind of demoralizing loss. You will be okay because you are a strong person and have my deepest respect. Chin up, Casey. We are rooting for you.
Man I've had this exact feeling with other things. You put your trust in others and its too easy for them to let you down. Hard to walk the tightrope of trust vs skepticism and all we can do is try, try, try again. Love ya Casey and at least you can say you tried. Nobody can blame you for having a dream.
Raw, honest, wise...showing wisdom learned from expierences, and giving us all a lesson in life... This is the kind of thing that the world need more of Im sorry to hear that things went south in such a way for you, people are often bought off too easily and it really sucks when someone's selfish actions dash the dreams of someone else. But dont beat yourself up about it; people like that are a dime a dozen and in the end, will be forgotten about while people like you sir will be remembered for generations. Thank you for putting yourself out there and showing us; not just with your racing goals, but your channel and your videos. You give us all soemthign to aspire to be
Become a racer not with in Indy, but maybe a smaller league. I know it's not your dream, have a goal you can reach and keep building to get as close to the dream as possible. Good luck for the future no matter what happens.
“Make your sacrifice mean something to those around you” Jonny Jones You are doing things others do not have the ability to do. Sometimes in life we have to sacrifice things we think make us who we are. It is definitely a hard time to get through but keep your head up. Remember you mentor these kids and make them better people. It does not get better than that my friend. Take care
Sometimes the best way forward is to take a step backwards to reassess, and find a new line to run. Tis nothing wrong with that so long as you keep going.
Damn shame you got squeezed out. I've never followed pro racing much but would've been interested to see how you did and started watching if they'd kept you on. Hoping that you get a second shot at it with someone who wants to give the big wigs the finger as you cross the finish line as much as you do (or at least as much as I do). That'd be an awesome, triumphant storyline to get behind. Either way, thanks for more of your sincere content and Godspeed, Casey Putsch. Have a good weekend, man. :)
Keep it up Casey! Remember failure leads to success. The only way to truly fail is to stop trying. Maybe you never do get to race Indy, maybe you do. Either way if you continue to conduct yourself with integrity you’ll be successful. I respect your candor, people need to know the story’s of how corruption can ruin something. Rich people aren’t going to stop using money to control people unless people refuse to be controlled by their money. Conversely money is so coveted, so sought after that it’s power will always find a way to corrupt the weak. Keep moving forward. Pour yourself into making the world a better place and contribute to teaching good people good lessons. You’re the man you make yourself, not the man made by money.
Sorry you went through that. The best revenge I've found is to live well. And in your case keep racing and irritate the insufferable egos as much as you can
Casey you can do anything People will always let you down but that’s why you have to be the best of yourself Don’t be so hard on yourself You are one of the most respected racing drivers in the views of so many people. This is your life and only you can take control of it Life is like racing…so get your ass back out on the track and keep going And sometimes you crash but nothing can stop you except yourself Just because it’s hard now doesn’t mean you can’t do it later
I grew up a naive poor white kid from nw ohio, i wanted to race indy cars too, but being low end middle class, the closest I could get was setting up, managing and tearing down the honda fan zone in 2018. a boy can dream though. never stop dreaming. Cheers for what you do, and the people you do it for!!!
"I really wanted to take a swing...just for me." This is fair and perfectly respectable especially given all you've done for others and how you've approached life. You will find what's next and can take another swing. There will me more swings to take. They are not unlimited, but there will be more. Keep being positive with what you're doing day to day but also hungry for that next appearance at the plate. Best to you.
dont give up dude. if another opportunity comes to run indy or something high level like you wanna do, DO IT. dont let this setback kill your dream. in the meantime keep being awesome 👍
Casey you are a modern day Brewster Baker and the Genius Garage kids are your six pack. You should have kept the c4 and raced it in NASA until it's wheels fell off. It would have showed people what you and what Genius Garage is really about.
When you see how nascar censors anything the drivers can say about the sport and sponsors I am not surprised. If u drive a nascar it don't matter if u can even drive a car. It's about how well u play along with social media sponsors and being a politician. Driving the car comes second. Especially when every car is so identical there is not set up anymore.
Casey, it's not a mistake to trust people. Sometimes bad things happen without there being an enabling mistake. Those people should not take others' enabling actions as a window through which to stab them.
@Casey Putsch, we've all been there, had dreams crushed, sparks extinguished, put down and let down. I could say some motivational crap about getting up and being resilient, but if I'm honest, that doesn't happen all the time. I've learnt that when we get let down and made to feel worthless, or undermined, its okay feel crap, bad or hurt. I've been there, I created the logo, made the shirt hoodie and everything else, and I was burnt so bad it cost me my own self respect dignity and I lost everything, literally everything. You are that rare breed of being, a good person, who wants to do things for other people, and give them a heads up in life, so they can do the better thing. whilst dreams are good, they don't fulfil, take it from me, I've driven all sorts, however, I'm never happier unless I'm helping someone. I've no doubt you will pick yourself up, and show us how to create, bend, mend, fabricate and race, just be yourself and do what feels right. Genius Garage is a great thing, make that your priority, (next to your wife of course) and genius garage will go far, I promise you.
You are too much your own man. You aren't someone just looking for fame/money/ect and thus aren't controllable by mechanisms normally used to control people. You know you are on the right path, keep at it my man.
Just so you know a little more how far your reach is, I am not a car guy at all (I drive a diesel Yaris), but I dig so hard what you are doing for those kids. Yes I subscribed and dinged the bell.
Casey, I have been watching your channels for a short time you have a gift, give it time. Things don’t always happen in our time. You are not just an amazing teacher, driver but you have patients. Remember this diamonds are pressed and start out as an old lump of coal, you’re gonna be a diamond one day!
Casey, thank you for sharing and the humility. There are bad people out there. Some powerful, some not. But there will be an end to all of us, and as we reflect back on what we've done for ourselves, for others (or to others) this is what we'll be judged on. Stay the course, do what is right and while it may not be the same opportunity, other doors will open for you.
Casey, you don't need folks like that in your life. Let em know they can blow you till their lips fall off and just keep doing you and what you love and care about. Not giving one single fuck is as free as anyone can be. More people need to give it a try.
If you hadn't had the balls to shoot for that opportunity you would have always regretted not taking the chance. One thing I know for sure is you are a good mentor to the students in Genius Garage. That will eventually repay you in big ways.
Casey, we all look up to you despite your mistakes. You've always been so honest and open to us about your real experiences, while still encouraging us forward to pursue our dream careers, projects. I hope you're able to understand how inspiring you are. Keep being yourself, and keep following your dream for us Casey ❤️

Best you tube channels show and talk about the bad along with the good and show their mistakes. Keep on doing what you do.

Fair play to you for saying your side of the story's.

Love you man. One of the last men left in this world who values integrity.
its not just racing, its like this in any environment where there is considerable amounts of money moving around
This is the best channel on UA-cam. Thank you Casey

Never degrade your own integrity..truths are truths. Passions are passions..follow them..speak your mind. Much love & respect to you & what you do..
Casey, I know you don't want to be the bad guy but I'm sure you're not the only guy they have screwed. You're probably not the most powerful and your business interests are pretty far removed from how they make money.
My advice is find those powerful people with aligned interests that they have screwed over and help them.
I don't understand the thumbs down, the story is great and he put honesty on it. I personally enjoyed it.
You the man Casey, thanks for the work you have done. May we all read between the lines and pick the good fights, and always defend our own.
Your raw honesty is why I’m here.
Keep up the great work Casey. Opportunities will continue to find you.
If someone reminds himself and everyone around him how to treat people that is a red flag and probably hides maliciousness with kindness
FWIW, it's clear from seeing what you've done with Genius garage you've already reached a level of accomplishment many are envious of.
Voting for you man... I don't know you long but you have inspired me with your video's...please don't give up EVER.....you are an example.....to me 🙏👍👌
Sorry to hear Casey.
Sending you all the best wishes.
The kindness you express to those who probably dont deserve it speaks to your character. Rest well knowing you are doing great things most could only dream of, but dont rest on it. you could go to the moon in your own rocket ship if you so desired.
The road to Indy is Paved with Scars, Bars and Guitars
Casey,
I'm truly sorry you got burned.
You are a humble man and have true core values good things will come to you
Lets get casey to 3 million subs and he can sponsor himself👍👍👍👍
You're still a hero Casey! We're with you!
You are a good man sir, thank you for all of the work you've done for the world
I felt like we should have each had an open beer in one hand when I was watching this. Well played.
Speak for yourself I drank 2 beers during this
@@TheFoyer13 Now I want a beer.
This is the kind of thing that the world need more of
Im sorry to hear that things went south in such a way for you, people are often bought off too easily and it really sucks when someone's selfish actions dash the dreams of someone else.
“Make your sacrifice mean something to those around you”
Jonny Jones
You are doing things others do not have the ability to do.
Sometimes in life we have to sacrifice things we think make us who we are.
It is definitely a hard time to get through but keep your head up.
Remember you mentor these kids and make them better people. It does not get better than that my friend. Take care
This really feels like "blare witch racing"
And in your case keep racing and irritate the insufferable egos as much as you can
Casey you can do anything
People will always let you down but that’s why you have to be the best of yourself
Don’t be so hard on yourself
You are one of the most respected racing drivers in the views of so many people.
This is your life and only you can take control of it
Life is like racing…so get your ass back out on the track and keep going
And sometimes you crash but nothing can stop you except yourself
Just because it’s hard now doesn’t mean you can’t do it later
I grew up a naive poor white kid from nw ohio, i wanted to race indy cars too, but being low end middle class, the closest I could get was setting up, managing and tearing down the honda fan zone in 2018. a boy can dream though. never stop dreaming. Cheers for what you do, and the people you do it for!!!
Great story time setting
"I really wanted to take a swing...just for me." This is fair and perfectly respectable especially given all you've done for others and how you've approached life. You will find what's next and can take another swing. There will me more swings to take. They are not unlimited, but there will be more. Keep being positive with what you're doing day to day but also hungry for that next appearance at the plate. Best to you.
You are the Good Guy Casey .... keep doing what you are doing for as long as you can .... and we’ll keep watching 😀👍
You create the value that you are.
I value the value you value.
Pretty easy to find out who he is. You're still on his website as a client. Good luck with genius garage and whatever racing you can get involved in.
dont give up dude. if another opportunity comes to run indy or something high level like you wanna do, DO IT. dont let this setback kill your dream. in the meantime keep being awesome 👍
Pick your fights -- the ones you can win or principles demand you fight.
Glad you made the video Casey. Disappointment is part of life.
Casey, it's not a mistake to trust people. Sometimes bad things happen without there being an enabling mistake. Those people should not take others' enabling actions as a window through which to stab them.
“People come out of the clear, blue sky and they open doors.”
That one line makes the whole video.
I love this channel because of the you and the knowledge you share
So sorry Casey for the disappointment. Good luck for the future!
You are too much your own man. You aren't someone just looking for fame/money/ect and thus aren't controllable by mechanisms normally used to control people. You know you are on the right path, keep at it my man.
Well said my friend. Don’t give up on your dreams. You are an inspiration to many. You will get there. Be safe and stay humble.
Just so you know a little more how far your reach is, I am not a car guy at all (I drive a diesel Yaris), but I dig so hard what you are doing for those kids. Yes I subscribed and dinged the bell.
Thank you kindly.
Thank you for sharing Casey.
Casey, I have been watching your channels for a short time you have a gift, give it time. Things don’t always happen in our time. You are not just an amazing teacher, driver but you have patients. Remember this diamonds are pressed and start out as an old lump of coal, you’re gonna be a diamond one day!
I hope so! Thank you!
When it comes to integrity there's a lot of truth to the statement ... "if they'll do it for you, they'll do it to you."
Damn man.... that's terrible. The pain is tangible in your pauses/sighs
Casey, you don't need folks like that in your life. Let em know they can blow you till their lips fall off and just keep doing you and what you love and care about. Not giving one single fuck is as free as anyone can be. More people need to give it a try.
its not over till ya give up. I hope ya don't give up Casey. Good luck man
This is exactly how you feel after working with anyone in venture capital.
If you hadn't had the balls to shoot for that opportunity you would have always regretted not taking the chance. One thing I know for sure is you are a good mentor to the students in Genius Garage. That will eventually repay you in big ways.
